The Papakea Resort gets 5 Stars! The lower 3 star review is specific only to the Property Management company, My Perfect Stays. We arrived during a power outage and there was no communication to alert us to this fact prior so that we might have prepared. When we addressed this with the property management company, they repeatedly said they would "keep us updated" on the situation, but instead only sent us automated texts about "how is our stay?" etc... We felt like we were not dealing with actual people. Unfortunately, they did not even communicate when the power came back on and then, laughably, delivered us a requested flashlight 48 hours *after* the power was restored. Obviously, they are not in control of a power outage, but the communication here was extremely poor.They do, however, have excellent cleaners! The place was spotless and comfortable. The pictures make it look a bit nicer/more modern than it is, but we were very comfortable. The resort, itself, is great. Lots to do, well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful.Sadly, I would not stay here again because of the management and, after this experience, will exclusively look for places that are managed by owners as we've had great experiences going that route.

a wonderful place to stay

everything and more you could want from a condo in Maui.. just thought one thing i should point out is there is no ice maker and was only 1 ice tray when we stayed there.. if your group is adults who enjoy the occasional cocktail you need to buy ice but other than that no compalints

The best groundfloor unit at Papakea!

Papakea is a special place to our family and we've stayed in many units over 20+ years. This is the best groundfloor unit by far. The set-up is fantastic with two primary bedroom set-ups and plenty of comfy pull out couch sleeping space for the kiddos. The proximity to the pool, shuffleboard, beach stairs and seawall is perfect. We will be back! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Loved your place. Some suggestions for improved experience. Coolers were great but some ice packs would have helped. The frying pans need to be replaced. Knifes needs sharpening or replaced.

Amazing

I have stayed in Papakea Resort twice now and it’s honestly the best. The grounds are well maintained, the units we’ve chosen are beautiful, the location is amazing for families, it’s quiet but just enough to keep you busy, everything you’ll need is basically a walk or run away and your favorites are a 10 minute drive. Whoever is putting off their trip due to the fires that occurred last year- you can visit the island without disruption. Just be respectful to the locals as it is still in the phases of the clean up process. Aside from that Maui is still my favorite place to visit when we can go and if you’re looking for a cozy place to call home for your stay choose this resort.

Only problem was no AC or ventilation in bedrooms. Had to leave BR door open to get AC from the living room which meant late sleepers had to hear early risers.

Gorgeous Oceanfront Condo!

This condo is spacious, clean, and convenient. It's oceanfront location, and close proximity to the pool is perfect, and without all the noise that larger hotels come with. It was equipped with everything we needed-beautiful full kitchen, beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, tennis rackets, separate bar area with blender, two king size beds and two full bathrooms. The living space is huge, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There are 2 lanai areas, with two large sliding doors. It is essentially two units made into one by removing a wall. It was perfect for our family of 4, and when our friends stayed for a few nights, it was spackious enough for all 8 of us! We enjoyed lounging on the lawn right in front of the condo, and you cannot beat the sunset view from this place! We had several people walk by asking for the rental information since it is a beautiful ground floor unit, and there is not another one like it in the complex. We can't wait for our next visit here!

Group vacation

We went with another couple. 2 seperate master bedrooms with master bathrooms was perfect Very roomy living area to host dinners and relax on the lenai and grass area to enjoy watching the priceless sunsets. We can't wait to come back again! Thank you for sharing your paradise!!

Wonderful stay

We were totally happy with our 5-day stay at Papakea A101. How could you not love hearing the crashing waves just 30 feet from the patio? Being on the first floor was great - to walk out and relax with a view of paradise. The only complaint was that the air conditioner did not cool the bedrooms as we would have liked although it wasn't enough to lower our rating.

Best Trip Ever

We absolutely loved this place!!! I wouldn’t have traded it for a hotel stay for anything. Walked out of the patio onto the softest grass & just a few steps more to the ocean. It is also very close to the pool & hot tub. We had so many people ask us to share the link because it is a 2 bedroom with so much space & privacy. We played pickle-ball & the courts were very nice. We were walking distance to an amazing pizza place! We picked it up a couple nights & ate dinner on the patio while watching the sunset & listening to the waves. The grounds were immaculate at all times. They lit the tiki torches every night. I seriously can’t recommend this place enough….I hope to be back soon!

We will be back!

This was the PERFECT place for our families to relax and enjoy all that Maui had to offer. With 2 little kids, the ground level near the pool was ideal.

Beautiful water front condo in family friendly quiet resort.

Ground floor overlooking the ocean We especially liked having the grass to lounge on and the beach and water just a few steps away. Quiet very family friendly facility. We would stay again for sure

Beautiful location

We loved our place in Papakea. This was by far one of the best condos on the property, large, tons of light, next to the beach and the pool and on the ground floor. We have two small kids (8 and 4) so the ground floor and location were ideal. Staying with us was my mom as well and there was plenty of room for my husband and I, our two boys and my mom. It’s was an absolutely gorgeous place with amazing sunset views. We loved how the sliding doors could basically open up an entire side of the condo allowing the ocean breeze in. We had great communication with the property managers and they were very quick to answer if we had any questions or concerns. Overall 5 stars, we’d definitely come back!

Paradise.

Disappointed that the ice maker didn't work. Had to buy ice. From our standpoint, age in mid eighties, grab handle in shower would be appreciated for safety.

We did order the icemaker. There are ice trays just in case. This is not a handicapped unit but we do have other properties that have this listed under the amenities. Our recommendation next time is to book a handicapped approved unit. We do hope you enjoyed Maui.
