The Garrett House.

The Garrett House in McCook, NE, is available to rent on a short term basis. This beautiful turn of the century Greek Revival home features 7 bedrooms with 1 King bed, 2 Queen beds, 6 Twin beds, 3 futons, and 3 bath locations. The home is available for rent to host weekend getaways, reunions, showers, intimate parties, etc. The home features a Gourmet Kitchen with professional grade gas cooktop, dining area that can comfortably sit 14, and a two story front porch to enjoy the outdoors. This historic home is centrally located in the city with a short walk to parks, downtown, and the community college.

Our base fee includes 4 overnight guests. Additional overnight guests are extra per person per night. We do require all overnight guests to be registered. If it's discovered the booking party had unregistered overnight guests, the booking party agrees to pay the additional fees associated with the unregistered guests upon request of the host.

This historic home is right near adorable downtown McCook. The size of the house is truly as big as it looks from the pictures. The house is 110 years old, so some stairs are a tad creeky or steep, and again, IT IS 110 years old, but it is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen seemed to have most everything one would need to prepare a large meal and there is plenty of space for everyone to eat. We were a party of 6 that stayed in 3 separate bedrooms. This home provided so much more than 3 separate hotel rooms and most likely at a better price. 3 couples could stay on their own floor of the house with their own bathroom. It is a great place to stay in McCook, NE!

We can’t say enough good things about the host and this wonderful historic house we were blessed in being allowed to borrow for a few days. Our favorite part of the house was the wrap around front porch and the yard. The inside space was more than enough to comfortably accommodate our family reunion. Even if you are not from McCook Nebraska, come and visit and stay here. Bring your entire family. Watch your young children play in the yard while you sip a drink on the porch and the others play card and board games inside. It’s like going back in time. Thanks for giving us memories we will cherish the rest of our lives.

the location was central to all our needs. everyone had their own space but common areas were comfortable and accommodating for everyone. kitchen was updated and easy to navigate. outside seating was perfect for evening chats.

Incredible!

This house is absolutely stunning, inside & out! Games/toys/puzzles puzzles offered to keep the kiddos entertained. Great entertaining space throughout the entire property. Everything was clean and plenty of kitchen amenities for use. The woodwork and detail inside are just phenomenal and so glad to see everything preserved.

Family funeral

The house was great, particularly for large groups. We even hosted lunch for 30 one day. We struggled to see how it sleeps 20. We had 17 and all the kids slept with their parents, and we had 2 in recliners. We loved all the outdoor spaces avaiable to gather, although the back porch lights either didn't work or blinked in and off. Would definitely use again.

Family Get Together

My husbands parents owned this house in the late 80’s and early 90’s. We thought it would be fun to get together for a weekend reunion with his siblings and our children as well as his parents. The house didn’t disappoint and brought back great memories for them. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans…. Everything worked as it should have and we had a great time. We all talked about doing it again in the future!

Great stay

What a great place to gather with extended family for our mom/mother in law’s services. Two families of four were able to stay here comfortably, while also having other family come over for a meal, etc. The house has two large sitting areas, one on the main floor and another on the second floor. Lots of little nooks and crannies around the house to sit, relax, and spread out. The bedrooms were a little bit misleading, but we made it work. There is one bedroom with a daybed on the ground floor. This bedroom also is a walk thru to the back door and has the only first floor bathroom attached. Second level has 3 bedrooms; 1 king, 1 queen with an attached bedroom with 2 twins. Third level has 2 bedrooms; 1 queen and 1 with 2 twins. The second level sitting room has two futons. Overall, it is a great older, historic home with updated bathrooms and kitchen.

Unique large house great for groups

The house was great for our stay and we really enjoyed it! Was perfect for a trip to lake swanson with extended family. It is very unique and full of character (decor and furniture to match the style and age of the house). The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and dining room could accomodate our group (had 17 for meals). Nice back patio area with seating as well. We had 13 people staying overnight and there was room for everyone, however had to use a queen air mattress provided to avoid people sleeping on couches/futons. The listing says it sleeps 20 but I think only if people were sleeping on couches and futons (or perhaps kids on padded windowsills). It showed a room with 3 twin futons, however there are only 2 and they would not be comfortable to use as beds, especially for an adult. It worked well so overall very pleased but feel this might be helpful for other large groups, especially if it's all adults.
