Enjoy a peaceful stay at our Farm at Stillwater Sanctuary. Explore our ridge trail, swim or relax on our floaties in our natural spring fed pond, take a picnic up to Dragonfly Knob and watch the sunset over the meadow, or simply sit on the deck and listen to nature. The Zen Den is the perfect getaway from a busy life as you unplug and reconnect with yourself.
The Zen Den is located on a 162 acre farm that is listed as a land trust. Several endangered species call our sanctuary home.
The Space
The space is a quiet, private cottage with a full kitchen, living room, game room with a shuffle board, an easel and art supplies, a cozy nook for reading and a game table. Upstairs is also a luxurious bathroom with heated floors for cold winter mornings and a large cozy bedroom on mornings when you want to sleep in or enjoy coffee in bed and take in the view of the horses grazing in the meadow below. Walking trails led by our friendly farm dogs are a beautiful way to explore the farm. Enjoy farm fresh eggs from our free range chickens when available.
Guest access
Guests will have the entire house to themselves. There is a separate laundry and storage room for the caretaker’s use. The access is outside.
Other things to note
Our farm is listed on a land trust. This is a mostly wooded animal and plant sanctuary. Our farm has free range chickens and ducks, friendly dogs, Petey, Patches and Paul who will greet you and likely follow you around, a mule named Kit and a horse named Sugar.
As a natural area we also are home to wildlife. Please don’t leave food or trash outside. We do not use pesticides and herbicides so please beware when walking around the property.
As a natural space you may see the occasional spider in your space. Spiders are great bug killers to have around. However if they make you uncomfortable we ask that you capture and move them outside or ask the caretaker to do so.
Also of note, we occasionally have snakes on the paths. Snakes are a critical part of an eco system and do a great job of keeping the rodent population under control. Please don’t harm them but instead walk around them.
The farm is a proud supporter of dark sky initiative. There are several solar lights on the property. As a dark sky sanctuary we ask that you please turn off lights and unplug the string lights when you go to bed.
We have a second property. You will be sharing a parking lot with the other guests.
Please note that our farm is located off the beaten path. We recommend that you stop at a grocery store prior to your arrival.
