Two-tone Train Home! King bed, Pet friendly, Foosball!

Welcome to the two-tone train home! Our train-themed home is centrally located off Henderson street and about a mile from the downtown traffic circle. We offer a king bed, two twin beds and a full-sized pull out couch. A small laundry and dryer are located in the basement for those needing longer stays. We also provide a 65 inch roku tv ad well as a myriad of board games and a foosball table for family friendly tournaments!

This house is cozy and comfortable, being roughly 700 square feet. It offers a full sized kitchen, with everything needed to cook a family dinner. Beautifully remodeled bathroom with stand-up, walk-in shower. We offer a king size bed with ample storage for clothes and a dedicated work space for traveling workers. Additionally, we have a trundle bed consisting of two twin beds. In the living room we offer a full-sized pull out couch with a 65 inch TV and plenty of games for the kids. In the basement we have a small washer and dryer for those not wanting to go to the laundry mat.

Although we are pet friendly, we do require a one time $100 pet fee.

We love sharing our home with all our guests. However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage we will only accept booking requests from:
-- Renters who are above the age of 25.
--Renters who will be staying during the reservation and are not booking for someone else.
--Renters who have less than 5 star reviews.

***As with most homes in this area, we do get the occasional bugs in the basement. These include asian beetles, spiders, water bugs and the occasional cockroach. We do have the basement and outside foundation sprayed once per month. We just do not want any guests to be surprised if there is a dead insect in the basement.***

The communication with the Host(s) was amazing. Within minutes of our questions they provided a reply. The physical building was very, very clean and well organized. I really enjoyed my stay at the Two tone Train Home. Right from the start, communications with my hosts were excellent: friendly.. informative.. quick to respond.. everything that I needed to assure me that my stay would be great; which it was. AccessThe door benefited from an electric lock which worked a treat. Despite check in being 4pm, Matt agreed that I could actually access the property early - which was great as we were arriving a bit earlier then anticipated.State of the houseEverything was clean and ready for us. Beds made.. kitchen very tidy.. fridge cleaned.. bathrooms.. everything was fresh and clean. Additional bits There were a few amenities available to us that we actually didn’t have need to use. For example, we didn’t make use of the very large tvs, although there were ones there. The house also benefits from an electric thermostat - which controls both heating and air conditioning.We DID enjoy the basket of kurig coffees that were provided and the fully stocked kitchen of plates, cups, cutlery, drip coffee maker, pots, pans.. you name it, it was there. The basket also has things in it like oat meal; again, we didn’t make use, but it was great that it was available.LocationWhat can I say.. it was convenient for our purposes. Lovely neighborhood and close to the college - which was why we were there in the first place. All in all, everything was great and I would highly recommend this cosy property.

Property was located 1 block west of busy Henderson. Noise level inside house was minimal. Could hear train occasionally. Reasonable place to rent if looking to explore area. As noted in previous reviews, clean rooms, plenty of pillows, blankets. I would stay again.

Like Home Away From Home, But Literally

My wife’s childhood home was “overbooked” so we had to find other accommodations. The property was clean, nicely furnished, and very well-appointed—we didn’t have to break out most of the creature comforts we brought. And it was close to everything we needed. We were so easy here we're considering staying here by default!

One of the best VRBOs we've ever stayed in! It was super clean, comfortable, and quiet, checking all the boxes of a home away from home. Communication with they owner was excellent, too. We hope to stay again on a future trip to Galesburg!

Cute and cozy!

This place was just as described in a great way! It was easy to access the home with self check in. The inside was clean and clutter free. The kitchen had everything needed and even had complimentary coffee and oatmeal. The yard was well kept and big, which was great for my pups! We loved staying here and definitely will again if we come back to town.

Cute house, close to everything in town

Home away from Home

Love this place, this is our second stay here and it feels like home when we come. Neighborhood is quiet, easy to find, close to shopping and dining. First time using the washer and dryer, it is smaller but we were able to wash what we needed and worked fine for us. Hosts are easy to communicate with. Glad we got to stay again.
