Quiet and clean

Lovely space to relax and enjoy the Flint Hills & historic Council Grove. There are many short day trips you can do from here for some Kansas adventures.

A lovely space

I loved everything about this property! The location, aesthetics, even the air conditioning was great. I would say depending on your group, it accommodates two people best as the rollout is terribly uncomfortable and the only access to the bathroom is via the bedroom. It is very comfortable and Lindsey was very helpful!!

The loft....

This is an amazing property, perfect location, modern, yet cozy. Such wonderful communication with the property owner. Check in and out were so easy. We loved it and will continue to book it whenever we stay in Council Grove.

Another amazing stay with this host!

I've now stayed in both of the apartments at this location with this host, and this one was just as great as the first! Perfect location to call home while you enjoy all that Council Grove has to offer. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean, and amazing attention to detail. From the books to scan, to the phone charging pad by the bed, to the coffee maker, cold filtered water pitcher, and quality bedding and towels. I could continue ... amazing stay again!

Getaway weekend

Perfect condition, well maintained. Modern decor, has everything and more you could ever want for a weekend getaway. Neat outdoor fire pit just outside on patio. Property owner easy to communicate with, and very helpful. Council Grove is a great small town getaway spot: Hays House excellent dinner; Riverbank Brewery great beer, cool spot; downtown shopping; Saddlerock Cafe great breakfast diner. Would highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

What a wonderful find! For a little city, Council Grove punches well above its weight class – so many historic sites to visit and happenings to attend, and this one-bedroom loft puts you in the heart of it all! It has everything a modern traveler would need. I found the bed quite comfortable, with lovely pillows – unlike the rough and barely serviceable ones at some hotels. The water pressure and heat were fine in the shower. There are also a washer and dryer off the bathroom, but I had no need to use them. That area and a service closet off the bedroom act as a buffer to the second loft at the front of the building. It is 22 steps up from street level on Main Street, but my elderly friends visiting handled it; they just took their time. Off the back, there’s a lovely modern metal deck and stairway down to the alley; it’s quite spacious, with a big gas grill and seating for four around a matchng metal rectangular coffee table with its own fire feature, to warm a cool night’s gathering. I would love to have made use of these, but I was just too busy – perhaps next time! I did rely on the big flatscreen TV to keep up on happenings in the outside world. Really, the only thing I missed was having a box of facial tissues at my disposal, but I think I rely on this more than most. You do not enter from the outside hallway via a key; instead, the owner emailed me the four-digit electronic code to use, two days before I arrived, which worked out fine. Just a lovely place!

This historic building was constructed in 1887 but has the look and feel of a modern city loft. Exposed brick walls and 12' tall ceilings make the space feel grand but also inviting. The decor blends the new with the old by using several antique pieces that were with the building from the beginning.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We want to make families feel right at home during their stay. We have several board games and books to occupy kids and, if needed, the couch turns into a sofa bed to sleep 2 more guests.

Our kitchen has everything to make a home-cooked meal, but if you're looking for convenience we're located just steps away from Chinese and Mexican take-out food. You also have the option to grill and gather around the fire pit on our outdoor deck under string lights.
