Lovely Lodge & Coach casas en los terrenos de una C19th Villa. Ideal Giverny / París

Casa de campo y Gardner's Lodge, cuidadosamente reformada, de un dormitorio, a solo 45 minutos de París, en la encantadora ciudad de Vernon, cerca de Giverny.

Situado en los terrenos de nuestra villa, las casas tienen una entrada independiente y están a 5 minutos a pie de la estación de tren. Vernon es fácilmente conmutable a París, con trenes matutinos que salen cada media hora.

Las casas son gemelas, cada una con un amplio volumen de 65 m2 (700 pies cuadrados), muy bien amuebladas y ubicadas en un entorno idílico. Las plantas bajas tienen áreas de estar de planta abierta con características de época y una cocina totalmente equipada.

En la planta superior tendrá una gran habitación de 30 m2 con pisos de madera, baño en suite y vistas a una plaza arbolada, así como el uso de una terraza con suficiente espacio para el entretenimiento.

Disponible por semana o por períodos más largos (ideal para retiro de artistas o escritores)

NB: El Lodge está ocupado hasta septiembre de 2017. Las reservas son para Coach House solo hasta entonces.

It was just as described. Cottage with the loft. Bedroom & bathroom are up stairs. It was just what we wanted in a nice neighborhood.

small house with a character in a great location

We can only recommend the house in a great surrounding in the middle of Vernon. The house is nicely decorated, Paris and Versailles are close, but one can also discover the Seine River.

My daughter and I had a fabulous weekend in Vernon in this lovely location. It was so comfy to have our own patio area to relax and drink wine....read....and then to take an easy journey to Giverny. Nigel very helpful, yet not intrusive.

Charming property in the middle of town. Excellent location, several minutes walk to train station. Cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Host very hospitable and responsive to our questions. She also provided restaurant recommendations. Quiet at night.

We had a wonderful time on our stay in Vernon with Nigel and Pamela.The accomodations were well represented and upon our arrival we found them even better than we expected.Clean,comfortable and convient to supermarkets,train station,restaurants and sight seeing.Vernon has a number of interesting attractions and Giverny was within walking distance.We only wish we could have stayed longer but our time spent as "locals" was what we wanted,We would recommend this property to anyone who wishes a relaxing stay in France,

Made us want to live in Vernon!

Vernon is THE most charming town we have ever stayed in. It has everything you could want on vacation ( or anytime for that matter ). No need for a car if you don't want one. We walked everywhere. Many great patisseries, charcuterie , cafes, restaurants, stores and shops. The Saturday market is NOT to be missed. And Giverny, Paris, and Rouen are only a short ride away. The "gardener"s lodge" was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable. The water was hot. Appliances worked flawlessly. The photos were spot on. Nigel and Pamela were friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. Planning our return already!

The Coach House is a blend of Charm and Convenience

My August 2023 visit to the Coach House in Vernon was the actualization of a dream; I had admired the VRBO property since 2015 when I envisioned a trip to Monet’s Home and Garden in Giverny. The Coach House has been lovingly restored and modernized for visitors, yet the property maintains its historic charms. The Coach House interior has sophisticated furnishings that reflect the owner’s passion for art and design. The Coach House is a solid stone cottage with 19 Century charm in peaceful surroundings. The Coach has all the amenities a visitor seeks, small appliances, kitchen ware, loft bedroom, beautiful windows out onto the courtyard. The internet is unfailing, as are the warm showers! The property is incredibly convenient for the trip to Monet’s Home and Garden. It’s a seven minute walk to the train station, to connect with the Monet shuttle, or for visits to Paris museums. The owner takes great pride in the restored property and is onsite and a willing communicator should questions arise. The property has a family ambiance, and I felt very comfortable there. I truly enjoyed my visit.

Everything you need and friendly hosts

The house is so well located near the train to Paris and the hosts met and welcomed me on arrival and showed me around the property. I felt safe and looked after. The house was equipped with oven/stove, washer/dryer and all the bits you need. Thanks to N & P for a happy stay in Normandy, close to Monet’s garden.

Great place

Perfect place for 4 nights, first time in France. Driving distance to beaches of Normandy, short train ride to Paris, and a bike ride to Monet’s house. You can’t beat that. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, we will be coming back :) . -Brittany and Kellen

Beautiful and well-kept Coach House

We spent 5 nights in the pretty and very well-kept Coach House. The little house is very clean, loving and nicely furnished with personal details. The Internet connection was also perfect. The house is well situated for excursions in the surrounding arrea, par example to the garden of Monet in Giverny, to Rouen or to the very nice castle of Les Andelys above the Seine. Vernon is also a pretty little town with shops and restaurants. A supermarkt is also very close to Nigel‘s house. We really enjoyed our stay and we would like to say thank to Nigel and his wife for their hospitality.

Wonderful apartment

I had a great time staying in this beautiful apartment. The garden is very pleasant and very private. Everything in Vernon is walking distance - the city center, the Seine, but also chateau de Bizy. I enjoyed very much the stylish decoration of the place, the top floor/bedroom feels like 'living in the air' 😊. The communication with Nigel and his two children was easy, smooth and pleasant. I would surely recommend this apartment!

Well equipped, clean and comfortable accommodation with a welcoming host - thoroughly recommended. Ideal spot for walking into town, supermarket, local sightseeing trips (Giverny etc.) and further afield (Rouen)

Romantic stay!

My husband and I stayed at this property for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! It was very romantic and cozy! The property was very clean and had everything you would need for a perfect stay. The pictures on the website were accurate. It was our favorite property in our 2 week stay in France. Highly recommend!

Lovely lodge in great location

My partner and I stayed here for 3 days to meet some friends in Giverney. The Lodge is very well maintained and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent as stated before, with a very short walk to the station, where as well as trains you can get a shuttle bus to Giverney for 4 euros each way. Vernon is a nice little town, quite sleepy in the evening (well mid week in late September it was!) but we had some nice meals at L'Envie and Le Capitinaire (or something like that-book a table with a river view) for circa 25 euros for 3 courses which we thought was very reasonable for the quality of food. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Awesome Location in France

This Property was much better than I expected. The location is perfect! The train to Paris and beyond is a 4 minute walk. (45 minutes to Paris on the train) The Farmers Market is on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. It was wonderful. This is a great walking town. A few minute drive to Giverny to see Monet's garden. Very god restaurants. The owner is very helpful. This house is perfect for two people. There is a pull out couch in the living area for extra people. The kitchen is equipped nicely.

Adorable petite maisonnée, proche Giverny

Nous avons passé 3 superbes journées à Vernon, dans cette petite maison située au bout du jardin des propriétaires, des gens charmants, anglophones d'origine mais maîtrisant suffisamment le français pour être pleins de bons conseils! Une entrée indépendante avec places de parkings toujours libres juste en face. Confortable, propre, déco sympa, 4 couchages pour des personnes qui s'entendent bien (2 lits en 140). Région magnifique à découvrir pour ces paysages adorables (Giverny entre autres..) et ses nombreux sites culturels (château de Bizy, château de La Roche-Guyon, et en poussant un peu, les ruines de l'abbaye de Jumièges, magnifique !). Il nous reste encore beaucoup de choses à visiter, nous reviendrions au Lodge avec grand plaisir!

Lovely property in a great location

We had 3 lovely days at the lodge. The property is gorgeous and contained everything we needed. Pam and Nigel are great hosts. The location was ideal for a day trip by train to Paris and a visit to Monet's spectacular gardens. We chose to walk to the garden, but there is also a shuttle bus from the station. There is no off-street parking at the lodge, but there was ample free parking nearby.

We are an anglophone(American/Scottish) couple who have lived in France for some 20 years. Over the years we have lovingly renovated a selection of furnished apartments in Paris, Vernon-Giverny (Normandy) and Dinard (Brittany), as well as longer established properties in Notting Hill, London.

The Gardner's Lodge and Coach House are our latest pride and joy.

Our kids are all bilingual and we love Polish sheep dogs...you will surely meet them all !!

We bought our 19th century Villa in the town of Vernon near Giverny because it provided an ideal and secure space for our family within commuting distance to Paris where we both work.

The Villa had out-houses at the back of the grounds. They would have been the carriage house/stables 150 years ago and needed renovation or demolition !

We chose the former and have created a lovely property that has a country feel but is close to the amenities of a small market town (25,000 inhabitants).

Vernon is a quiet market town with a main line station to Paris. The station (only 2 minutes from the Lodge) is the arrival point for visitors to Giverny, Claude Monet's famous home.

The Lodge and Coach house provide an ideal base to visit the sites of 'Haute-Normandie' and Paris (only 45min away). Vernon itself has a great market every Saturday and we are usually available to show you around if required.

It is also an ideal retreat for an artist or writer looking to spend some creative time in calm but inspirational surroundings.
