Farmhouse in Amesville Ohio 20 minutes from Athens.

This is a new very clean home that sits on 165 acres which you can use for hiking trails and nature walks from February 2nd - September 5th. On your walk/hike you will find a creek, pond and some cave like overhangs along with beautiful cave overhangs and scenery's. You can view our Scottish Highland cows and our horse right from the back deck or by just looking out the windows. This house is located 20 minutes from the town of Athens, and you will find wineries, state and national parks and Ohio University. You can enjoy feeding the animals apples and carrots, but no one is allowed in the fenced area with the animals. You cannot ride the horses as they are not trained to ride. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit and enjoy the amazing stars at night and beautiful sunsets. There is no hunting allowed however during Turkey season you can arrange this for an addition fee. You will feel at peace, relaxed in this quiet beautiful country scene.

Beautiful house

My husband stayed here while he visited my daughter at OU doe dad’s weekend. They really enjoyed it and raves about the horse and cows. My daughter loved feeling them. My husband did say it took about 30 mins to get to OU which was a little longer than listed. We would definitely come back to this place next time we are visiting OU.

Peace and Quiet

We enjoyed the tranquility of the property. Living and working in an area where you hear the constant din of traffic and people, it was a blessing to have such a quiet place to stay. Some neighbors (Smoke and his Hairy Cow friends) were a little chatty when they saw us, but it was delightful. The clean and comfortable living space was perfect after a long day of hiking and exploring. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with family and friends.

Great property and lodgings

Had a great stay! Beautiful property. The animals were a hit with the kids. The property had plenty of area to explore. The house was perfect - super clean, updated and well stocked. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Beautiful place, perfect location!

We were in town for a local wedding. House and property were amazing! Check-in/check-out process was by far the easiest of any VRBO we have ever stayed at. The location was absolutely perfect! Our only regret is that we didn’t find this property earlier. We have relatives who live in the area and are thrilled to have found this gem! We will definitely be back!

OU Parents-Graduation Weekend

This is such a clean, cozy place. We stayed here OU graduation weekend. It is 25 minutes from Athens campus. We arrived at night & even though it was dark & in the country-it was easy to find. The house is so clean & updated. Wish I would have found this place 4 years ago! When we pulled in, we were greeted by a horse & several adorable cows. I highly recommend!!

Great Place!

This is our second time staying here. Our daughter is at Ohio U so great location for us. Family loves feeding the cows and the horse they have on site. Will be back for another stay.

Beautiful property

Wr have stayed at VRBO's across the states and now that my daughter goes to Ohio U we gave stayed at a few VRBO'S in Athens. This by far is one of the best places we have stayed at. Beautiful piece of property. The cabin itself is perfect. Newer, very clean and everything works! Including the hot water!! They also have cows and a horse you can feed carrots and apples. Bring lots! They become your friends real quick and meet you at the gate every time you get back. I definitely recommend this place. We will definitely be back.

Great little visit!

We enjoyed our stay! Nice little house tucked in the middle of nowhere. Which if you’re visiting that area, you already know this! We were visiting our son who attends OU. Not a bad ride between the two locations. After taking in a football game, it was nice to come back to the house and relax. Lots of space to spread out as opposed to being cramped in a hotel room. We loved the high top kitchen table with built in lazy Susan. We played games there both nights! We fed the cows and horse carrots and apples that we brought. I wish we had more time to just sit on the deck and watch them. Very peaceful and relaxing…we would definitely stay here again!
