Well designed getaway

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The home was within walking distance of a grocery store, a scenic bridge, and downtown Brunswick. Also, our dog really liked the home. The owner was very responsive to our calls and questions. We had a very nice weekend. Thanks.

Can't wait to return!

My family just spent Christmas weekend at the beautiful house in Brunswick. We were all impressed when we walked in the door and saw how warm and welcoming the entire house looked with the Christmas trees lit and flameless candles flickering on the tables. We hosted a Christmas Eve buffet for some family and friends and it was a perfect spot for entertaining. The kitchen & dining room had everything we needed for food preparation, as well as plenty of dishes for serving . We will definately stay here again next time we visit the area. Thanks to Rennie for providing us with a great rental!

Lovely House, colorful & Relaxing!

We came down to Brunswick from Montreal, and stayed at the Colorful Cottage.We absolutely loved everything about the house. The kitchen has everything you need. The hot tub was nice and clear, cute little backyard, and Tv's/dvds in every room. My 17 year old son was happy to find the desktop at the house! I loved the book collection at the house. There's 2 bikes at the house, Downtown Brunswick is only 1 block away. Lot's of resturants & stores. We went to the museums at the Bowdoin College. Also went to Little Tokyo and The Great Impasta. Lovely food. Thanks to the owners, for being so helpful! Would love to stay here again sometime! Grace Bouchard Montreal Canada

Fantastic rental!

We stayed in the Brunswick house for 2 nights this past weekend. There were 4 adults (2 couples) and our 2 little dogs. Rennie was a pleasure to rent from! She was great with follow up and got back to me whenever I had a question. The photos are a great representation of the house. While it was just a bit too cold for hot tub use, the hot tub was a great touch. The beds were comfy. We had enough room for everyone (and could have fit more easily with the extra bedroom). The house was stocked with all of the basics (toilet paper, linens) and some extras (wi-fi, TV's upstairs). We didn't really cook much (so many great places to eat in the area!) but the kitchen cabinets had plates, cups, all sorts of pots & pans, etc. Location was great- easy access off of the highway and very close to downtown. It's also just a quick drive down to Portland and Freeport which made for nice day trips for us. We would stay here again anytime. Thanks Rennie!

Great Brunswick base for mid-coast Maine vacation

My husband and I stayed at this house in Brunswick in April 2011. The house was just as described, with three bedrooms upstairs and the living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs. The house was very clean and well maintained, and the location is perfect for walking into downtown Brunswick or even up to Bowdoin College. My husband and I are Bowdoin College alumni, and we were up in Brunswick for an alumni event. The back yard was lovely - unfortunately we didn't use it as much as we wanted since it was still a little cold, but that is April in Maine. The hot tub was fabulous, although I wouldn't put more than four adults in there. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming note from the owners upon arrival, as well as a bottle of wine. What a nice start to a great weekend! The house was full of everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a great time visiting the college, shopping in Freeport, and getting lunch at our favorite restaurant in town - Big Top! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable place in Brunswick, and I hope to stay here the next time we are up in town for a Bowdoin alumni event. The pricing was very reasonable for everything that was included.

Photos are Deceiving

We stayed here in the summer and the house was incredibly hot. While the house was not advertised as being air conditioned, it didn't state that many of the downstairs windows didn''t open, there is a tin roof, and that the window fans in the upstairs bedrooms were broken. As another reviewer noted, the backyard area is nowhere near as appealing as in the photos. That is also true of the interior, although we were admittedly influenced by the lack of air inside. The town of Brunswick is very cute, although some side streets are a little sketchy.

Please see my full review on homeaway.com. We rented for a week with my family. The place is a dump, photos were carefully taken. What they don't show is a tiny (doesn't seat 6) hot tub with broken jets, the fridge in the laundry room, the small smelly and let me say smelly bathroom. Weeds are everywhere, lawn not mowed (front area), not maintained at all..bikes not available and when they were needed a tuneup. grill doesn't work (only two out of four burners)...I could go on and on and on but I'd like to leave this a memory that I would rather forget!!!

Such a beautiful place with private yard & hot tub

The entire house was very comfortable and cozy, even with 6 girls and all the stuff they bring Enjoy great restaurants within walking distance or prepare a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen - just add the groceries! I've already recommended this place to my parents and cannot wait to go back again!

Superbe...Super!

Un endroit vraiment romantique, tel que décrit. Près du centre ville, au aussi tout près de Freeport, et de Portland. Nous avons réellement apprécié être accueilli avec une bouteille de vin, et une douce musique de jazz. Trois bicyclettes à notre disposition, un spa, tout ce qu'il faut pour passer du bon temps!!! A truly romantic place, as described. Near the city center, also close to Freeport and Portland. We really appreciated being welcomed with a bottle of wine, and soft jazz music. Three bicycles at our disposal, spa, all you need to spend quality time !!!

Comfortable and Convenient, Helpful Owners-plus so Chic!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teen girls stayed for 4 days while we attended a Bowdoin college sporting event. We were literally 5 minutes away, which made running up to the college to watch our son compete a snap. we also were able to easily amuse the girls with the hot tub, multiple media options, and Brunswick activities. We got donuts at Frosty's and Gelato at Gelato Fiasco every day. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook fresh Maine seafood. Bed linens were excellent quality, and there were lots of comfy couches and cozy corners to sit in.The three very separate well-appointed bedrooms all have TV, so plenty of privacy if desired. We all enjoyed the hot tub, and it was also nice to stay in a vacation home where everything looks nice and feels comfortable, instead of being odds and ends nobody wants. I've stayed in many units, condos, and apartments, and this was one of the best decorated and most comfortable. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us, including a flexible check out time when one of the girls became ill. Security deposit was returned promptly. The only downside is that the one bathroom is downstairs, and the stairs might be tough for an elderly or unfit person. I'd bring a gate if I had a toddler.

A PERFECT STAY!

Very happy with the rental. Lovely yard, the children loved the hot tub. We used the 3 bikes, and enjoyed the downtown Brunswick area. Lot's of things to do! The house is so charming, we'd love to come back next summer. Manning fam.

The BEST house rental in Brunswick Maine!

I rented this adorable house for my sister's bachelorette party weekend for 5 of us girls. It was PERFECT! Rennie left us a bottle of red wine and the house itself had every comfort imaginable. The location was extraordinary as well, none of us had ever been to Brunswick and it was only a 2 minute walk to downtown..so easy to navigate! Everything written in the description of this rental is accurate and the hot tub was a great addition, very clean! The house smelled soo awesome when we walked in and the beds are wicked comfy! We all loved it so much we've decided to rent it out yearly for a girl's getaway. HIGHLY recommended!! Thanks!!!

Lovely Hot Tub ! 5 star rental!

Beautiful House, Lot's of amenities!

Upon arrival, we were surprised to find a bottle of wine and Jazz music coming from the speakers. The house smelled fresh and clean, We stayed for 4 nights,the location is great, very quiet, yet only 1 block from the downtown area with lot's of shops and resturants. The rental has lot's of amenities, cooking supplies,movies/books/magazines/toys, music etc. Cozy electric fireplace in the living room + the dining room. This was a great getaway for me and my family, and we would love to come back in April! Christine Boston

CLEAN & VERY CHARMING! GREAT TOWN!

My wife and 4 year old twins stayed at the Brunswick house for 2 days. The rental was very clean, and very kid friendly. Relaxing, charming backyard, with big grill & hot tub. A very cozy stay

I selected this home for a little weekend getaway with my boyfriend. Not overly familiar with Maine, Brunswick seemed like a nice college town to set up base with easy access to surrounding areas. The house was an easy 2.5 hour drive from Boston, extremely charming, beautifully decorated and equipped with all the neccesities. Indoor and outdoor lights were on to make our entry easier and cool music was playing in the living room. There were only two of us, but the house could have comfortably slept several more. I'd love to return for a "couple's weekend" in the future. It would also be great for kids as there are TVs in every room, a play station, lots of board games, DVDs, CDs, books and even some toys and stuffed animals. The description of the house was definitely accurate. Rennie was great. All transactions from initial inquiry to final confirmation were smooth and simple. We also had a little trouble getting the hot tub figured out and she responded promptly and even came over to help us out. Based at the cottage (and keeping in mind that it was still cold, winter weather and we are not very "outdoorsy folk"), we were able to explore Maine Street, Brunswick where we enjoyed a gelato and coffee at Gelato Fiasco and found a very cool vinyl record shop. We also strolled through the campus of Bowdoin College. Our only dining experience in Brunswick was a chinese buffet at China Rose which was not so great, but there seemed to be a ton of other restaurants that I'm sure are much better. We also spent some time in the nearby town of Bath where we visited the Maritime Museum (highly recommend), a great BBQ place for lunch and purchased some fresh live lobsters which we cooked back at the house for dinner that night. The house had a big lobster pot to boil them in and great plates printed with directions for eating a lobster! It was wonderful! We digested our dinner while relaxing in the hot tub :) We were also able to stop in Portland on our drive back to Boston and Freeport is very close, too. All in all, the house was great. Customer service from the owner was excellent. I would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking to explore that area of Maine. It's perfect for couples, a group of friends or families. Perfect house for entertainment-Love the hot spa!

We enjoyed the various themes of this vacation home. When we walked into the house, we found a bottle of Champagne, flickering candles and soft jazz music playing. It was thrilling to feel so comfortable, relaxed and entertained. We will definately stay here again next time we visit the Coastal/Midcoast Maine area! Janet & Tom Brooklyn NY

Convenient location in Brunswick

I would highly recommend this rental property for anyone looking for a fun alternative to an extended hotel stay in Brunswick. The house contains three full bedrooms and all amenities one would need. The home is perfectly located in Brunswick within walking distance to Main St. The property was clean and inviting, and owners were responsive, accomodating, and timely with inquiries. There is only one bathroom, located adjacent the kitchen which does require coordination. All said, I would gladly return for a stay and would recommend this property.
