This beautiful 4,700 square feet 1929 Spanish-style home will take you back in time with its original architecture and interesting history as a former monastery. Nestled on more than an acre of land in sunny San Antonio, step back in time as you gaze at the Juliet-style balcony, mission-style furniture, original artwork, and sprawling garden and courtyard space. Located in the center of town, Casa Alegre is only 15 minutes from the Riverwalk and Pearl Brewery, and only 20 minutes to south town.

Happy and cheerful as the name states, Casa Alegre oozes old-world charm. Walk inside and you will instantly take notice of the primary kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and ample meal prep space. There are also two dishwashers and two full size refrigerators, providing ample space to store food and wash dishes for those longer stays or large gatherings. A butler's kitchen is just steps away and has been converted into a coffee and tea bar, perfect for those who perform a ritual morning sip. The sprawling formal dining table comes well-prepared to host elegant family dinners, and sunlit meals can be enjoyed alfresco on the outdoor dining table.

There are three living rooms, two with TVs; a game room and additional TV room, plus a formal living room toward at the front of the home. The soft sofa and large TV in the game room provide the perfect spot to curl up for movie nights. This room also boasts a pool table, an air hockey table, board games, a guitar, and a record player.

Four of the home's five bedrooms are large, light-filled, and adorned with soft linens. Two of the main bedrooms are en-suite. While exploring the bedrooms, you will also find lovely, tiled bathrooms and a separate laundry room. There are two separate offices providing ample work space for remote work or school tasks. There is one off of the downstairs primary bedroom, one off the dining room, and a separate laundry room. The additional TV room presents an excellent space for the kids to tune into their weekend morning cartoons, and the additional free-standing chapel room is a great space to work out!

Outside, the pool has a beautiful deck attached to it with two changing rooms right off the water, for your convenience. When you need a break from the sun, but still want to be outside, sit and read on the covered patio.

Check-in time: 4:00 PM.
Check-out time: 10:00 AM.
All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
Streaming services available with guests’ own account(s).

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 7 vehicles.
1 day notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 33 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.


Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
