Two spring fed lakes and four miles of private trails and roads are on this one of a kind private property, a large estate rental in Vilas County. Enjoy a sandy beach and docks ( lake areas, boats, and Kayaks are free on a first come, first served, and shared with our Red Cedar House a short distance nearby.
All new kitchen appliances and counters make serving meals convenient for seating up to 20 in the Great Room. Two bathrooms inside and a beach shower house allow the use of four showers at the same time. Large smart TV.
This property is an ideal venue for large family gatherings, church retreats, weddings and reunions. For even larger groups see Red Cedar House VRBO listing 3318290 located a short distance on the same property. Combined the two properties can sleep 33 without the use of futons, couches or basement beds.
Also a few hundred yards away is the Lando paved bike trail, the 75 mile Michigan wilderness trail system, and also the public beach on Black Oak Lake, known as the clearest lakes in Wisconsin.

Family Reunion

This is a beautiful property with a lovely private lake. Our family particularly enjoyed swimming, canoeing, kayaking and campfires at sunset.

Perfect serenity

This is a beautiful property, with absolutely breathtaking views. The opportunities for recreational activities: swimming, fishing, biking, canoeing are boundless. We enjoyed having fires, fishing, eating, and had everything we needed. Sandy and Steve were friendly hosts. We will likely return unless we find our own place first!!!

Peaceful!

Relaxing and rejuvenating, quiet and solitude at these rustic cabins with modern conveniences. Very private. Hosts are attentive and kind. It is evident they are committed to an excellent stay for guests. Lake and property are private and one of a kind. Would stay again!

Wonderful rustic cabin getaway

We had a great time in the rustic lodge! Lots of space for everyone and extra fridge and freezer in basement was a bonus! The property is very nice and very quiet, even with people renting the other house on the property! The lake was nice and private. We swam, floated, fished and kayaked. Enjoyed bonfires every night! Steve and Sandy were wonderful hosts and answered our messages quickly! We would love to come back and stay again😊

Family time

We had a great time in a beautiful area. Lots of swimming, games, good food, art and music! The kids stayed in a fun quaint out building which they loved. There were 3 showers, extra freezer and fridge space in the basement which was nice. We had some issues with the oven and WiFi but the owners were not far so they were able to help us quickly. We had to share the beach area with another house which was fine but the other group had an issue with the dogs being around the kids… this was a bit of a bummer. Why would you come to a place that allows pets then? We did not catch much fish but I am sure they are in there… maybe some tips for how to fish the lake would have helped… but plenty of other lakes in the area. Overall we had a great time and our hosts were lovely!

An Excellent Vacation

Our family had the most enjoyable time ever. There was more than enough to do. Our grandkids and family kayaked, rode bikes, swam, canoed, went for boat rides and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were wonderful, and the rustic cabin was a delight to stay in. We only went to town for more supplies. The hosts provided the kayaks, canoes, rowboat, life vests and bikes. We look forward to returning. A beautiful place.

Upnorth Paradise!

We had the absolute best vacation here! Only negative was that it was too short! There was something for each one of the kiddos to enjoy. Our son,13 loved the paddle boat and fishing. Our daughter, 12 loves to cook so the kitchen was perfect for her! And our youngest daughter, 10 loved the beach and finding rocks! Both dogs were also right at home. We loved the peacefulness! We can't wait to come back!

Peaceful and beautiful

The property is so serene and beautiful. The cabin was appropriately modern and quite rustic and absolutely as described. All amenities were as described and we felt well accommodated. Stephen, Sandy, and Ben were tremendous hosts, and we were grateful they shared the property with us through VRBO. Our kids and our dog on his first vacation ever, enjoyed the beach area and swimming in the private lake which was quite clean. We were able to canoe/kayak/fish with no concern of other boaters. Two otters visited from a distance, bald eagle swung by to say hello, and the loons sounded beautiful when they stopped by. Fishing was tremendous from both the pier and the row boat, catching and releasing over 50 fun fighting northern and 50 bullheads in the 20 or so hours we fished in total. Gorgeous and relaxing fire pit overlooking the lake was awesome at night, we grilled on the open fire pit several times and enjoyed the outdoor experience here. Trails were easy to navigate and explore on this beautiful one of a kind property. Checkin and out easy, hosts made sure we felt at home and they communicated very efficiently maximizing our time enjoying the property’s beauty and solitude. Absolutely would love to come back here for another peaceful week in the future, truly a unique north woods experience of a private lake and acreage to explore. Amazing and thank you for sharing this with us.

We have 6 children and 24 grandchildren who love the property and have used it for family reunions and spiritual and church retreats. For the first time we are offering the property to the public using the funds to support a private foundation.
