Property located on Bayside Drive within a few steps from the bay and a short walk to the ocean. Property offers views of the bay just outside your front door. Within walking distance of most of the popular restaurants, coffee shops, and bars that mission beach offers.

Home is a small detached cottage that offers everything that you can possibly need for a small family or couple. It is equipped with a full bedroom and bathroom as well as a small kitchen, bistro sitting area and family room. Outside arrangements include a small private court yard to grill or just hang out and enjoy the nice weather that the San Diego coast offers.

Parking - 1 compact car in the garage.

Perfect place for my husband and I . Nice quiet neighborhood. Bay 1 minute to left beach 4 minutes to right . Very cute old cottage nice back patio. Bed is squeaky like others have said but it is comfortable. We always had a good night sleep. We cooked breakfast every morning and everything was there that we needed to cook. We liked how Josh called to give us all the information we needed. We will be back !!

The bathroom sink and bathtub had an extremely slow drainage, the bed was not comfortable at all, very springy, and the pillows were not very great. Other than that, the location was great and the owner was very responsive.

A Perfect Place to Stay!

This property was located at a perfect location between the bay and the beach. The walking distance to the shops and restaurants also made it convenient for us. We appreciated the covered garage and small patio.Absolutely Everything about this property was on point!! We recommend this cottage to anyone who plans to visit the Mission Bay area and have a fun, relaxing time. Thanks Josh and April !

Nice small cottage

Cottage is cozy and bed comfortable. Floor gritty from sand when arrived. Swept many times before went to beach ourselves but always felt gritty so we were tracking from outside into courtyard area. Has faint musty smell when entering in kitchen. Nothing unbearable and being close to water it is a common issue. Could use some updating but they did add microwave. I read some complaints about that. My only other suggestion would be a keurig but we brought our own mini. They have a coffee maker. The garage which is basically a shed fit a Mazdo CX50 but it took 2 of us to park for few days until we got the hang of it. It is snug and couldn't lift hatch once locked up. Keep the garage and car closed and locked up. No fault of owner but we briefly left car unlocked 6:30AM as I got used to it locking after a minute & in that short time had belongings stolen out of 3 doors in car garage! I was in/out of garage 5x within 15 minutes and had garage man door open going into courtyard. There are 2 adult foreign women alley trash bandits that I believe to be the culprits. They were tearing through trash bags looking for treasures. I felt safe in the area and only mentioning it as we got lazy and comfortable so I wouldn't want anyone else to fall victim to them. I believe they are locals possibly living nearby. This could happen ANYWHERE and would not deter me from staying there again! A little noisy outside on weekends but we arrived after graduation so not too bad considering. Book it

Very Cozy Cottage in an Ideal Location

This cottage is perfect for one or two and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a lovely, roomy outdoor patio for with couches and a large dining space for sunning, having a morning tea or evening cocktail. The Mission Beach location is away from the main road, just a few steps from the quiet bayside beach and across the street from the more lively ocean beach. There’s plenty of dining and shopping just steps away, and a full grocery store a few blocks away, in the bustling Pacific Beach neighborhood. We stayed for both business and pleasure, and were able to work in the quiet comfort of the living room and enjoy plenty of beach walks and restaurant/bar-hopping on our down time.We plan to return, perhaps for a more extended stay. Highly recommended!

We love this little house!!!

On our drive to San Diego, we received the code for the door to get the keys. The house was spotlessly clean and exactly as we remembered it. The backyard is nicely furnished with an umbrella table, chairs, two little love seats, side table, coffee table and a fire pit. For such a small space, it is nicely organized. This was our second year here. It is perfectly located between Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. A five-minute walk gets you to the Catamaran Hotel that has a great restaurant, outdoor seating with fire pits and entertainment on the weekends.

A HIDDEN GEM!!

If you are looking for a clean, cozy vintage 1940's beach cottage this is a definite MUST STAY! Perfect for a couples get away -steps away from Mission Bay and a couple blocks from Pacific Beach, complete with restaurants, coffee shops and beach shops. Super tiny garage on site, but our SUV (Chevy Blazer) fit, and we walked everywhere. Definitely want to come back!! Thank you Josh & April!J Scholl

Prime Location, great stay.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. This is a very small home, which we are used to so we loved it. If you are more than 2 people you will want a larger place. Lots of old charm, and the location is perfect for walking to both bayside & pacific walkways & beaches. It's within walking distance to many restaurants & bars, and a full service grocery store. The hosts provided essential cooking utensils, pots and pans, microwave & coffee maker, and stove/oven. We cooked about 50% and ate out 50%. Hosts were very responsive upon check in and when we had questions, very accommodating. They provided beach chairs, beach towels and bikes too along with a nice gas grill and a nice outdoor seating area.

Perfect little spot

Everything about this stay was perfect. The location was perfect. They have bikes available in the garage so you don’t have to worry about renting any which was a huge plus since that was our form of transportation. The communication with the property owner was excellent.Highly recommend and would stay again!

Mixed emotions

The location of this property is perfect. One half block from the bay and block and half from ocean. So it is very convenient for walks. There is also a nice grassy area to takes the pups to. There are many good restaurants within walking distance. Where I'm a little disappointed is there aren't any reading lamps in main room or bedroom, only overhead room lights. A couple of ceiling fans would work wonders, but there is a window A/C unit that works well. There isn't a microwave which would make things much nicer. The couch is dirty and the blanket that they have covering it needs a good washing, which is reflected in my scoring. Also there was an ant problem in the kitchen. The garage is nice to have but difficult to get into and out of. It is a cozy little place and overall comfortable I did enjoy my stay. Thank you Josh and April.

The cottage has great potential but needs some TLC. Contacted owner and he say they would take care of the items I mentioned. If he does it us a good rental.

Basic needs met

The listing is accurate. It is a VERY small space so if you are 5’5 or taller you are going to be doing a LOT of ducking. The shower is a removable showerhead and the pressure is fine, but it leaks a lot from the attachment to the wall. Because the ceilings are so low, the bottom of the shower curtain sits quite a but in the shower so i felt kinda gross when the water would pool and soak the curtain, so i just had to change the way i put the curtain so it didn’t do that. The couch was visibly dirty and stained and so was the chair in the living room. The location was great, but the garage definitely will only fit a compact car like the listing says. Its basically a shed they use as a garage. The patio furniture was all torn and worn so it wasn’t appealing to sit in. There were no dish towels just paper towels so i had to dry the dishes with paper towels. It seems like there really is very little care in this place. The hosts were very nice and helpful, but once you book he said they call you with the instructions instead of sending them so be aware of that. It was a place to stay, but I would not stay here again, and i would definitely not recommend a family staying there.

Cute little beach cottage

Mission beach cottage was comfortable and had easy access to Mission beach and bay. Centrally located. Enjoyed the bikes and beach toys. Manager was friendly and very helpful during check in and out. Will enjoy renting this cottage during next visit.

Vintage Beach Cottage with toys

Comfy cozy cottage in a very convenient location for walking to bay, beach and restaurants. Those over 6ft will not clear doorways, but the low ceilings are part of the charm. Both bed and couch were comfortable. Greatly appreciated the sand chairs, bikes and beach towels to use whenever we were inspired.

Perfect location

The location was everything! Having the bikes and the beach chairs, towels and toys was so nice it made beach days great. Having a kitchen and dishes for meals was nice. There is a grocery store not far from the cottage, which saves us money from not eating out every meal. However, the beds and bedding left much to be desired. The mattress on the bed was uncomfortable and the hide-a-bed was unusable. The hide-a-bed sheets were dirty upon arrival. My daughter had to sleep on the actual couch instead of the bed. I would say this rental is only for 2 people-3 made it tight. Other than the beds, it is a cozy cottage in a fabulous location for San Diego fun!

Awesome location

We loved our stay here. It was close to everything we needed. The beach on the ocean or the bay were just steps away. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The grocery store was only a 1/2 mile away. There are a couple bikes there to cruise around on. There are a couple beach chairs(back pack style) to take to the beach. We were able to park our Jetta in the garage. I’m 6’2” so I had to duck in a few low places in the ceiling of the house. We will return to this place when we go back to SD for some beach time.
