Blue Octopus #1 Ocean View. Beach Access

Blue Octopus #1 is a no pets unit. 2nd floor, 2-bedroom unit, sleeps 6 (up to 8 with little kids on an air mattress) stunning views of the ocean, just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Oregon coast. The unit features its own deck, full kitchen and cozy living room with small living room in 2nd bedroom . The beach is ideal for families w/ shallow tidal creek that runs into the ocean, long shallow surf break. Perfect beach to fly a kite, swim or have an evening campfire.

Please note that unit 1 is directly above units 2 & 6. It is expected that renters are mindful and respectful of this. It is an older building and sound does carry easily.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in unit #1! The covered deck with ocean view & easy beach access was just what we were looking for. The unit was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, very cozy & fun decor. The check in / check out process was easy & our host was quick to communicate with us for a few questions we had. We definitely recommend unit#1 at The Blue Octopus and will be back!

This was my second time there and it was wonderful as always.
The kids love this sun room it feels like they have their own apartment within the house.
The view is always wonderful.
The sun room is so cozy.
I love looking out the windows in the living room it never gets old.

Great Beach Stay

This place was wonderful. Perfect spot for exploring the beach, clean & the views were amazing. The only thing I wished was different was that the mattress in the main bedroom was in bad shape, which was not in keeping with the quality of everything else. I’d still stay here again though,

Beach weekend

Blue octopus 1 was a great place for us. We went crabbing and the kitchen was a bit limited, but overall got the job done. Comfortable with a great view/proximity to the beach.

Sand & Surf For Miles

Lovely unit with a view for our group of 4 adults. Outfitted with everything we needed and centrally located for the things/places we wanted to do & see. And yes, beach walks & crashing surf for miles!

Unique and fun place!

Really interesting property! Clean and really cool outside/inside room with lots of natural light. We were there during a rainstorm and it was lovely. My only complaint is the bed in the master bedroom, it needs to be replaced as it’s very soft and didn’t lend itself to a very restful sleep for me. Great kitchen and bathroom too.

Great location, good house, small quirks

We enjoyed our stay here, enjoyed the small town and the location, the house was remodeled to be cute. Our only complaint was that the beds are sunken in/too soft and caused some back pain.

Rockaway kite festival 2024

We loved the whole set up of the apartment it was great it felt like the kids had there own little mini living quarters within the apartment. The views were beautiful and it was close to the the beach and town all in walking distance we can't wait to book this place again in the near future.

The location on the second floor with a sun room facing east and a deck and living room facing the ocean was excellent. We love The Blue Octopus #1. We were a little bothered that the kitchen was lacking a few things. There was no set of measuring cups and we expected the host to supply a little sugar. We didn't know we had to bring our own. A heads up to the owner/manager. The bathroom sink drains really slowly. Maybe ther is a clog in the sink trap.

Pretty good overall. Left a bag of unopened jerky about 100 worth from local factory. Call 1.5 hrs after checkout and they had already started eating it and taking the reat home. Somewhat understandable but be awate if you leave it you lost it.

We stayed at the Blue Octopus last year when there were last minutes changes in a wedding we were planning to attend. The apartment on the second floor of a building near the beach was large, had lots of windows and had a covered deck with a clear half view of the beach and ocean. We only had to stroll a 1/4 block and we were on the beach. We went back a second time and were quite pleased. It rained a lot (it was April) but we loved cozying up, reading, playing games and visiting the cedar grove (just down the road....spectacular) and on a clear-ish day drove to Cape Meares. Rockaway is a typical beach town, but this particular rental was so enjoyable. AND we had difficulties getting into the property. We called the owner. No response. We called the manager and she was there within five minutes and the spirit of helpfulness. She helped sell us on this property.
