Palazzo Del Mar is a property that we discussed revisiting again. The gorgeous views and various sitting areas on each floor were a plus along with the main eating area made it a good and memorable fit for our group.

Perfect home for our family vacation! The house was absolutely amazing and the property management team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! The location couldn't have been better. Just disappointed it's already booked for next year. Definitely would love to come back here again! You couldn't ask for better amenities! We totally enjoyed our family time together here!

Best Experience Ever!

The house is phenomenal and was so beautiful, comfortable, and yet upscale. The management team and on-site support was incredible. They were super responsive and so knowledgeable about all of the "bells and whistles" in the house. Our family and friends had an amazing time and the views from the house of the beach were breath-taking. We would recommend it to anyone and definitely give it 10+++ on a scale from 1 to 10. It's worth every dollar!!!!

Exceeded Expectations!

This was my first time using Vrbo, and I booked it for a corporate retreat. It was perfect!!! The house is amazing, everything is so nice and clean. Everything was so convenient within a short distance, and the beach had the whitest sand and the water was so turquoise and clear. There's so much to do in the house that really there's no need to leave. It's very comfortable and I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway.

Beautiful and Amazing

The house is stunning, it was a perfect fit for our Executive team. Great combination of work with the board room and office and fun with the game room and movie theater. The recommended chef was amazing. The PM company was always available and very responsive. The beach was beautiful and the sunsets breathtaking.

Great house, but safety/privacy concerns

First let me say, the house is magnificent and huge! It’s exactly as pictured and it is beautiful! The service was TOP NOTCH! The property manager took care of a couple issues we had right away! With that said, I have mixed feelings on this house. There’s no question, it is huge and has lots of bedrooms! However the decor is a bit odd for a beach house. It kinda felt like stepping into another decade. The heavy cloth drapes on the windows blocked out a lot of the sunlight, which is really what you wanna see everyday while on the beach. The dark wood paneling everywhere made the house feel dark and drab. It’s beautifully done, it just felt nothing like a beach house. But the big negative to this house is it’s located right next to a PUBLIC BEACH ACCESS which made our area sooooo crazy crowded. Most days there were 4-5 rows deep of people lined up behind us. We had people walk right in between our circle of chairs to get to the beach. We had people try to set up chairs and umbrellas directly in front of our setup. It was a struggle everyday, there were people everywhere. With the public access gate being right there, tons of people walk in and plop down right there (which is in front of the house). All the traffic there just brought lots of problems. We had to shoo people off several times because they would walk up to the house since the exit is directly next to it. One evening a guy was there showering at the top of our stairs because he thought it was part of public access area, which was just steps away from where we had our kids swimming in the pool. One of our teens was sitting on our patio ledge and got slapped in the back by someone leaving the beach. (The beach access walkway runs along the side of the house.) We had to chase off 2 teens who were trying to jump our fence. We had several people stop us coming out of the house asking if they could come inside and see the house, they’d wanna know what the name of it was, how much it was etc. which is super annoying when you’re just trying to relax on vacation. With the mass amounts of people there, it was impossible to escape the crowds. It’s also next to a huge condominium bldg which just adds to the congestion. There was also 4 weddings while we were there and the wedding setup is DIRECTLY in front of the house, which brought even more people traffic. We’ve been coming to Destin for 10 years and have never had an experience like this.

Sorry this took so long to go submit. This property perfectly accommodated our small family ceremony. Not sure there could have been a better result. The people the facility the entire experience was amazing and anyone looking to have this type of event on the beach would not be disappointed in any way whatsoever!! A 10+

Amazing stay at a beautiful house

This place is as advertised. It is such an amazing property right on the beach. There is plenty of space to spread out to not feel on top of one another if you have a large group. The movie theater was a hit with everyone of all ages and the adults enjoyed the poker table and billiards table by the bar. The beach service was awesome as well. JR, the concierge/house and beach manager, went above and beyond with everything to make sure we were good. He always made sure our chairs and umbrellas were setup and ready to go. He also set us up with a paddle board and kayak when we asked. JR was also very responsive on any question or issue that we had for the house. All in all it was an amazing trip and we would highly recommend this property to anyone with a large group.

Outstanding House and Service!

From the moment we walked in the front door, we were amazed by this home! Or should I say mansion!? WOW! There was room for everyone in our party plus some! There is plenty of seating and activities throughout the house and believe me when I say we took advantage of every single one! We love Destin, but we hardly wanted to leave the house. The pool with the gulf view was breathtaking and each balcony had a telescope so that we could see dolphins in the distance. The updates recently added to the home were beautiful and the service from Five Star was even better! We love this company and we LOVE THIS HOUSE!

GREAT place. New patio is off the charts.

This house is awesome. It’s huge, yet very comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. We had 24 people from seven different families throughout the stay and the home worked perfectly for the group. The best part about the house is the new patio on the first floor. It is so new that they hadn’t published pictures of it prior to our arrival so it was a very nice surprise upon our arrival. The floor is travertine (very clean and elegant looking). A brand new outdoor kitchen with granite countertops, sink, fridge and a big gas grill saw a lot of action as did the large hot tub and pool. The hot tub cascades into the pool which has underwater barstools along a swim up bar top that overlooks the gulf. There are also multiple fire features which created a great place to hang out at night. This is the nicest place I have ever stayed and one of the best vacations our family has ever had.

Stunning! Best property in Destin by far.

This property is nothing short of spectacular. It is better in person than it is in the pictures. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a recently hired house manager who gave us a short tour of the home and demonstrated how to use the primary features of the home (A/C, Elevator, T. V’s, music, theater, etc.). I had read a prior review where a guest had a few issues with these things so I paid close attention during the short demonstration and everything worked just fine throughout the week. The house manager was not only very knowledgeable about the home but he was available upon request throughout the week for any questions we had. I have stayed in a lot of beach homes in Destin and none of them come even close to this home. Everything in this home is meticulously cared for and there is a luxurious, yet very comfortable and family-friendly feel to this home. The home is perfect for multiple families as it has multiple community gathering areas (like the 2nd floor sports bar and theater area), but also has plenty of space to get away from one another as needed. I will definitely vacation here again.

Beauitful Beach House

The house and furnishing were great---a real luxury mansion. We had our family reunion here and had a great time. However, there were some unpleasant experiences. The lady who met us on arrival was not very familiar with the house, e.g., she did not know how the entry gate worked or when garbage was picked up. The air conditioning system was very confusing to use. We could not get the system to maintain the selected temperature. No matter what temperature was selected most of the units ran all the time. There were no controls on the third floor. We were told by the maintenance people that the only control available was in a locked closet that only the owner could open. Maintenance personnel tried to help us but nothing seemed to work. We had two babies on the third floor and the temperature in their room in the morning was 68 degrees. Air conditioning technicians were supposed to work on the third floor unit on Wednesday but they did not show up. All the TVs in the house are controlled with Ipads. There were no instructions so we had to experiment to learn how to use the Ipads to find the desired channel. Some of the Ipads were connected through WiFi and the hard wired Ipad was on the first floor. A person using this Ipad could change the channels on all the TVs and this happened a lot until we learned how to use the system. My TV on the 4th floor was connected through the WiFi. One night when I was ready for bed the Ipad lost WiFi connection. The only way I could turn off the TV was to go down to the first floor Ipad. Isn't technology wonderful. What happened to the old fashioned remote controllers. Most rentals we have used had a guest book with instructions on how every thing worked. This house does not have one and it definitely needs one. The beach was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay but for the price we paid we expected things like the air conditioners and the TVs to work better. I will not be back.

Best Beach House Ever!

This beautiful home has every luxury provided for you - from heated swimming pool to poker and pool tables to a kitchen made for cooking for large crowds. It is located in the beautiful Crystal Shores neighborhood of Destin - away from the chaos of the high rise hotels and tourist traps. The Destin beach and water is among the most beautiful in the world! We cannot say enough about this great property. Celebrated my husband's 40th birthday party with seven couples and the house accommodated everyone with lots of space and luxury! Superb vacation!

Luxurious property we plan on staying in again

This home was by far the most exquisite property we have ever stayed in!! We have rented homes multiple times a year for over 20 years. Everything you could possibly imagine was in this home. All the furnishings and decor are high-end. We slept so well in the master bed that we are buying the exact same bed for our own home. Lastly, having three dishwashers was a treasure for our Chef and it helped with keeping the kitchen clean at all times. We look forward to coming back again next year!

Absolutely amazing!!!

Truly amazing home, beautifully furnished. Great outdoor seating areas on all the patios and balconies. We had 17 adults and 6 children and never felt the least bit crowded. The photos do not do it justice. Have already booked for next year.

Palazzo del Mar: A Palace by the Sea!

This 11 bedroom, 14 bathroom mansion is magnificent! Large sleeping quarters, enough in-door entertainment space, and endless views from the porches and decks make this the perfect rental property for large groups. This home is ON THE GULF and provides private access to the pristine beaches of Destin. The carriage house is also spacious and can provide sleeping arrangements for an entire family! This home hosted a friends getaway for three families and we could not have been more delighted and comfortable. The private pool that overlooks the beach and the Gulf provided our kids with hours of fun. The listing description was accurate and no picture could do this masterpiece justice. Everything in the home was working flawlessly and the cleanliness was second-to-none. Five Star was great in helping us pick a property to accommodate our large group. We highly recommend Five Star and Palazzo del Mar.

Palazzo Del Mar review

The house is beautiful. Excellent for large families. We had 4 couples and 7 children and had plenty of room. Fanatastic views. A few minor maintanence issues, as to be expected with a house of this size. Overall, wonderful stay. One important note. There are cameras all over the inside and outside of the house. We have stayed at many large estates. Of course, they all have camera systems but without exception we have been informed they were off or not being monitored. You never truly know but at the Palazzo the manager made it clear that it was monitored by himself and the home owners. Had we known this we may not have stayed there. Just wanted to advise future renters. Celebrities may choose elsewhere or at least discuss prior to reserving. Other than that, stay was fantastic. House is very nice and very convenient. Nice features. Pool on the smallish side but nice for small children. Excellent amenties.
