¿Buscando el paraiso? ¡Aquí está en El Matador! Tiene que ser el resort de vacaciones familiares más buscado en la Costa Esmeralda. Un condominio aislado ubicado entre las hermosas dunas de arena blanca y las brillantes aguas esmeralda del Golfo de México.

El Matador es verdaderamente un resort de playa. A solo dos millas por el bulevar Santa Rosa, al final de la isla, nos encontrará, aislados pero a solo unos minutos de todas las comodidades que Destin y Fort Walton Beach tienen para ofrecer. Worst experience

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was filthy. Rugs and carpet were stained and gross. Beds in the smaller bedroom were terrible to sleep on. Very outdated. Dead bug on the wall. Master bathroom was a joke. Toilet we had to fix. Table broken. Bar stool also broken.

Great Location, Older amenities

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo location is the seller on this unit...first floor, back door looks out into the courtyard and 100 yards to beach access. Kitchen was redone, great finishes for rental. However, the remainder of the unit is stuck in the 80s and some of the dust probably came from there as well. The renovations stopped at the kitchen counter with no further improvements attempted. Electrical was sketchy as you have to unplug light from one plug and move to upper plug in same outlet to work. Things that don't make send and question safety to be honest. It was "clean" however old paint, outlets, trim, and fixes on bed made it not feel up to date. Dust on ceiling air vent just looks bad, even if not an issue to overall function.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was fantastic; however, the unit was very bad.1. Master bed is an inverted V. If you sleep to the side you will feel gravity slowly pulling you off. I slept on the couch a nite or so because it has more support than that mattress.2. Kids bed frame had to be adjusted to accommodate the mattress.3. The tub drains drain exceedingly slow.4. Several electrical outlets not functioning to include the 2 bed room which makes the ceiling fan inoperable.5. Had to play battery roulette to get the TV remotes to work.6. Sliding back door needs to be replaced as my kids, my wife, and myself all struggled with it.As the title says, great location but a horrible unit.

Good Beach Vacay, suggest Building 3 or 4 to others

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We liked El Matador however if you have children I would highly suggest staying in Building 3 or 4 FIRST FLOOR as it is a much closer walk to the beach (preferably 4)! This Unit, Unit 211 is located in Building 2, which is further away from the water. Being on the FIRST FLOOR was nice to not have to deal with the stairs or elevator. In the master bedroom, the toilet was VERY slow to flush and the bed uncomfortable, and comforter way too heavy and hot for beach vacay. We saw a few bugs as well in the condo. Living room recliner had holes in the fabric. Could use some new furniture! Updated kitchen was nice and spacious. We originally booked El Matador because we heard you could walk the 17 miles of beach down to Navarre. We quickly learned that you cannot walk this stretch of beach any longer which was highly disappointing to us and ALL guests we spoke to on the beach that have been coming to El Matador for years!!!! Not sure if we will come back for this reason. They were writing tickets to people who crossed into the military property. We heard a few people ruined it for all vacationers which is really sad. Such a beautiful beach! The water was crystal clear and blue however August was so HOT! If we go back to El Matador, we wouldn't stay in this unit again due to the longer walk to the sand with 3 children and beach stuff in tow. Hope this helps any out there planning! Also, you must try STEWBY'S restaurant (it's on the same road and delicious)! If you want pizza, Fubar's is right there too!

In need of an upgrade

However, the property was very outdated and in need of an upgrade. The patio door would not slide very well, the 2 twin beds squeaked very loudly every time you rolled over, the bathrooms were very outdated and the tub wouldn't drain well. Overall we had a good stay but would probably not stay in this particular unit again. My brother was visiting at the same time and stayed at El Matador as well. His unit was in building 4 and was much nicer than ours and had recently been upgraded. He paid the same price as we did. I would definitely stay at El Matador again but not this particular unit.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I experienced an issue with unit 211 my first night of vacation, at 4:30am. I called the after hours emergency line and eventually spoke to Chris. I was told they could move me to another unit, at a much higher cost to myself, which was unacceptable under the circumstances. Chris was very unaccommodating and said several times "there's nothing I can do for you". They did eventually offer a full refund, which then left me in Okaloosa for a 7 day stay having to try and find other accommodations after the first night. I would never rent from this realtor again based on my interaction with Chris.

Love El Matador... not the unit

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed at El matador numerous times. This unit needs major updating and renovations. The were broken drawers, dusty ceiling fan, dust/dirt in the kitchen on the ceiling, dirty fridge door, patio sliding doors that couldn’t slide smoothly, and shower faucets that make it hard to shower. We have always recommended family and friends to El Matador and other units we have stayed at. But will not be coming back to this unit.

Was a not so good stay

The apartment was as pictured and allicia was great but the dishwasher was full of mold, there was no cloth to wash dishes, no extra trash bags. We had to purchase those and paper plates and silverware. The people did not abide by quiet hours. People were running and laughing by door and bedroom windows at 1am and then mowing and weed eating at 7am. The quick walk to the beach was nice, the pool was nice but other than that I'd never stay at El Matador.

An outdated property

This was our first visit to the Emerald coast and the beach did not disappoint. We have stayed many places for our family vacations and this was not a great property. The dishwasher was left full with a bunch of dirty dishes inside of it. There was no ice machine located on property. There were insect inside the property and the room itself has not been updated in any way, the back patio door is an old sliding glass door that sticks to open and close. The hot water in the kitchen never came on, and the fridge was missing a support for the shelf. The owner charges a lot, but does not seem to care about their property. Won't be recommending it to family and friends.

Beach vacation

We had a pleasant trip. The condo was nice and spacious. The beds were comfortable. It had easy access on the ground floor. It was just a short walk to the beach.

Not as good as usual.

It was ok. The pictures showed us having more of a beach front building but were stuck in the first building when you pull in. There was no washer or dryer or any cleaning supplies. The internet was out for two days. Going to be staying closer to 30a from now on.

2020 quarantine vacation!

Condo was very outdated and fold out couch was broken dining room light did not work. Was not cleaned very well. Found use Contacts on the dining room rug and cheese it’s and little bags of chips by the couch . I called and they had maintenance come fix the dining room light and try to fix the couch. No way this condo sleeps 6 . When I called she said the foldout couch sleeps two kids. But it was Broken broken. I went to Walmart and bought a air mattress. My family loved the Beach and property. Probably would rent from a different condo.

First Time to The Island

We loved the location of El Matador. The condo was spacious and clean. Our only compliant was the furniture needs updating the couch was broken and uncomfortable. Other than that minor compliant we loved the location, the condo and especially the beautifully clean pools. The hot tub and sauna were very new and up to date. The condo complex was very quiet and clean. We will return to this location!

Beautiful property

Nice area on the ground floor. Condo needs a lot of updating and could have been cleaner. The toilets do not flush well. Overall we did enjoy our stay and it had everything we needed.
