Beautiful condo! Great view of the slopes, especially at night! No complaints whatsoever. So quick and easy getting to skiing and to other local attractions. Clean and plenty of space. Well stocked kitchen if you feel like cooking. You will not be disappointed about the location if you are coming to Sugar Mountain.

Loved the whole experience. Great view of the mountains and slopes. House was as advertised. My wife and I took our 14 & 10 year old granddaughters for a ski trip. All good. 150 yards to the first lift and 200 yards to the main lodge. Close enough to walk down the hill. House was clean and organized with plenty of supplies and cooking utensils. Newer appliances and nice furniture and beds. Love the gas fireplace. Host communicated almost every day.

This is a beautiful condo with plenty of space. It has gorgeous views and close proximity to Sugar Mountain, just a short drive down the hill. It's about 30 minutes away from Blowing Rock and a similar drive to Boone. The deck view is fantastic. We didn't cook in the kitchen, but it appears to have all the necessary items. Bathrooms were adequately stocked with nice towels and washclothes. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I would definitely stay again at the rental.

Great Sugar Trip

This property was perfect for a quick weekend ski trip. You can walk down to the ski slopes if you want or it is a very short drive. House is very clean and well appointed.

Wonderful stay! We really enjoyed our time at Sweet Retreat. Owner was extremely friendly and responsive and the chalet had everything we could possibly need. It is beautifully decorated with nice upgraded bathrooms and skylights for natural lighting. Great view from balcony. Kitchen has very nice appliances. I liked that it was high enough up for a beautiful view but not so high up that driving up to it would make your stomach turn. Very private at a dead end road. Quick access to Sugar Mountain and other nearby towns like Banner Elk, Beech Mountain. We hope to be back soon!

Relaxing Retreat

Very nice home. Beautiful views and gracious/communicative hostess. Easy access to hiking and other activities. Comfortable home with plenty of amenities. Great neighborhood for morning and afternoon dog walks. Very quiet, but when music is playing at the ski resort, you can sit out on the deck and enjoy the music.

Great location for ski access

This house is a 2 minute drive to the Sugar Mountain ski center so you can be on the slopes quickly, and you can easily go “home” to eat or rest during the day. If you want to be in the middle of winter sport action (skiing/tubing/skating) this a great property. Some people may not appreciate the lights, noise, and nightly machine maintenance that go along with being slope side but we loved it. The house is large and easily accommodated our family of 6. The furniture/decor is comfortable and practical for groups with plenty of room to store your skis and boots. The host was quick to respond to the questions we had throughout our stay. We will def rent this property again in the future.

Hi, I’m Mindy! I split my time between S. Florida and the mountains of North Carolina, and Sugar Mountain has become one of my favorite places to escape, recharge, and enjoy nature.

I’ve always loved creating beautiful, comfortable spaces where people can relax and feel at home. Hosting on VRBO allows me to share this special mountain retreat with guests who want to enjoy everything the area has to offer — from skiing and hiking to cozy evenings with a glass of wine by the fire.

My goal is to make sure every guest has a wonderful stay, whether you’re here for adventure, a romantic getaway, or simply some quiet time in the mountains. I’ve tried to think of the little details that make a stay easy and enjoyable, and I’m always happy to help with recommendations or anything you may need during your visit.

Sugar Mountain is one of the most beautiful areas in the North Carolina High Country. What makes it so special is the combination of mountain views, fresh air, and year-round activities.

In the winter, the ski slopes are just minutes away, making it a perfect destination for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. In the warmer months, the area transforms into a paradise for hiking, biking, golf, and exploring nearby waterfalls and scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I love that Sugar Mountain feels peaceful and tucked away in nature, yet you’re still close to great restaurants, wineries, charming mountain towns like Banner Elk, and local festivals throughout the year.

Welcome to your spacious mountain retreat! Our 3BR/3BA home features two master suites. The upstairs ensuite with full private bathroom offers a king bed (NOTE: this master suite does NOT have air conditioning; however, the ceiling fan, 2 tower fans and oscillating fan allows fresh mountain air to keep the area cool).
The entire main floor offers full air conditioning. The main floor ensuite with full bathroom offers a queen bed with easy main floor access. The main floor third bedroom has a queen bed.
All bedrooms offer luxury mountain style linens and a smart TV. The main floor also offers a full guest bathroom.
Need more space? Two twin air mattresses are available. The great room offers vaulted ceilings, a cozy fireplace, and large windows with beautiful views. Enjoy a large flatscreen TVs with streaming/cable. The open air floor plan connects the great room, kitchen and dining room into the perfect area to spread out and enjoy.
A modern fully equipped kitchen is a chef dream ideal to prepare meals.
Enjoy plush towels, newly renovated bathrooms and complimentary toiletries. Plenty of space for groups, families and friends to spread out and create a lasting mountain memory.
Step onto the balcony for fresh air and mountain views—perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. Located in the heart of the High Country, you're just a short walk to skiing, tubing, and ice skating, and minutes from hiking, rafting, wineries, golf, and more.
