***UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT*** Chateau De La Mar is a meticulously maintained luxurious four-bedroom property in the heart of historic downtown Ocean Springs and near the beautiful beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is the perfect vacation rental for a romantic weekend getaway, or week-long vacations with the family lounging around your own private in-the-ground pool!

Chateau De La Ma features a large open state-of-the-art kitchen with a stainless steel refrigerator, double oven, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The cabinets are filled with everything you will need to prepare your own meals on days you rather stay in the comforts of home rather than eating out at the numerous Ocean Springs hot spots.

Up to eight can be seated at the large dining table, with additional seating at the nearby kitchen island.

The living room provides a comfortable place to lounge in front of the large flat-screen Smart TV. 

In the Primary Bedroom, you will find a King bed with a large Smart TV and a private attached bathroom. There are three additional bedrooms (one with a Queen Bed, one with Queen & Twin Beds, and one with bunk beds). All have attached full bathrooms (one is shared between two bedrooms). 

The spacious property is equipped with high-speed wireless Internet, designated workspaces, and out back you will find the private in-the-ground pool (not heated). 

While at the Chateau De La Mar you’ll feel completely at home and never need to leave the property to have a fantastic stay, but if you can tear yourself away, you'll find yourself in a prime position to explore Ocean Springs's vibrant arts scene, eclectic boutiques, gourmet dining, and lively entertainment venues, all within walking distance. Despite its central location, the property maintains a sense of seclusion, ensuring peace and privacy for its guests.

***Please be aware before booking that nine people is the most that can be on the property at any one time. A waiver will need to be electronically signed for all people on the property before check-in instructions are given. Chateau De La Mar is not meant for social gatherings or parties of any type. The guest limit will be strictly enforced and reservations will be canceled if not adhering to the House Rules***

***An electronic liability wavier will need to be filled out with the names of all guests before your access code is given for check-in***

***We have installed exterior security cameras for the safety of both guests and property outside of the home. There are no inside cameras.***

***The garages are not available for guest use. Driveway parking only (4-5 vehicles) ***

Family meet up trip

Meet the family for a wedding and made a mini vacation. Great house with pool the kids really enjoyed. Perfect location between the downtown district and beach.

Adult family vacation

We had an amazing time. There were so many shops and restaurants in walking distance. The house was beautiful and perfect for our family with a master on the first floor. We spent so much time on the screened in porch and in the pool. We will definitely be going back!

Fantastic Get A Way

The home was BEAUTIFUL, Clean and modern, centered in a great location within walking distance of everything. My grand daughter enjoyed the pool, it was clean and tranquil. I recommend this property to anyone and my family and I will return in the future.

Wonderful location

Our stay was amazing! The house location could not be any better. We walked to dinner, shopping and donuts. The kids loved the park that was down the street and not to mention, the library right across the street. We couldn’t have found a better property. We will definitely stay here again.

Great experience

We stayed as two families with a total of 5 children aged 1-5. They house was perfect with plenty of room for everyone!! We stayed early April so the pool wasnt quite warm enough for us adults to use but the kids seemed to have no issue splashing around. The house was in a perfect location to walk to many shops, restaurants, and the beach! Loved our stay here and would absolutely stay again!

Love the location and the pool!

The place was really nice, the owner was very responsive but the host specialist was not very helpful. The only negative was that the grill was extremely dirty and we were not able to use it. Overall a really nice place in an amazing location.

Hidden Treasure

This house was our first VRBO rental. I had no idea what to expect but wanted plenty of room for us all under one roof. We have three adult children living apart and wanted a weekend getaway within a few hours of us all. This house was clean.The master bedroom beautiful and bathroom was huge. The bed was so comfortable. The other three bedrooms were nice as well. Check in went smooth, the location was convenient to local restaurants and was within walking distance of downtown and the Front Beach area. We enjoyed the basketball goal, the pool and the fenced in yard would be great for small children. I know I’m not doing this house justice but it so worth the money and I would definitely stay there next time we are in the area. I hope it’s available.

Charming Ocean Springs

I waited to write this review. When we got there we were disappointed about several things including cleanliness and condition of appliances. It needed organization and TLC too! We didn’t complain. The property manager was not friendly. After a few days, we were told there was a new property manager (that was a relief and not a surprise). The new property manager was upmost attentive and welcoming to our concerns. Although there was not much he could do about the here and now since we didn’t address our concerns until we were almost leaving. His concern and quick response was much appreciated. The day we were leaving we saw a couple of crews already at work! There is no doubt the fixable concerns were being addressed immediately. You will enjoy this home but mostly the friendly people, restaurants, bars, and shopping surrounding it. We were not home a lot. Golf was great. We loved our stay. I won’t get into the issues because I am confident that they have all been addressed. The property manager has even reached out since to assure us. The owners seem to have a lovely family but have lost touch with this “house” that was once their “home”. We are happy they are back on track so many of you can enjoy this charming location.

Expensive Nightmare

I suppose I’ve been fortunate that an experience such as the one I had at this property has never happened before.I’m 60 years old and I wanted to take my mother and her sister on a “girl getaway.” It was a disaster. Greeted by unsightly weeds, vines and grass in flowerbeds at the front door. We had no ice the entire stay. Reported this to host and her reply was they'd never had problems with that ice maker in the past. I could go out and buy ice and she’d reimburse me. Toilet in master bath had dried feces in bowl and on lid. Sheets rumpled, dirty and literally looked as if they’d just been slept in. Sofa in living room has no cushion..is so low you have to roll out of it onto floor. Bed pillows are yellowed and stained from dried secretions. Old blood stains on comforter upstairs. Microfiber makeup cloths not washed since previous renters’ use. Storage closet has rubbish, boxes, old clothing, garbage bags of laundry stacked to the ceiling alongside the complementary snacks, coffee pods, and an opened bag of sugar. Perfect environment for vermin. I reached out to VRBO, the host, I left emails, voicemails etc. Contacted by host about 3 hours after we’d left. I have pictures of all the things I’ve mentioned. These were sent to her and as I understand it they’ll be sent to the owner and it is they who will decide if any type refund will be given. No one is managing the maintenance of this property. Until I can figure out how to protect myself, no more VRBO.

The owners live out of state and purchased the Chateau De La Mar to make it a vacation rental for those wanting to stay in the heart of Ocean Springs when they are not visiting. It is managed by Chris, who has been managing vacation rentals in Ocean Springs for more than a decade.

It's located in a quiet neighborhood and provides peace, serenity, and all the comforts of home while you are on vacation. We guarantee you will absolutely love it!
