Perfect location for exploring gorgeous county Kerry, halfway between Tralee and Kilarney on the way to the Dingle Peninsula, and five minutes from the Kerry Airport.

Firies is a quiet village, with a friendly community and our comfortable three-bedroom row house is conveniently located across the street from two pubs and a grocery store.

It’s a great place to relax, light a peat fire or grab a Guinness after enjoying the sites of Kerry, one of the most beautiful areas in Ireland.

Beautiful home with clean kitchen and bathrooms, and well supplied. Bedding was clean and comfortable, and mattresses were just right! Lovely location in village between 2 pubs, but no food offered there ( except Friday and Monday mornings). Beautiful garden in back for morning coffee! Great location for day-trips and sightseeing. Enjoyed our stay very much :)

We truly enjoyed our stay in Firies. The house provided everything we needed. The house was very clean and everything was in working order. Johnny and Frances from the pub across the street were above and beyond friendly and helpful. We didn’t have a car and taxis were unpredictable. We’ll have many fond memories of our stay!

Home is in a rural area close to Kilarney. You have a chance for both quiet rural life and a very active, entertaining city life in Kilarney. Several pub accross the street with friendly locals to talk to. A great experience.

Beautiful Village and beautiful people

The owners of the pub and store across the street were welcoming and amazing. They told us places to see and even helped us get there. I would recommend this house and Village to anyone that wants an authentic Irish Stay. Make sure to have a pint with Johnny and Francis !!!

We had the most wonderful stay. We did a lot of day trips and it was nice to have comfy "home" to come to at the end of the night. Everything was clean and beds were sooooo comfortable. The little market and pub were so convenient as.we forgot a few small items. Also, if you are visiting during the summer, be sure to stop and visit Eleanor at the coffee and crepe stand! So delicious. It was wonderful to have a very nice kitchen with new appliances to cook breakfast every day. And although we did eat out every night, we got to use the kitchen for it's our last dinner. we caught some fish on a fishing trip in dingle! We did a fish fry and made a carrot and and potato casserole... Highly recommend staying here! On a side note, I am an interior designer and I was very impressed with the decor! Tasteful, eclectic and homey.

Great Hub for Golf

My friend and I were on a golf trip. We found the house to be really convenient to the courses we played in Killarney, Dooks, Dingle, Castlegregory and Ballybunion. My son was unable to go this time so I'm returning in a couple of years with him and would reserve again in a heartbeat

Perfect Place in Real Ireland

This place could not be more perfect. It's obvious that it has been recently updated. New mattresses, windows, carpet, paint and appliances. The gently-used furniture gave the place a comfortable, homey vibe.The visitor's information packet thought of everything..... I wish we had read it before experiencing that the washing machine takes forever. (Use the Quick Wash option)Firies is a friendly community. We were the only non-locals around but always made to feel at home. (The locals are so friendly to each other and they extend that openly to visitors.). We made friends at Henderson's Bar across the street. We wish we hadn't waited until the fourth night to walk over. The great trad music and conversations were a highlight of our time there.

Wonderful home base for our family to explore the west side of Ireland.

We arrived and were able to easily find the house and the pub across the street to collect our key from Johnny (look for O'Sullivan's above). Through the pub and out the back there is wonderful outdoor seating with breakfast, tea and coffee (in my opinion it was a way better latte than the coffee stand nearby). It was wonderful to get out of Dublin and have a slower pace. The village was small, but just a short driving distance to several restarants, grocery stores, beaches, activities, and greast location to visit the towns of Killarney, Dingle, Kerry and more. The house was clean, the beds were comfy and it had had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We did day trips to the Ring of Kerry, hiked in the national park. We watched horseracing in Killarney, and spent time in Dingle. We had a wonderful meal at Griffin's in nearby Castlemaine. We traveled with our 8 and 6 year-olds. If we were ever back in Ireland we would definitely stay here again! Thank you Emily and Paul!

We live in Vermont, but have been coming to Firies for close to twenty years, ever since Paul's mother bought a holiday home here. When Paul's Mom left us the house, we embarked on a renovation project that has resulted in (we think) a stylish and comfortable home, set up with the needs a of vacationing family in mind. We love sharing this little slice of tranquility and introducing people to the gorgeous landscape of Ireland's southwest.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We are big hikers and really enjoy exploring the outdoors and the gorgeous beaches of this part of Ireland. Emily loves the poetry and music in this area, Paul loves the hikes, and our daughter Wren loves all the ruins & castles...We also love this quiet little village, where we can walk to groceries, pubs, coffee, church, and the playground, and where a short car ride will take us to Kilarney or out to the Dingle Peninsula. It's the best of both worlds!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The fact that you can be away from the (sometimes intense) bustle of Kilarney & Dingle town, and yet be within easy reach of both places. It is so nice to be able to take advantage of the vibrancy of town, and then to return home to a quiet pint in the pub or in our own living room with a peat fire in the fireplace.
