This elegant 18th century house with 11 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms (all of them en-suite) is located near Saint Rémy de Provence in the town of Mouries between Eygalières and Maussane. Mouriès is known for its olive oil production, calling itself "the olive oil capital of France." It is a 25 minute drive to Arles, and less than 45 minutes away from Avignon (TGV station), Aix-en-Provence, and the Marseille airport, ideally located to explore the great sites and festivals of Provence.

This grand house has graceful volumes and noble proportions. It was gut renovated in 2023 using the finest materials and finishes, while retaining original details such as the main stone staircase, vaulted stone ceilings in the reception rooms, and original encaustic tile floors. The ground floor includes three reception rooms including a cozy library, a music room (with a baby grand piano), and a living room with an impressive stone fireplace. Upstairs from the salon is a game room with a television and billiard table. The elegant dining room can seat up to 28 people around two large marble dining tables and is decorated with a wall fresco in warm terracotta tones inspired by the geometrical paintings of abstract artist, Auguste Herbin. The spacious new country kitchen is fully stocked with luxury faience dinnerware and a large Lacanche stove. A kitchen island and counter with bar seating allows your group to cook meals together should you wish, and the kitchen table on the other side of the room can seat 14 guests.

The eleven bedrooms in the house have been furnished with an aesthetic mix of antique and contemporary pieces and every single bathroom has been newly done with new sinks, tubs, toilets, and fixtures. They all have air central conditioning. We have a gym with treadmill, elliptical, and weights. All of the bedrooms have beautiful open views onto the gardens and the hay meadows.

The ancient allée of plane trees lining the front of the house are landmarked by the town and offer a comfortable shade in the summer time. In the garden you will find a decorative fountain and other intimate areas where you can relax while admiring the flowers and nature. Throughout the grounds are mature fruit trees (figs, cherries, apples and pears) and also an old-fashioned stone wash basin and well. Beyond the hedges is a 19 meter swimming pool trimmed in local stone and heated when appropriate.

This exceptional house faces full south and overlooks a 50 acre estate. Between the months of January to March you will see hundreds of sheep from the Alps grazing in our pasture as they stopover in Provence during the seasonal migration (transhumance) between the low-land pastures and the alpine meadows.

This eleven-bedroom house can comfortably sleep up to 22 people.

Mouries is two minutes away and has all the commodities.
