Overall great place, rooms were spacious. Kitchen had plenty of cookware, no staple goods. Kids loved the outdoors. Close to several stores.

Farm house

We got there and there was garbage piled up on the porch I called the owner and eventually he came up to remove the trash the lawn was not mowed so I mentioned it to him that it was difficult to walk up the stairs because it was so thick and he weed whacked in front of the stairs so we could walk up the stairs without tripping.It was very comfortable in the home we would definitely stay there again next time we are in Virginia.

Perfect Rustic Cabin

This cabin was exactly what we were looking forCozy, quiet and fun off the main road, but close to everythingWe were nervous when we read previous reviewsYes, it’s rustic Yes it’s a working farmWe enjoyed both of those aspectsIf you plan on coming know that it’s rustic and minimum Also don’t plan on walking around the house barefooted as there are nails, splinters, and uneven boards. Bedroom and bathroom on first floor great amenity for aging parents. Great area for star gazing. Sunrises and sunsets were AMAZING! We will return and see how much fun we can have in warmer weather. The cows were super friendly and fun to watch. 2 peacocks were a plus!!

Farm Cabin Adventure

Adequate for four people (not more as there are only four chairs for the dining room table and rooms are small) not looking for luxury. Kitchen appliances and TV work well. Setting is quiet with lots of room to walk your dog. However, the place is shabby and dated (1980's bathrooms) with a poor paint job, no furniture in bedrooms (ie no bedside tables, lamps -except in one upstairs--no dressers, chairs etc -- nowhere to put your stuff other than on the floor). Shower curtains old and thin, no bathmat upstairs no rugs in bedrooms (very nice pine flooring though). Interior stairs are very steep and the lighting is such that the bottom two steps are not readily visible and one of our party took a nasty tumble here . Linens, pillows towels of very low quality and some stained. No decor on walls. Really not a welcoming space. Nice wrap around porch although we did not use it and the floor has some holes. Host was responsive to our concerns and brought us a toaster when we requested but the whole place needs updating and a makeover to really make it VRBO quality. And then there were the insects: ants in the kitchen got into any food on the counter, beetles walking across sheets and pillows, and a severe wasp invasion.-dozens of them They were nesting inside the walls The host did come and address this but it took three days to get rid of the wasps . I understand this is an old house on a farm in a warm climate so maybe bugs are inevitable but the listing should note this.

Loved the house and property

It was perfect for us. 3 adults and 4 kids. Sleeping arrangements were adequate. Place was super clean. Liked being in the country, with great view of the mountains.

He is a scam artist

Nails sticking out the floor, blood on walls and towels, dirt in the cracks of the floor. He will take a hidden fee so be careful. I had to make he send me something in writing that it was refundable. Oh after we followed all directions, not to my surprise he tried to accuse us of causing damage which never happened. Then after I pushed back he agreed to pay me back. He sent to the bank then reversed it. This man is a scam artist. On top of that on the day of my arrival I had to call him numerous times to get the access code AFTER 3pm which it should have been provided earlier. This was a nightmare: I knew something was up in the beginning and am more upset I didn’t cancel the reservation.

Nice setting!

We were there with our 3 youngest grands, who all loved the house! Pros: beautiful farm and mountain views, stone fireplace with plenty of wood to make our evening fires, not in a neighborhood, kitchen stocked with spices, coffee, paper products, and dishes, lots of TV entertainment to choose from without logging into our account, and most important comfortable beds. Cons: it was clean where it counts but definitely in need of TLC in many areas, needs new curtains and blinds in all rooms. As another reviewer said, no nightstands in downstairs bedroom so used folding chairs found in closet, could use a little more variety of pots and pans in kitchen. In case you are like us and can't find the lockbox for key, it is on the front porch rail ACROSS from the front door. Thank goodness the friendly Farm Manager came by to point this out! I would recommed, just don't expect 5 star, but it could get there with a little extra TLC.

Quiet

Nice quiet, comfortable stay. Had trouble finding house key and wifi setup. Property manager did greet us after realizing we were there and was very helpful. Could use some night stands next to bed in master.
