Compramos este hermoso apartamento después de pasar cuatro años alquilando en la zona. Villefranche es un paraíso único en la Riviera francesa debido a su ambiente de pueblo pequeño y amigable, tan cerca de la maravillosa ciudad de Niza, y cerca del acceso a Mónaco, Antibes y Cannes.

Nuestra ubicación es ideal, ya que ofrece vistas espectaculares y una tranquilidad inusual en una ubicación codiciada del casco antiguo. El Institut de Francais está a poca distancia, al igual que la playa, todas las tiendas y restaurantes, y un acceso muy fácil a automóviles, autobuses y trenes (a solo una cuadra de la Place de la Paix).

El apartamento ha sido perfectamente renovado para aprovechar su encantador diseño dúplex, y ofrece un dormitorio, área de comedor y sala de estar con un cómodo sofá, dos baños completos, cocina completa y lavadora / secadora. Hay un gran televisor de pantalla plana con acceso gratuito a canales franceses, reproductor de CD y teléfono con llamadas gratuitas en toda Europa y los Estados Unidos.

Amazing view, great location, very comfortable apartment!

Russell’s apartment is perfectly situated in the old part of town yet close to bus stops that can take you to Nice, Monaco, Menton…It is a very nice apartment with modern conveniences, including AC.There is a steep stairway so I would not recommend it for those who have mobility challenges.

My partner and I stayed here for a week and truly didn’t want to leave. Perfect location to explore Côte d’Azur. Owner is was extremely helpful and assisted with recommendations, local amenities, and accessibility.

Stunning! Even better than expected!

The views are amazing from almost every window. The location is close to everything but not in the middle of the tourist area. The host is friendly and he and his dad gave us great tips for restaurants and hikes and made us feel so welcome. Yes, there are steps...but there are steps everywhere in town, so really not a big deal. Truly, I cannot say enough good things about this place! Thanks, Russell and Jean Paul. Look us up when you come to the US.

Perfect 3 week stay

We had a terrific stay in this beautiful and well equipped flat. The location was amazing, the furnishings were tasteful and the home had everything we needed. The host was not only hospitable but went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We can’t wait to return!

The apartment is perfect in the heart of Vieille Villefranche. It is modern and has everything that guests need! It’s very clean and comfortable near a boulangerie, a boucherie, a pharmacie and excellent restaurants. And the view of the sea is spectacular!

Côte d’Azur Dream

Everything was promptly handled by the owner, Russell from the moment we booked. Russell met us at checkin and even carried our luggage up to the flat! He went above and beyond looking after us for the month we stayed with him. We cooked in the kitchen and many nights had charcuterie at the window overlooking the bay. Villefranche is a perfect location to travel into Italy or Cannes and Antibes for the day by train or bus. It was a dream place to stay. A big thanks to Jean Paul and his welcoming us to Saturday Boules with other English speakers. We would love to come back.

Perfectly located and absolutely lovely studio

It was an absolutely lovely studio. Not only was it well situated with a beautiful view, the apartment was perfectly well equipped with everything needed for our stay in Villefranche. It was very clean and beautifully furnished. Another positive aspect was how well the property manager communicated with us before and during our stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location with exceptional view

This apartment is convenient for exploring all the towns on the French Riviera by train or bus. The view is even more panoramic than the listing photo. The apartment has new top end appliances and a very comfortable bed. It is well equipped for cooking. We cooked most meals because the butcher store, market and bakery were so close. But we also ate out at several of the excellent local restaurants. The two bathrooms were a nice extra with bath fixtures in perfect condition. The location is quiet. We really enjoyed the easy access to the beach. Russell was very easy to reach to answer any questions and his father Jean-Paul was very helpful too. Villefranche-sur-mer is a hilly town so expect steep steps around town and getting into the apartment. We stayed for 18 nights in April 2025 and it felt like home.

Villefranche-sur-Mer

Well-appointed little apartment in old part of town, perfect for a couple. Nice view of harbor, church bell/clock tower, and Cap Ferrat lighthouse in the distance. Easy access to bus, train, shops, restaurants, etc. Russell is a helpful and gracious host. Would rent again if we return to VSM. Lee and Jane

Absolutely wonderful!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Everything is just what you would want. The artwork is beautiful, the layout attractive and functional, the window view of the sea is perfect! And the stairs are doable. My husband and I, aged 68 and 71 handled that fine. We are in fairly good shape, but nothing extraordinary.

Villefranche old town flat

Excellent location in quiet street with easy access for Uber drop off. Wonderful seaside view with two levels/bathrooms for privacy. Owner extremely helpful and on hand when we arrived/departed with restaurant advice, etc. Two flights of stairs to flat with another flight within flat, no lift. Area bus stop for Nice/Beaulieu 10’ walk. Interior recently renovated with modern WC’s. No question I would gladly stay here again.

Delightful apartment and excellent host

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this really well located and quiet apartment. Before, during and after our stay, I Russell was very helpful and informative. He met us at the apartment and walked us thru everything we could possibly need to know. We loved our happy hours, sitting at the big window in front of the dining table with a light breeze and beautiful view of the sea. We had no issue with the steep stairs but if you have mobility issues, this may not be a good place for you. Otherwise, we would highly recommend.

Lofty apartment in charming old Villefranche

This property has been renovated with the utmost care to use every little charming nook and cranny of the old walls for today's luxuries like washer/ dryer/ DW and great oven. My favorite place while home was to sit by the window in a tall chair to view over the rooftops the busy harbor activities of sailors anchoring their boats as well as cruise ships and ferries coming and going, letting off or collecting their passengers. Bring little binoculars! We liked the ease of wifi /phone / ipod player set up. It was wonderful to be right in the old town of stairs and steps, and expect the same with this apartment. The manager was very helpful bringing our suitcases up- and downstairs so this was not a problem for us older folks. Great variety of wonderful restaurants within 5 minutes of sauntering down some steps. Car not necessary since parking is difficult and great train or bus connections are cheap and easy to nearby Nice or Monaco etc.

Perfect stay

Our stay in Russell’s apartment was for almost 3 months. First and foremost I have to say the hosts went way above and beyond. In addition to Russell, we were fortunate that his father happened to be in town during our stay and he went out of his way to not only make sure we were comfortable and set in the apartment but also brought us into the community. He toured us around the Cote d Azure and provided us with so much local knowledge. Both Russell and his father were incredibly responsive to anything we needed. As for the apartment itself, it was wonderful. The view across the bay every morning when I got up is an image permanently etched in my memories. The apartment is ideally located in Old Town with many nearby restaurants and a 10 minute picturesque stroll to the nicest beach in the region. Yes, there are stairs. But the entire region is hilly so if you aren’t comfortable negotiating uphill and downhill terrain, this region may not be right for you. We are in our 60’s and had no trouble with the stairs however we were sure glad to have help with our luggage on arrival. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough about what great hosts Russell and his father were and what a perfect location and apartment this is for a base camp to explore the Cote d Azur.

Pretty apartment-Not a fit for all

Firstly, we are very well-travelled, late fifties, fit and have lived in three different countries. This apartment is very well located in the lovely town of Villefranche. You can walk to the wonderful restaurants, churches, beach and train station. The trains, were, however, on strike during our stay. The flat is very bright and well-furnished with dish-washer, washer, dryer and T.V. There are two bathrooms- a neccesity, because of the curved stairs. It was extremely clean and well- maintained. There are two caveats here. This apartment does not have air-conditioning, nor does it have an outside patio or balcony. As a result, it is very warm during the summer months. Villefranche is located on a hill and contains many steps. This apartment contains stairs as well, both from the sidewalk and within the apartment itself. It would not be appropriate for children, or people with any physical challenges. While the owner did contact us to ask for input, she was not helpful in offering a solution to our take on both the heat and the stairs. We ended up spending a night at a hotel with air-conditioning and a pool in order to cool off. If this is not an issue for you, then you may like this property.

We loved staying in Villefranche , at Russell’s lovely apartment ! It was quiet, comfortable and had everything that we needed for 4 days. Russell communicated with me prior to the trip and after our arrival. We had the pleasure to meet Russell’s father, Jean Paul, who lives in the village. Jean Paul was sweet, friendly and so helpful ! Jean Paul recommended that we eat at Lou Bantry . It was our favorite restaurant in Villefranche. We went to Saint Paul de Vence one day on the train and bus. It is a gorgeous village. Get ready to walk a lot of steps in Villefranche:) Villefranche is close to many other beautiful places in the French Riviera that you can access by train for day trips ! Unfortunately the water was too cold to swim in for us in November. Hopefully we will be able to return some summer for another great vacation in Villefranche ! Merci beaucoup Russell and Jean Paul !

Nice stay

We enjoyed our stay in Villefranche. This was very centrally located. Beware that there are 24 very steep stairs to get into the property. One there, you have a beautiful view.

Very good, but...

We are in our mid-sixties, and the apartment, while perfectly fine, was difficult for us to navigate. Stairs from the street to the apartment are steep and narrow. We could not have made it up or down with our luggage on our own. Russell helped when we arrived and we paid one of Russell's neighbors to help us when we left. Even without luggage the stairs were a chore. Once in the apartment there is another stairway to the bedroom; also not easy. Villefranche is lovely but vertical, and there are no lifts. There is one private beach club, which you need to book in advance. Les Garcons is a wonderful restaurant.

Absolutely wonderful in every way

The property was central, but quiet, and felt very secure (important to me as a single parent of a young child). Check in was easy and the space was clean and welcoming. Russell provided everything we needed and was friendly and helpful. The view was magnificent and the laundry and dishwasher were huge added bonuses! I can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality!

Delightful Stay

Great place to be fully immersed in the beautiful seaside town of Villefranche. Property management/ownership was super attentive and helpful. Wonderful upstairs bedroom with beautiful skylights to breathe in the ocean breeze and hear the church bells ring. Place itself is light and breezy and husband reported that the pull out couch was pretty comfortable. Location is steps away from great restaurants and the port. Parking is sort of a disaster (generally speaking) and for anyone with mobility issues (like my husband), the entry stairs and vertical layout of the entire town make for a tough experience. So long as that’s not a problem, you’re sure to love the place and the village.

Extraordinary property!

This property is a must stay! The property is located in charming, peaceful, heavenly VILLEFRANCHE. The owners went out of their way daily to ensure a wonderful stay. They met me at check-in, carried my overweight bags, left me with supplies upon arrival — juice, wine, cheese, loaf of bread — i felt like I was staying and visiting with my family. The apartment is beautifully appointed with spectacular views of the sea. Bedroom is cozy and comfortable with beautiful bedding and good sized closet. This apartment and its owners are a 10 plus plus and will treat you like gold.
