Construida como una escapada de invierno y verano para una pareja o una familia pequeña, esta hermosa cabaña de troncos de cuatro estaciones es única. El sitio es extremadamente privado en un entorno muy salvaje y pintoresco en el famoso Chippewa Flowage ... a solo 17 millas de Hayward. El 'Flowage es un lago de 17,000 acres con cientos de islas y 200 millas de 95% a orillas del lago sin desarrollar. Es uno de los lagos salvajes más famosos del norte de Wisconsin y la región de los lagos Hayward. ¡La casa hace un maravilloso retiro de cuatro estaciones ... muy privado ... con espectaculares y privadas vistas al agua!

La cabaña de troncos de estilo Adirondack se encuentra en una gran parcela de 60 acres con una abundancia de frente al lago en un entorno boscoso muy privado. Las vistas desde la casa son 100% naturales ... ¡nada más que árboles y costas sin desarrollar! El gran porche con pantalla tiene excelentes vistas al lago, lo que hace que las cenas nocturnas parezcan al aire libre ... la fogata junto al lago y las sillas crean un gran lugar para la reflexión o los asados de malva de pantano ... el sendero arbolado privado de 3/4 de milla está bordeado con enormes pinos y es perfecto para paseos tranquilos ... la gran sala de la cocina está decorada en una decoración clásica de Northwoods con muchas piezas de muebles rústicos hechos a mano. (La cabaña y gran parte de los muebles rústicos fueron construidos por el propietario). El loft-dormitorio del segundo piso tiene tres camas ... dos dobles y una individual ... es muy espacioso y está forrado con ventanas que crean hermosas vistas al lago. Pisos de madera, muebles rústicos y una gran cantidad de ventanas se suman a la sensación de Northwoods de esta propiedad única.

La casa está ubicada en la esquina noreste del famoso y salvaje Chippewa Flowage. Las aventuras de remar o navegar en bote por el río son fáciles y cercanas, y un paseo en bote de remos por la bahía es aún más fácil. Nice place

The winter-to-spring transition was happening. Exceptional sunlight across river ice and that bracing smell of melting snow. River otters were playing. And eagles were prospecting nest sites. Didn't see another person while we were there.

Great little Cabin

Great little Cabin in the middle of the Woods. If you are looking for some peace and relaxation, this is the place. We loved the screened porch because the Mosquitoes were really bad when we got there !!! Our 2 dogs were in heaven, seeing & barking at all the different Wildlife. Fred is a great and generous Host, who will help you with all of your needs & questions. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your great cabin. Mark & Chris and the 2 dogs

Perfect Cabin

Cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Great solitude and a breathtaking view from the cabin & dock. Our only regret was not asking the owners for some fishing spots because we didn't catch much. Our fault! Thanks Fred & Sue. Tried to leave the cabin as clean as we found it, hope we didn't let you down! We will be back but next time with a fishing guide.

Gorgeous & Breathtaking

We have had the pleasure to experience this beautiful home multiple times! I can’t explain enough how amazing it is. We drive specifically from the burbs of Chicago to come here. There are so many attributes- the stunning cabin, the amazing lawn & yard (It is fun chopping wood!!!), kayaking, making s’mores on the pit, fishing at the break of dawn, reading on deck, the sunset, the quiet. ;) Fred has been the best each and every time! And We Thank you Dearly!!!

Wonderful cabin

What a great experience! The cabin was rustic but immaculate...simple but with everything needed. We had a great time as a family disconnecting and spending time together. What a treasure! Lastly, I found the photos be a highly accurate representation of what to expect. Note the other structure in the photos is a small storage building. I wondered if it was the owners residence when I first saw it, but it was not. Tons of privacy.

Thank you for your kind note! We also love the cabin...I built it myself 25 years ago as a quiet retreat for my then young family. The cabin is still an important place in our lives but one we now can share with others. The simple rustic nature of the cabin and the amazing privacy it affords is instantly calming....every time I walk in the door I do so with a smile. And yes the storage shed does look like a little cabin...and no we have never lived there...LOL!! Best Fred and Sue.

Relaxing cabin to get away from it all!

We enjoyed relaxing by the lake, having a fire, reading in the hammock on the porch, and dinner on the porch. It was a little bit creepy sleeping at night as our dogs woke us up quite a bit as they must have heard things. I snuck down stairs to turn the light on quick and found rodents scurrying across the floor and counters. So the dogs knew they were there and letting us know there were rodents in the house. I advise to keep food in fridge and cooler to keep the rodents and ants out. Other than that, it was a pleasant place to stay and a great location on the flowage. Perfect weather the weekend we went.

I am glad Lori enjoyed her stay. I am also sorry she experienced some field mice in the cabin. Fall is the time of year they seek out a warm spot...it is a normal northwoods thing. We do trap them immediately when they arrive but sometimes guests do experience their presence.

The Essence of White Magic

This was a winter retreat for our 26th anniversary with our 2 dogs. It was really a beautiful experience. The cabin is perfect for small groups ( large room with 3 large beds. The screened in porch and back porch were amazing and I can imagine how beautiful it is in summer and fall. We got snowshoes which was perfect. The flowage is lowered in winter so the side of banks are safe to snowshoe or cross country ski on ( we did both) Each night we marched out to a certain spot where a larger root/ driftwood was exposed with the lowering of the water. It was a great bench to watch the sunset. Deer would come out everywhere… the white terrain was magic to our soul. Our dogs were in heaven. Thank you for sharing your craft and lil slice of magic!!!

Nice Place

Nice little get away. If the weather was better and fish were biting, it would have been a wonderful time. The cabin is nice, very clean and inviting, great screened in porch and back deck. It is obvious the owner has put a lot of love into this cabin as can be see with the unique, little details throughout . However, on our first two nights, the neighbors were quite loud so we didn't even bother with a camp fire as we would have just spent the time listening to the loud voices and swearing. Disappointed that there were neighbors close enough to have an influence on our time since the description makes it sound as though this property is 100% secluded. We also found the beds to be creaky and uncomfortable so sleeping for us was poor. The property and scenery is gorgeous with wildlife coming literally right up to the door - as I was surprised by a deer early one morning having hostas for breakfast. Classic Wisconsin Northwoods experience.

We are sorry the neighbors were loud....I will speak with them about their guests. Our closest neighbor is a 1000 feet away...but sound carries easily over water. For lake property this cabin is very secluded....but not soundproof to other homes on the bay. Beds are handmade log beds....I imagine they do creak a bit. We are sorry this guest did not have a 5 star experience..,,most our guests do and it is what we strive for.

Worth Every Penny and More

It is hard to put into the words the truly wonderful experiences I have had at this cabin get-a-way. My husband and I (and other various family and friends) have stayed here twice in the past few years and we have truly wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime. The listing description is 100% accurate and although my sister actually booked the property both times with the owner, she expressed how helpful, honest and personable he was. The cabin itself was so awesomely rustic but at the same time provided all the ammenities that we needed. The screened in porch was definatley the highlight for me as I could snuggle up with a book and a blanket or take a nap in the hammock. At night we sat around with cocktails and played cards and board games with the wonderful woods and view of the moonlit water surrounding us. We have gone both times in mid to late September which provided perfect "snuggle" weather. The smell of the wood burning fireplace is the icing on the cake. I am revisiting this sight now as we are looking to come back for the 3rd time sometime in 2011, this time with our daughter who will be 3 then. With the lake activites and surrounding woods, I think it will be a wonderful famiy get-a-way. And it is close enough to town to provide easy access to the grocery store or shopping for a day. Can't wait to come back!!!

Although I never solicit reviews it has been nice to see the public feedback from some of my guests this summer...in this case a repeat guest from Iowa. We have an on site guest book that has dozens of positive reviews...never we have had any negative feedback. Our family retreat is a special place that we are happy to share and we appreciate those guests that find it special in the way our family has for over 20 years. The simplicity and the privacy combine to create an atmosphere that say "relax", and most of us do!!
