Unique Log Cabin Retreat on 138 Acres, swim, fish, boat, paddleboard, kayak!

Enjoy a tranquil, relaxing stay in our private, handcrafted log home set amidst a 5 acre spring fed lake on 138 acres of a classified Indiana natural wildlife preserve. A meandering creek, rolling hills and trails suitable for nature walks and hikes surround the property. For the fishing enthusiast, the lake is stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill. We have several water craft to enjoy on the lake. These include a three person canoe, 2 kayaks, 2 stand up paddle boards, and a two person inflatable kayak. Set out to experience this serene, natural haven!
Guest access:
The dock by the Cabin is for guest use (no diving off the dock) There is a floating swim platform for sunning and swimming. The owners have an additional home and dock approximately 100 yards down from the cabin. This dwelling, barn and all other outbuildings are not for guests. They are not occupied during your stay. The owners may make brief visits to the outdwellings for general maintenance purposes. Guests will be notified in advance…this is a rare occurrence. Thank you for understanding!
Other things to note
No hunting is allowed. Fishing is all catch and release to maintain a healthy fish population, please bring your own fishing gear.

New features!! We have installed Starlink, a high-speed, low-latency internet for remote and rural locations operated by aerospace company SpaceX. Internet connection at the cabin is extremely reliable with this service which makes the cabin an excellent place to work remotely. We have upgraded the grill to a 3 burner Weber gas grill with an electric start (propane is provided).

We had such an amazing time at the log cabin and by the end of our trip we all wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin itself is in great condition - super clean and well stocked with all the amenities we needed for our stay (and then some!). We mainly spent our time outdoors either kayaking, playing on the water trampoline (which was a huge hit with the kids AND adults), enjoying the beautiful view from the patio, or fishing. When we needed a break from the heat the air conditioned cabin was most appreciated!There are also 3 adorable resident ducks that live on the property who are very friendly and social. My 9 and 11 year old loved watching them play and were truly sad to say goodbye to them!

We loved staying at this little slice of heaven for the second time. The trampoline in the water was a big hit and we used all of the water toys. The fish were biting like crazy and the family of ducks was fun to watch.

Peaceful retreat

Our stay was an absolute dream! If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with fantastic fishing right on the water and access to a stunning wildlife preserve, this is it.The location within the wildlife preserve was a significant advantage. Direct access to walking trails along with the sounds of nature, offered a wonderful experience. A blue heron was even spotted on the property!The rental was comfortable and well-equipped. The online descriptions were accurate, and the house had everything needed for a relaxing stay. Excellent lake access and amenities like a fire pit enhanced evenings.Despite the secluded and tranquil location, the area was still easily accessible. Nearby attractions or towns were easily accessible during the stay.This vacation rental is highly recommended for those looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature while enjoying some excellent fishing.

We loved this property and enjoyed every aspect of it. The house, the location, the lake and all the amenities. We plan to visit again sometime in the future. The fishing was great! A few minor things. The upper A/C. I cleaned the filter it was pretty dirty. It is also extremely loud (it really rattles) I believe to not being shimmed level. In the upper bathroom I cleaned the shower head a lot of holes were clogged. The upper fan speed can not be adjusted due to pull string being gone. Definitely would of helped on the hot days. The downstairs back door handle to the porch by the water was really lose. I tightened it up. Very minor details. What a GREAT Time we had!!! I wanted you to read this before it got posted. I would be happy to do another review with only the great stuff! Thanks again! Ken

Family fun!

This property is a dream! Less than 1.5 hours from Indy yet worlds away! Our whole family loved this place and all of the activities it had to offer. The house is rustic but perfect for living on a lake. We spent most of our time outside playing games, walking the property, using the many water toys, fishing from the deck, or just lounging on the comfy deck chairs. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen well supplied. The thing we most loved was the quiet and privacy!

Great retreat for families

Truly enjoyed the privacy and abundance of wildlife. Great selection of kayaks, paddle boards, and a canoe. Swimming and fishing were both great, as were our nature hikes.

Wonderful little cabin!

Cabin was perfect for our two families. The teenagers had plenty to do with the boats and the lake. We had hoped there would be more biking trails, but there isn't any, so leave your bikes at home. You won't really need them anyway. We will definitely book again.

Serene and relaxing vacation

We stayed for 4 days. The house has absolutely everything you need. Walmart is only 20 min away. Lisa is very responsive and the house is beautiful! We loved the privacy, peaceful evenings with singing frogs and geese, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding and relaxing. Wonderful vacation spot! Highly recommended!

This place is only a little over an hour away from us but felt like we were across the country away. Peaceful, great fishing and hiking and views of wildlife. Stores and restaurants only 15 min away. Beds were comfortable, clean and plenty of room for the family. We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity! Well worth it!

Birthday weekend

The cabin had everything for a great weekend - water toys, bug spray, plenty of outdoor seating, and a sandy beach. You only need fishing poles, bait and food :) we will be back!

Perfect Weekend getaway!

this property was amazing! the layout was open and perfect for our family. The beds were very comfortable! we enjoyed the lake so much. Fishing off of the deck was a family favorite. we all enjoyed (trying) to learn to paddle board. I would 100% come back here again. thanks for a great weekend!

This is a very private and secluded property with a natural spring-fed 5 acre lake. The water is very clear and clean as it is continuously entering and exiting the lake via a sluice at the south end, making it ideal for swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and more. It is home to a healthy population of large mouth bass and bluegill and they always bite! (Catch and release only please). This property offers you the feeling of very private country living, while conveniently 15 minutes away from all supplies you will need (Martin’s grocery, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.) The amenities here make this an ideal place for extended-stay, work from home guests (up to 30 days/discounted rate negotiated). There are mowed trails and rolling hills throughout the property for scenic walking, hiking and biking.
