Beautiful Waterfront Home on Watauga River

Brand new to VRBO June 1st 2023. Gorgeous and completely remodeled waterfront home on the beautiful Watauga River. The house was completely remodeled in 2023 with all new windows, life proof flooring, granite countertops, appliances, new black metal roof, new interior and exterior paint, new composite front door, new lights and fans, landscaping, etc. This is a $500K immaculate home right on the river. You might stay somewhere cheaper but you will not stay anywhere nicer in this area. Please look at our cabin VRBO #2196043 if you need something smaller yet just as beautiful, its really made for 2 people but will sleep 4 if needed.

The house includes a brand new 12' x 12' Trex river dock with stainless steel cables for railing, so as not to diminish the river views. There is also a brand new private boat ramp for those coming in to fish or kayak. Excellent place for a large group or a small group and all the comforts of home. The river deck and mountain deck will be furnished with furniture (not pictured yet), and a grill on the mountain deck. You can fish nearly 300 feet of the river along the property bank. In the summer months you will see lots of rafters, kayaks, and drift boats going by. The house is located on the main road to Wilbur Dam, and is 3 miles downstream from the dam, and not in a floodplain. The back yard has a large chainlink fence for your pets containment and safety, with direct access from the french doors off of the mountain deck.

From the front of the house all you see is the beautiful river flowing by, from the sides of the house and back all you see is the beautiful Holston Mountain Range. The house has brand new appliances, furniture, mattresses, etc. Incredible entertainment package with Direct TV and a 75" Ultra 4K Samsung in the den and a 65" Samsung Ultra 4k in the primary bedroom. Bose wave radio. Front load washer and dryer for long stays. The front porch will have rocking chairs. More pictures to come. Book now for your next getaway in a spectacular setting. Mountains and river in all directions, yet only 10 minutes to town.

This was a getaway weekend that included a concert at Hard Rock Casino. This home was perfect to accommodate 4 adults and 2 dogs, it was an easy commute to the casino, and a grocery store a few minutes down the road. This home is well kept and very clean. We had a very peaceful and relaxing trip to include some fishing along the the property.

This home is more than you could ever expect. Not only is it feet from the Watauga River, it is immaculate inside and out. Everything you could possibly need is thoughtfully provided. We loved sitting on the front porch at night listening to the river. You truly feel welcome and at home in this property. We will definitely be returning soon.

Amazing and Much Needed Vacation!

I had a wonderful time at this property. I’ll admit I was slightly underwhelmed when I first arrived, only because I had imagined the water would be directly behind the home—I was looking forward to having my morning coffee by the water. However, once I settled in, everything exceeded expectations.The house itself is beautiful—comfortable, clean, and full of character. Host Mike was fantastic, offering great suggestions on local things to do. He quickly hit it off with my husband and encouraged him to go fishing one last time. That trip resulted in an unforgettable catch: a large brown trout that chased and ate his smaller rainbow trout right at the shore!As a Doctor of Nursing Practice in critical care, I’ve been working nonstop for the past six months without a single day off. I don’t unwind easily. But Mike’s home—and his welcoming hospitality—made it possible for me to truly relax and slow down, even if just for a little while. I’m grateful for the peace I found during this stay.

Relaxing river retreat

Awesome rental. Very clean. Wonderful front porch views of the river. Owner was incredible. Made sure to check in on us while we were there. Fully intend to stay again when we come back.

We were in town for a 60th birthday party nearby and this place was perfect. We loved being right on the river and the sunsets were beautiful. Mike was such a great host and had recommendations when we needed them :)The master bedroom was so comfy and had heated blankets for when it was chilly! The entertainment system was awesome and we loved watching movies. The fenced in backyard was great for our little one to play outside, and the front porch was perfect for sittin and sipping refreshments morning and night.We definitely hope to be back in the fall :)

Beautiful location

The host, Mike, was very responsive and communicated with us before, during, and after our stay. We came in town for a graduation from ETSU and wanted a few days to explore and relax. The house is beautiful and a fenced backyard was such a bonus for us because we have dogs. The deck on the river made for relaxation during the day and evening. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a space to relax and enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee! This was a beautiful place to unwind and spend time with family!

Relaxing

This home is beautiful with breathtaking views of the mountains from the back deck. The host is very nice and easy to talk to. The check in and out was so easy I highly recommend.

Upper Watauga

Perfect location for fishing and access to fishing. The house is perfect to relax in after a day on the river. Mike Mead is very friendly and keeps the house in good order. We are already planning our next stay.

I wish I could stay longer!

We had a wonderful time! It was perfect for us. The view was beautiful and the house was updated. There is a fence in the backyard even. We have tall men in our family and the living room seating was very comfortable with leather couches that reclined. We spent Christmas there and would do it again. The host was reachable and very nice. I am so pleased.

What a beautiful place to stay! We enjoyed our time there visiting with family. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday inside and outside. Easy access to the Watauga River and Local places. This place has everything you need. We highly recommend and will definitely be back to enjoy ourselves here again. Mike was a great host. Very kind and easy to get a hold of if needed. Perfectly Cozy

This property proved to be the perfect place for a small family gathering. The bedrooms are roomy and the kitchen / dining room and living room spaces were perfect for us. It was clean and inviting and had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. The home was all decked out with Christmas decor which really added to our wonderful experience. Check in was effortless and communication with Mike was easy, as he provided us with clear instructions from our online reservation through check out. Didn't get to check out the riverside deck due to cold weather, but will definitely consider this property again if we need a place to stay in the future!

Beautiful and clean

Great lighting outside. Very nice inside. Roomy and comfortable. Very clean and well maintained. Only needs a lamp in back bedroom and 1or 2 in living room. Overall we enjoyed this home and the location very much.
