Welcome to Gran’s Cabins on Flathead Lake – Flo’s Cabin

Relax and unwind at Flo’s Cabin, a newer, pet-friendly 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat located on private property in Elmo, Montana—right on the shores of beautiful Flathead Lake.

You’ll enjoy 150 feet of private lake frontage, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking in the peaceful views. (Please note: swim at your own risk—no lifeguard on duty.)

Inside, Flo’s Cabin offers everything you need for a comfortable stay:
• A small kitchen stocked with essential utensils and cooking equipment
• A BBQ grill for easy outdoor meals
• A futon couch in the living area, providing sleeping space for up to 2 additional guests

The cabin itself is private, but the outdoor spaces are shared with guests staying in the second cabin and with our family, who occasionally stay in on-site RVs. Shared amenities include the lawn, beach access, dock, gazebo, fire pit, and parking area.
We also provide firewood and hotdog roasting sticks so you can enjoy a cozy evening around the fire.

Guests have access to kayaks, paddleboards, and other water recreation gear. Use of this equipment is at your own risk; the property owners are not liable for injuries or accidents.

Sunrises over Flathead Lake are absolutely stunning—you won’t want to miss them!

Located just 15–20 minutes from Polson and Lakeside, Dora’s Cabin offers a peaceful base for both adventure and relaxation.

Planning to visit Glacier National Park? It’s about a 2.5-hour drive from the cabin. From 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, an online entry reservation is required to access the park during peak season—so be sure to plan ahead.

Traveling with a larger group? There is a second, similar cabin on the property (Dora’s)—perfect for friends or family who want to stay nearby but still enjoy their own space. Please reach out if you’re interested in booking both cabins together!

We (your hosts) stay in our RV on the property and are happy to offer help, local tips, or complete privacy—whatever makes your stay more enjoyable. We also have two friendly dogs on the property: a Pomsky and a Collie. They’re well-behaved, social, and love making new friends (but we’re happy to keep them away if preferred).

The rental was exactly as advertised. Everything seemed very new and clean. The kitchen was well appointed and the entire small house was amazingly efficient in design. The owners were very attentive and very friendly. The lake was only steps from the unit and there were various water toys and kayaks available. Really enjoyable stay.

Wonderful lake vacation

We had such a wonderful time. The cabin is small but very well equipped. The kayaks are so fun and we spent most of our time in the water. Flathead lake is so clean and the water was a comfortable temp.

Weekend of fishing!

We rented Flo’s cabin for my son’s 13th birthday. He wanted to stay right on the lake somewhere & go fishing for his birthday. This was the perfect spot for this! He caught lots of nice size fish right off the dock. Flo’s cabin was so cute and perfect and clean! Every little thing was thought of in this cabin. I was impressed by the huge, thick beach towels, extra pillows and nice warm comforters. & under the sink was a first aid kit. That’s something you don’t see very often in a vacation rental & having 2 young boys, I appreciate that a lot cuz you just never know when you’ll need it. The view from this place is just so perfect! & Taking the kayaks and paddle board out for a cruise was a bonus of this property! My son said he wanted to go back so we will be back 😊

Quaint, Quiet and Relaxing

We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at Flo's cabin and had an amazing time. The accommodation was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The sunrise was stunning. Minta and Joe, the owners, warmly welcomed us and treated us to a lovely evening boat ride. We look forward to making our way back for another visit.

Perfect Montana Get Away

This was the perfect place for our 20th anniversary trip. The house had everything we needed, clean, cool and comfortable. The property was awesome - there is one other cabin and a few campers owned by the host family. Joe and Minta were the perfect hosts, allowing spaces to be alone and community spaces if you wanted to party. I had yoga on the dock to myself, coffee and a book in the morning and quiet time on our private deck. We were also lucky enough to be there for a couple days while the family was there. Fun, drinks, hot dogs and great company at the firepit and we were invited to cruise the lake (a highlight of the trip) with Joe, Minta, Don and Georgia. Elmo is a great spot between Missoula and Glacier. We were able to hit Glacier, Nine Pipes Lodge, Swan Lake, Lost Trails Wildlife Refuge, National Bison Refuge, Big Fork for shopping, live music and drinks, Garden of 1000 buddhas, St. Ignatius Mission. A day of hiking or sightseeing and then being able to come back for a float in the lake or just drinks with the view made this visit more then we could have asked for.

Beautiful, peaceful lake escape.

The owners of this little oasis, Joe & Minta, didn't miss a beat. They went above and beyond to make our stay a true vacation. SO warm and welcoming, and that didn't stop the entire tim we were there. Our cabin was perfect! Clean, amazing bedding, A/C, fully stocked for anything we could have forgotten. The view of the lake, the sound of the waves while drinking coffee on the deck, there are no words. We couldn't have asked for more and can't wait to go back!!

Excellent cabin and view

The cabin was very cute and well-stocked. We met our hosts, who were super nice. The location was a great base from which to travel to different towns and areas that we had never been to. The view was gorgeous and it was a very peaceful setting. I don't think we could have enjoyed it any more than we did.

Incredible stay

We loved our stay at Flo’s cabin. The location is perfect. Joe and Minta were incredible hosts and anything we needed they were able to provide for us. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying again the next time we are near Flathead Lake.

Stunning and peaceful

The house was exceptionally clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. The property is stunning and the views from the shore are indescribable also, the lake access is easy and the crystal clear water was a dream. The host was great with communicating the check in and check out process. You will love every minute of your stay at this property.

Anniversary weekend vacay

What a blessing to find this sweet little cabin on Flathead Lake 4 r weekend getaway!! This brand new cabin is so charming & comfortable & only about 50 yds from the lake. We enjoyed coffee on the front deck while looking at r spectacular surroundings. Joe and Minta r such wonderful hosts & took such good care of us. We’ll B back w/r kayaks!!!!!

Hi, we’re Joe & Minta —Montana locals who love sharing the beauty of Flathead Lake with others. We live part-time on the property in our RV and are always nearby if you need anything, but we’re also happy to give you space to enjoy a peaceful, private stay.

We’ve spent years enjoying this lake with our family, pets (a friendly Pomsky and Collie), and close friends. Hosting gives us a chance to meet people from all over and help them make memories in a place we truly love.

Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or just breathe in some fresh Montana air, we’re glad to welcome you to Gran’s Cabins and hope you feel right at home.
