Work/Play Stay in Key West

Our month-long stay on Royal St through was exactly as described. The property had everything we needed for a perfect blend of work and play. It’s conveniently located, just a short walk or drive to downtown or the beach. The host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and on-site, ensuring a seamless experience. While we didn’t use the pool, the amenities were spot-on. We’d love to return for our next visit!

Listed as a 1-bedroom. It's a studio.The listing labeled “Bedroom 1” and “Living Room 1,” with a photo of each — 2 views of one room. I booked 36 nights on that designation and reported it at check-in. On August 10 an agent said the host had corrected the listing and that Vrbo was refunding its service fee. The labels remain, yet the description says the bed, desk, dining table and sitting area are “all in 1 large room.” Both can't be true.Cleanliness: mildew on all street-side window frames (kitchen and bathroom, sealed shut); sticky toaster oven, pot and pan handles, rusty salt and pepper shakers; one sofa arm grayer and grungier than the other; faded bathroom rug; freezer ice bucket and coffee maker reservoir looked unclean.Also: the ice maker is ice-cube trays; missing blender, replacement had a melted lid; the dining table is a 2-seat dinette; the pool is in the hosts' gated backyard, just outside their door, so I didn't use it; the private outdoor spot faces the driveway.Safety note: the tile shower floor is smooth — no grit or texture — and slippery when wet. There was no non-slip mat. I'm 69, and a fall would be serious for me.Credit where it's due: my flight was badly delayed and the host left the unit open with the key inside.Bottom line: Space might suit 1–2 people looking for a studio near the quiet end of Duval. It was not the 1-bedroom I reserved for 36 nights. I stayed 9 nights, only because it took me that long to find another property.

Key West Trip

The location is great if you are looking for a walkable vacation with quiet at home. You can be on Duval or at the beach within minutes. The rental is attached to the main house where the owners live full time which makes for close quarters. Thankfully the owners were kind, nice and friendly. The rental has all the appliances and such that you need for a month long visit. Some of the essential and comfort items could use a refresh (pillows, fry pan, shower curtain, bath rug, maybe add some soft throw pillows for the couch) but the current ones got the job done. The bathroom is designed a bit strange and we didn’t find the inside cabinet behind the mirror for a few days. It is helpful to store your things. The backyard ‘oasis’ is a relaxing area to just hang out for a few drinks or whatever day or night and we did often. The pool is small but deep and enough to cool you off. We both enjoyed the constant water flowing out of the cast iron water pump. We wished a couple times that we had access to a grill as food is expensive in Key West but we made due. All in all, it was a very nice 28 days in this rental in sunny Key West!

We had never been asked about these items you mentioned. We have bed pillows and couch throw pillows ordered. We have also placed a stand up gas grill adjacent to the entrance of the rental. Thank you.

Great location! Great space! Great hosts! I had the best time during my stay with Monica and Patrick. The hosts are very attentive and available if you need anything. They were on property during my stay and respectful of my space as well. If you’re looking to emerge yourself in Key West living, this is a the place to be. It is near all that is Key West. Close enough to Duval to join in the fun, but a few blocks away for serenity and a good nights sleep. The neighbors are friendly and the neighborhood felt very safe. There is a pocket park nearby to walk the dog to for his potty needs. I loved getting fresh fish from the local seafood market and grilling it on my own grill just off the front door. The pool was perfect for a relaxing float after a day of working remote or fishing. I highly recommend staying here if you are a couple or traveling solo. It was perfect and just what I needed for a month.
