Very pleasant host and positive renting experience. The rooms were great and I loved the neighborhood. Excellent price for the property as well.

Great location!

We loved Culver City! Such a sweet neighborhood! Never been before but will happily stay there again if in L.A. again. Host is responsive to request/questions if you call. Beds were comfy. Large kitchen. Off-street parking helpful. Perfect for my family with kids traveling on a budget in L.A. Much appreciated!

Location was great . We were able to walk to downtown . Landlord communicated well with us. I would stay there again if in the area .

Great location

The house is situated in a lovely, safe neighborhood and my kids really loved how close the park was to the house. Food and other amenities were only a short drive away.

Great location

Everything was good, except for a small complaint: there were no coffee mugs, drinking glasses, or cups, which was an inconvenience. Also, cooking pots, utensils, etc. are very basic.

Great location, good price

This place met our requirements on location and price. Furnishings were functional, entertainment equipment was up-to-date, and beds were comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Of note: this is a shared property.

we arrived and it doesn't look like the photos, many dirty parts, there are no trash cans, we had to go out to eat in restaurants and we ought sheets for the beds and pillows. I also own properties in Florida, but I receive my clients very well. Clever

While the location and cost was great, the property was certainly jankier than I was expecting and the property owner was pretty bad with communication and was looking to place us in a different property.

Complete scam and horrible communication

Horrific experience and would never come here again. Could not get into the property. Called manager and he gave me directions to a different unit which was completely different (1 BR 1 bath instead of 2 BR 2 bath), had its door unlocked and ajar and no key provided. No advanced check-in information information provided.

Decent for the price, misses some pretty important basic things

pros: spacious, relatively inexpensive, good locationcons: not very clean (especially in the bathroom), no trash cans anywhere (not even in the bathroom), no plunger in the bathroom, thin walls to neighboring unit causing me to be awoken by a loud speakerphone call that I could hear both sides of at 8am, laundry for neighbors is in the unit so there's no way to lock the exterior door and thus no deadbolt to the outside, all bedding and towels washed with Gain "aroma boost" detergent which has extra fragrance and caused reactions for every member of our party including those not usually sensitive to fragrances (I had to go buy different detergent and re-wash everything to even be able to sleep or use the towels), sink disposal was clogged and not working and smelled bad upon arrival

Front lawn was a disaster, no iron or ironing board or coffee pot. No bathmats or wash clothes, however plenty bath towels. House fairly clean. Some blinds need replacing. One shower not usable, shower in the bathtub slippery so I purchased an inexpensive rubber mat and wash clothes.,

LA vacation

The whole stay from start to finish was a bit bizarre. There was no check in info posted, and during our travel day getting to LA we had no service, and arrived late to a realization that the host had double booked us. We didn’t get the property we paid for on the first night, but he did have three other units on the property where we did stay. All units we stayed in were quite unclean with hair in the shower, nail clippings on the bedroom floor, and lots of dust and other things on the floor. There is minimal dishes in the main suite and next to nothing in the other suites we were given thanks to the double booking, which was not ideal as we planned on consistent cooking. The host always answered quickly but as we were on vacation we were not always on our phones and multiple times I looked at my phone to 5-10 missed calls, and texts from the host telling us to answer. Once this was about getting a spare mattress from our unit to try and accommodate a last minute booking, and I ended up feeling quite stressed because he was calling so often, and being quite confrontational about me missing the phone calls. Overall it’s a cheap place in LA and the location is pretty great for visiting lots of different areas, but expect it’s on the lower end of how it’s advertised.

Meh

Host kept hounding me about turning AC off when I left property due to other surrounding renters complaining about noise from unit. Got back to location late at night and AC was no longer working and heat was unbearable inside house throughout the night. Called Host in morning and it started working miraculously again. I felt it was turned off so we wouldn’t waste energy. Spiders all over entrance to home. No kind of towels in kitchen to wipe hands. There is a connected section to the house as well as several other units nearby. Didn’t feel like we rented out the house to ourselves because of that. Closed off street for block party. Had no communication of this at all. Would highly recommend renting elsewhere.

L.A. quick trip

Wow! Nice neighborhood, nice house... Unfortunately that is were nice ended. The sofa was broken, could not zip up. Some ones slippers were left out, like they were watching TV. There is a moving sign in the yard... not sure if they already packed up the house to move, or just getting ready to. The floors had not been swept or mopped. I had to clean the bathroom floors, they were gross. A review on our stay…As we walked in… there were a pair of slippers in the living room, the back door was unlocked that led to another bedroom, which we had not rented. We ended up calling to make sure we were in the right place. We were. Let's start with the bathrooms…. Since there were no cleaning supplies at the place, we ran to the store for some sponges and paper towels. The floors had not been swept or mopped. So we cleaned the bathroom floors and showers.Bedrooms…. There is a for sale sign out front in the house. Not sure if they are just moving in or out…. There were 2 bedrooms, each with a queen mattress and box spring on the floor, complete with a Christmas comforter. There was nothing else in the rooms…. No art work on the walls, no other furniture.Kitchen…. Again… very ill equipped. There were 6 miss matched plates, some random silverware in a drawer and nothing else.So the house was in a nice neighborhood with lots of potential….Jennifer

You get what you pay for

I wanted to like this place. It’s a good location but aside from that it was hard to enjoy. All the floors were filthy (leaves, dirt, food; We had to stop our 1 year old from trying to eat food he found on them), countertops and sinks appeared unclean as well (hair in sinks, crumbles on counters), kitchen sink very slow to drain (water sat there for 1 hours), there were smells of urine strongest in the kitchen (maybe related to the sink not immediately draining), and there were no trash cans (or trash bags) in the entire house. The kitchen is not very functional (few to no dishes, silverware, or pots/pans). Also, this was NOT a whole house rental (not expected for VRBO). There is a bedroom attached to the house (shared a wall with the bedroom my son slept in) that someone else appeared to be living in it. We heard noises from the back of the house (there is a hallway door that separates our space from this additional room). When we went to explore the noise, we saw a room (labeled “master bedroom”) with an open door and a dog sitting on a bed (this room door was closed upon arrival). It wasn’t what we expected but I guess you get what you pay for.

Culver City Trip

The owner Mansour, and his wife were very pleasant and very accessible, via phone, when we needed things. The property is a nice home, but was not cleaned prior to our arrival. The mini blinds in the front bedroom need replaced and the one window in the bedroom needs the screen put on and fixed so you don't have to have a can of something holding it open. The kitchen needs to be better stocked with dishes, utensils, sharp knives, coffee make, pot holders, dish cloths, dish towels, paper towels, etc. There was hardly anything in the kitchen. There was a microwave, stove and frig, so that was a plus. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom when we got there, and the one bathroom had not been cleaned at all, nor the bedroom attached. The house smelled very strongly of pet urine in the kitchen (which they took care of the next morning) and it smelled much better the rest of our stay. Overall, it wasn't the worst VRBO we have stayed in, and I am guessing he is just starting out doing the VRBO thing. So any suggestions to him would be helpful to him. And you may want to express your needs in a message to Mansour, prior to your arrival to be assured everything is there.
