The staircase was too much for me. I am 60 with back issues. The elevator to the parking garage was not in working order.

Great location in the heart of Springfield and right across from the old State Capitol. It was the perfect amount of space for our family of 5 adults and infant. There is a steep climb to get to this unit and the unit is nice and well appointed but would definitely benefit from a little more attention to a few details and a final polishing. Dan was very responsive and I would definitely rent from him again.

It was a very clean and comfortable place to stay and quite adequate for our needs. As a senior, the 35-steps straight up to he 3rd floor were quite difficult. Great downtown location. The parking was fine for us but downtown wasn't very busy when we were there so we had no problem finding a parking space for the night time.

Apartment was clean; a railing would be nice down the stairs from the living room; beds were comfortable; shower could use a rubber mat to prevent slipping; otherwise, great location, quiet, clean, all the necessities. Be sure to park on the street - it's free!

Good quiet location

Great place, very clean and Dan was quick to respond each time we sent a message. For a downtown location in the capital city it was quiet and worked well for us. We didn’t realize there was limited parking options that didn’t require a fee, but we were only there from late evening to early morning and was able to park along the street without any parking fees. Would definitely recommend this place!

I came to town with my teen/preteen daughters to do all of the historic Springfield things and this location could not be better for that. The unit has a fun historic charm with enough updates to make it comfortable. The host was quick to communicate and we had not problem checking in or out. There is not a designated parking area for the unit so you either need to pay for parking in a garage or hope for street parking. We were there when Congress was not in session and did not have a problem finding parking on the street nearby but I'm not sure if that would be the case during busier times. Just something to note if you're going to have a car with you.While we enjoyed the charm of the unit, the comfort-level was lacking. There were only 6 pillows and 6 very small bath towels in the unti. I messaged the host and requested more and was told that they don't provide extra pillows or towels. I find this odd considering it's listed as sleeping 7. So if you have 7 people not everyone gets their own pillow and towel? We did not have 7 people but even so the best practice standard is to have more than one per person. This certainly did not make for the "comfortable and enjoyable stay" the host continued to refer to.

Full Disclosure

The location is perfect for Springfield. So many places in walking distance. Word of caution..if you have any disability this apartment is difficult to access. There are 37 steps with no elevator access. This limited our up and down. Unfortunately, as well the stove was inoperable as well. We are flexible travelers, so we were able to work around, The actual apartment is really nice.

Apartment is in a great location, clean and spacious. Furnished well to include kitchen needs. While I was aware of the stairs to access apartment (found in reviews) it would be helpful to include in description. Responses to communications were always quick and helpful.

Key information missing

The listing fails to note that there are 35 very steep, dimly lit stairs up to the apartment - significant safety hazard, hassle carrying luggage and would be a barrier for anyone with limited mobility. The access was very difficult with incomplete information. Otherwise, the apartment was nice, great location, owner fairly responsive.

Family trip

The apartment was excellent. Perfect location to walk to the Lincoln Museum and home. Beautiful view of the old capitol. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this apartment.

Fun Location but Needs Some Love

I wanted to be a tourist in the town I grew up. Apparently not so much a thing. Location was great and just as described. Kitchen was great and lacked nothing. The living area was a little worn. All three beds had exposed box springs, pretty unhygienic and the mattress very old and saggy. I needed tools to attach the headboard, as it made a lot of noise if you just barely rolled over. The carpet is pretty dirty as well and it was impossible to sleep beyond sunrise due to skimpy blinds. The towels were threadbare with holes and someone else’s personal items were in the bathroom. The tub/shower makes a lot of noise as well, as if you’re going to fall through the floor at any moment. Again, the location was fun and the kitchen area was really nice. We did not know we would be climbing a very steep and pretty dirty stairwell up. It was fine once luggage was up but that was unplanned exercise! So, I’d suggest a bedroom re-vamp and include some blackout shades and some new towels. The place has so much potential and some interesting decor touches. Do the updates and I’ll come again!

Our 2 bedroom apartment was a great for our stay for the week. The property is very safe and quiet being in historic downtown. Dan, our host, was more than accommodating to take my questions and efficient with responses. We will return to Springfield and will look to stay at their rental again!

6 Night Stay

Great location and great unit for four people. Never been to Springfield and the location was perfect and easy to get to and from everywhere we needed whether we drove or walked. There are a lot of steps to the unit but the view is absolutely worth it. Property Manager was very responsive and the unit was clean. We will be back next year for the yearly event we attend.
