Booked to stay with friends for an event. The Thursday before I messaged the host asking for an earlier check in, the host agreed for us to check in at 2 which was great for us! On the Saturday we arrived to the area after a 3.5 hour drive, we arrived slightly before 2. I messaged the host and ask if would be ok to get access the property early, the host said the property was not ready but we could leave our bags. After entering the property a leak was noted in the kitchen, messaged the host who said they were aware and some would be there shortly to sort it. She then messaged again saying that the cleaners where there could we vacate the property which we did. I then messaged the host asking her to make us aware when we could go back. After an hour we haven’t heard anything at this point I then noticed I had an email at 1:20pm saying we could no longer check in at 2 but could do at 3pm (now after 3pm) I then messaged host again asking how much longer who said she would contact the cleaner, after 5 minutes received a message saying cleaners would be done in half hour. We then arrived at property just before 4pm. On entry it became clear that the cleaners had not done anything, all beds unmade and a mess from previous people dirty towels laying around, bins full, washing up, and dirty cups in the cupboard. I messaged the host who called me and was on the aggressive side to start with till I explained the situation. Cleaners came to do beds but where not very happy either.
