THE SPACE

A unique and central location offers access by car and boat to a private peninsula surrounded by water, making this the perfect island‑style getaway for families and boaters. The LUSEA estate includes two rental homes (Starfish Bay and Mermaid Cove), a private residence, on‑site marina, and its own power and water plant, all within gated Eastern Shores. You enjoy true sea‑to‑sea living: the Sea of Abaco to the north and the calm Sugarloaf Canal and lagoon to the south, so there is almost always a protected side for swimming, paddling, or launching water toys.

The property features two private, protected guest docks for boats up to about 55 ft with available 100‑amp power and water (arrange dockage, electric, and water with the owner in advance). A dedicated seating area on the lagoon side offers chairs, tables, sunset views, and a fish‑cleaning station just steps from your boat. High‑speed WiFi covers both homes, all decks, and the docks, so you can work or stream from anywhere on the estate.

The entire property is off‑grid without sacrifice: a large solar power plant provides 24/7 electricity with two diesel generators as backup only, giving you constant power even when the rest of the island is dark. A private water plant combines rainwater harvesting, reverse osmosis, multi‑stage filtration, and UV treatment, so every faucet in both homes delivers clean, great‑tasting drinking water—no need to buy bottled.

INTERIOR LIVING – STARFISH BAY

Starfish Bay is a brand‑new 3BR/2BA home (completed June 2022) with an open‑plan layout, high ceilings, and water views from every bedroom. The kitchen, living, and dining areas flow onto a large covered deck with dining and lounge seating, while sliding doors from the master, living room, and waterfront guest bedroom open directly to the patio and ocean views. All three bedrooms and the living room have 50‑inch smart TVs with Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and more, plus Sonos/Bluetooth speakers for your own music. A modern, well‑equipped kitchen includes a 4‑burner gas range with griddle, dishwasher, ice maker, coffee machine, toaster, blender, and electric kettle, with large closets and ample storage throughout.

INTERIOR LIVING – MERMAID COVE

Mermaid Cove is a spacious open‑plan villa (completed April 2023) with high ceilings, an island kitchen, and three sliding doors that open to a large covered patio with outdoor dining. A very large lower deck overlooks the Sea of Abaco with stairs leading directly into the water, creating an easy indoor‑outdoor flow. Abaco Wedding

Rented both homes to accommodate our family for our wedding. Plenty of privacy at Mermaid and room to stretch out next door at Starfish. Kids enjoyed fishing and all the water sports kept them very busy. Host has this property set up perfectly and communication was never an issue. Can't wait to come back!

We’ve loved the water and the Bahamas for most of our lives. For more than 25 years we’ve explored these islands, eventually visiting every major island in the chain. Before we ever owned a home here, we spent 3–4 months each year living aboard our boats and cruising the Bahamas, including many years on an 80‑foot motor yacht. When it was time to come ashore, we knew we wanted a permanent base in the Abacos, where clear Bahamian water, beautiful beaches, excellent boating, and practical conveniences all come together. We named the property LUSEA, the same name carried by each of our boats—a little piece of our cruising story that lives on here.

Today we split our time between Fort Lauderdale and the Abacos, staying very involved in island life, especially animal welfare. After Hurricane Dorian, we helped bring in over 100,000 pounds of pet food so local dogs and cats wouldn’t go hungry, and we continue to support the local shelter, including donating a mobile animal clinic to improve access to care. We still work closely with the people and organizations who care for Abaco’s animals and community.


Our homes at LUSEA are our way of sharing this special corner of the Abacos with guests—combining the perspective of long‑time boaters with the comforts of a thoughtfully designed island retreat. We’re excited to welcome you and help you experience the Abacos the way we’ve come to know and love them.

When we found this property we immediately knew how special it was.
The natural beauty of this property is hard to beat anywhere in the world.
Eastern Shores is a private peninsula on great Abaco island that is surrounded by water. This sea to sea location offers the Sea of Abaco direct oceanfront on the North side and protected waters on the South Side where a lagoon forms between Sugarloaf Cay and eastern shores.
This allowed us to build our dream property having a Marina on the South side of the property with protected dockage in all weather conditions and oceanfront on the North side.
Views from north where Starfish Bay and Mermaid Cove are located are spectacular. Montage Cay (formerly Matt Lowes Cay) is less than a mile away forming a protected bay and clam waters in most conditions . Man O War Cay can be seem just 2 miles away .
Another amazing feature of the property is that water will always be protected on one side of the property, so that if it is windy on one side, typically the other side is calm and will allow for water sports in almost all weather conditions.
The property also has amazing natural vegetation and is elevated to allow excellent views and natural protection from the elements.
