To make your stay feel even more at home, the house is decorated with luscious live plants and local artworks throughout. In the master bedroom, you’ll find a large spacious bathroom with double vanities and dual closets with full body mirrors, a walk-in shower and a large garden tub with a view overlooking the swimming pool and beautiful backyard. The house also offers a desk for remote working in the office space/game room, a classic arcade game, a kids room, smart TV's, and a basketball hoop in the large 4-car driveway. Downstairs, the open floor plan allows for plenty of room for lounging, dining or entertaining with two large, luxury sectional sofas with 4 recliners, a tall 8 ft dining table, and a sideboard where you will find an assortment of board and card games, a karaoke speaker-mic, and a wireless bluetooth speaker.
Although the house comes with endless amenities, the backyard is definitely the main attraction with a swimming pool and three separate seating areas! Enjoy fireside chats and roasting marshmallows on a wood burning fire chimeneya in the center of the yard or get cozy under the covered gazebo with a smokeless, gas fire table and lounge furniture. And, for the master grillers, fire up the BBQ pit for some grilling and chilling by the pool!
We have a family friendly space that will prove to be a great option for a staycation or retreat in San Antonio. Conveniently located within a 10 mile radius from multiple attractions including Sea World, The San Antonio Aquarium, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Top Golf and The Shops at La Cantera, this is the perfect place to stay after a long day out! We are also less than 5 minutes from HEB, multiple restaurants, shopping plazas, movie theaters. Whether your plans are to enjoy the sights and attractions of San Antonio or enjoy everything the house has to offer, you will find plenty to do and want for nothing! Hello and welcome!! We are Janie and Monica, and we are so excited to be your hosts! Janie and I are both originally from the Rio Grande Valley (deep south Texas by the border). Together, we love to travel and enjoy all things music, art, and foodie. We are also very proud dog moms to our 4 (yes, 4!) Boxer fur babies, Ahni, Luna, Billie-Joe and Bam-Bam. When we are not at home cuddling our babies, we are big on supporting small businesses, so you might find us at a local brewery or food truck park.
We moved to San Antonio in 2014, fell in love with the city and purchased our first home in 2016. We lived there until 2022 when we moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Both moves were job related and although Texas is where our home and heart is, we could not say no to the opportunity in Georgia. Janie works in the tissue bank industry, and I am an artist but have been teaching Special Education for the last 10 years or so. I was fortunate enough to take this school year off, as I pursue my entrepreneurial dreams as well as launch our San Antonio home as a short-term rental. We absolutely love our home and San Antonio so much that we couldn't NOT share it with others to enjoy while we are away.
A big theme in both our lives and in my artwork is the human heart ("corazon" in Spanish). Not only have I been painting and drawing Corazones in different themes and mediums for years now, but Janie currently works directly with hearts saving people's lives through the process of donation and transplant. For us the heart represents the gift of love and the gift of life. This is why we chose "Casa Corazon" as the name of our home, and we even left and used some of my artworks to decorate the home. We hope you love our casita as much as we do, and we aim to deliver a 5-star stay. If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask.
