Porto Cave-styled duplex

Enjoy the comfort of hotel-sized beds and ultrasoft sheets and the flexibility of a private home where you can get a coffee or snack at any time and wash your clothes. This amazingly located apartment in the heart of the city has all the comfort you need. You can take a stroll along the river, just 3 minutes away, or hit the historical streets with amazing bars & restaurants. From our side, we provide well-equipped facilities, local tips, and thoughtful personal service for your stay in Porto.

We travel a lot and have a lot of personal experience staying in hotels and airbnbs. We value maximum comfort, which lies in attention to small details. This apartment is our occasional holiday home, and we treat our guests the same way we would like to be treated during other holiday stays.

The best part about this space is that you have hotel-quality sleep on huge beds that have the most comfortable spring mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets made in Portugal. The space also has a couch-bed that has the comfort of a double bed.

We also provide you with 100% cotton towels, toiletries, a blow dryer, cooking basics, and kitchenware appropriate for all kinds of cooking. So don't worry about anything. Just bring your personal belongings for the stay, the rest is our hassle.

We provide some international book exchange on our shelves, so feel free to take the book you liked and leave us the one you've already finished reading. We would like to keep this lovely tradition going.

If you need to leave your luggage after check-in, please let us know and we can leave it for you in a locked room downstairs.

The apartment is situated in a lovely neighbourhood with local family restaurants and bars. It is close to the main avenue called Rua de Mouzinho da Silva and the river walk with music and lovely cafes. If you have difficulties finding the apartment, find the restaurant called Casa Porto a noite cafe. Our place is next one on the right with RED doors. The access is as to any other apartment. Please note that the apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator.

Location is fantastic, entry to the property and communication was smooth, however I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. Space feels worn and far worse - Daughter woke with bed bug bites! None of the mattresses or pillows are encased, which is clearly part of the issue. Porto is gorgeous and certainly worth the visit, but find somewhere else to stay!!

Hello Jessica, Thank you for your review. There were no complaints from you during your stay apart from ‘bed bugs’ that you never sent us pictures of despite numerous requests. We do not have bugs, neither had we ever had a complaint about any bugs. A bite could have been from a mosquito and even outside the apartment. All mattresses have mattress covers, so do our pillows. The apartment was fully refurbished 3 years ago, is ventilated, cleaned thoroughly to highest standards.

We really enjoyed staying at your apartment. The location was great to visit Porto and to reach the Sao Bento train station. We ate at a few of the nearby restaurants and went to a fado show.

Location was fantastic, everything was clean. The apartment is on the 4th floor so there are quite a few stairs to go up. We only had 1 small carryon with us so it wasn’t an issue but it would be difficult for a family with children and large luggage. We would definitely stay here again!

Check-in process was an issue, as codes for lock box weren't provided correctly. Description of unit did not note that the king bed was on a second floor with an extremely treacherous staircase. Instructions for the unit were not provided ahead of time and manual for the unit itself, including how to use the heat was falling apart. Heating unit in treacherous king bedroom was moldy smelling and couldn't be used. Unit was clean- is the only nicest thing I can say. Wouldn't return.

Fantastic location, the property had everything we needed, and was clean and tidy. The staircase in the building as others have mentioned does have a distinct ‘lived in’ smell, but I would absolutely not let this put you off booking this property, as it is literally only the main staircase that is affected.

The property was clean, well-equipped, and in a good location. We wished the laundry situation had been explained in advance, as it required walking down 4 flights of stairs to a shared building laundry space, because of that, we chose not to use it. Unbeatable Location

Just one street down to the popular port area and a short uphill walk to major sites. The area offers easy access to cafes and shopping and provides a real taste of city life. I was traveling solo and had plenty of space but, even so, the space is very efficiently designed and updated for comfort.

As others mentioned, this duplex is located in a great part of the city and there are good restaurants nearby. The place is comfortable and was good for two friends staying together. The negatives: the bathroom was small, the stairs to the loft with the second bed were extremely steep, and navigating large suitcases up the four flights can be challenging. Additionally, we did not get entry information ahead of our arrival date.
