The Space:
Opened in March '23, HOLT has transformed this 120-year-old family home into a chic villa dedicated to the memory of Margarita Figueroa, the grandmother of the house.

This gorgeous villa can host up to 18 guests comfortably with two different types of rooms – three rooms with a king bed, and three rooms with two queen beds – all with en suite bathrooms. Our 6 rooms present with locally-made custom furniture, sophisticated finishes, and 14-foot ceilings. Air conditioning & heating, a 50" SmartTV, and a dedicated workspace round out the offerings of each room.

An incredible chef’s kitchen and large dining room sit in the front of the property. Hire HOLT’s Chef Juan to cook a meal for your entire group!

Guests will appreciate the two open spaces, and the primary courtyard showcases an oversized outdoor dining table to seat up to 18 people. The eight-person hot tub jacuzzi in the rear courtyard invites you to take a dip.

The internet connection is unmatched in Oaxaca. The property boasts a mesh Wi-Fi network distributed by the best devices in the world, Ubiquiti UniFi. Running at 500mb/s download speed with 99.9% uptime, our property possesses top internet access for all your devices, no matter your work.

HOLT's professional housekeeping staff will clean the patios, kitchen, dining room, and guest rooms, free of charge.

We also offer breakfast service for free. This buffet-style breakfast is based on seasonal products that include vegan and gluten-free options. The breakfast is served from 10 AM - 12 PM Monday to Sunday.

Ioana Holt, co-founder, COO, and Head of Design for HOLT, served as the sole designer and general contractor for HOLT's Casa De Mi Independencia. In her artist statement, Mrs. Holt describes her inspiration for her design to bring the property to life as "the fashionista grandma, never caught with a hair out of place. She's so chic and cool, she's bold, she's lived enough to learn to embrace all she loves, and all those things fit together because of her." She continues, "Each corner is a postcard to a decade of her life... There is joy and playfulness and comfort in each room. There is also awe and excitement."

Guest Access:
Guests have full and exclusive use of the villa during their stay. HOLT’s housekeeping staff has access and will be on-site during daytime hours most days of the week to ensure high-quality service throughout your stay. In the event of an emergency, HOLT reserves the right to enter the property without prior guest approval.

The Neighborhood:
We are located right in the heart of the Centro Historico of Oaxaca, just 3 blocks away from the famous Zocalo, and within a walking distance from the most important tourist destinations in the city. Restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, parks, churches, bars, and shops - everything is located right outside your door.

Getting Around:
The property is located right at the heart of this magical city. It is recommended by travelers and locals to get to know the center on foot, you will find everything within a walking distance. There are multiple open paid car parks in the surrounding blocks. If you are driving to the city, please let us know so that we can send you the closest options. There are also taxis and Ubers available at reasonable prices.

Interaction with Guests:
HOLT’s Guest Experience team is reachable by message, phone, text, and email 24/7. Our on-the-ground managers, cleaners, and handymen are available at reasonable hours of the day and night. In the event of an emergency, HOLT reserves the right to enter the property without prior guest approval.

Other Things to Note:
Guests will be required to submit payment details for a security deposit or a damage waiver. We offer two types of damage coverage for your stay: a non-refundable damage waiver that covers accidental damage and normal wear and tear (excluding house rule violations), or a refundable security deposit held on your payment method before check-in and released after your stay if no damage is found. Guests can choose either option based on their preference.

Hot tub rules: Guests who do not follow the instructions to use the hot tub properly and damage it will be subject to a USD 500 fine. The hot tub rules are shown in the last photo of the listing and are present in the property.

All guests must sign a HOLT rental agreement, submit identification & provide contact details before arrival to receive HOLT's Boarding Pass with check-in and property information. HOLT reserves the right to request a copy of a government-issued ID for each guest in the reservation.

The villa has a CCTV security camera on the exterior of the property with a view of the entrance. In addition, there are security cameras on the patios, dining room and kitchen to ensure the safety of all our guests. There are no recording devices in the bedrooms or private areas. All recordings are deleted after 30 days.

If you are booking for commercial purposes, please notify us in advance with details of your use of the property, as terms and pricing may vary.

We provide a professional cleaning and disinfection service before each stay. Our dedicated housekeeping team at HOLT will be present on the property to clean various areas, including the two patios, the hot tub, the kitchen, the dining area, and the entry. Additionally, if guests specifically request it, our staff can also clean the bedrooms at no extra cost, this service does not include change of sheets or laundry. Our housekeeping staff will not enter the rooms unless guests explicitly ask us to do so.

This is a pet-friendly property. There is an additional $50 USD sanitation fee per pet. Guests not disclosing they are bringing a pet but are caught by our team will be subject to a $500 USD fee.
