We stayed at this VRBO from June 8th to June 12th, 2026 for a short getaway. The apartment itself is adorable—cozy, well-decorated, and charming. The neighborhood was also a big plus: very quiet and peaceful, which made it a relaxing spot overall. Unfortunately, several issues detracted from the experience and raised safety concerns. The refrigerator was not cooling properly at all. We left our phones (with a digital thermometer app) inside for over an hour and the lowest temperature it reached was only 46F. Food and drinks didn’t stay properly cold, which was concerning for safety. The kitchen coffee setup was frustrating. There was no coffee provided, and the carafe didn’t even match the coffeemaker. We had to physically hold the carafe up against the machine for it to drain properly, otherwise coffee grounds would float in our cups. The water heater made extremely loud gurgling noises—loud enough that it woke us up multiple times at night and made it hard to sleep. Outdoors, the patio furniture was in poor condition. My sister fell through one of the patio chairs because it was rotted and structurally unsafe. Thankfully she wasn’t seriously injured, but it was startling and highlights the lack of basic maintenance. By far the most disturbing issue was the security situation. There was only a single key left in the lockbox. This means any previous guest could have easily made a copy and still have access to the unit at any time. This made us feel pretty unsafe.
