GETTING THERE - While Hwy 330 / Hwy 18 is typically seen as the shortest and quickest way for visitors coming from Los Angeles, Orange County, and other points west to get to Big Bear, the cabin is located near Hwy 38. Though the drive on the Hwy 38 route may take a bit longer, it is typically less congested than Hwy 330 / Hwy 18 and will save time driving through town. Hwy 18 is the quickest way to/from Barstow, Las Vegas, and other high desert locations. This route has the least amount of mountain driving.

GETTING AROUND - Big Bear Cab Company, Lyft/Uber, rent a car from Enterprise or Hertz. Mountain Transit provides Dial-a-Ride and Fixed Route service throughout the rural San Bernardino Mountain communities of the Big Bear Valley, Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, and Running Springs. Mountain Transit also provides Off-the-Mountain commuter service between these communities and the city of San Bernardino, making connections with Omnitrans, Metrolink, Greyhound, and other stops. Trolley service providing transportation between local restaurants, hotels, ski resorts, and shopping venues throughout the City of Big Bear Lake.
DRIVING MOUNTAIN ROADS - During winter months (Nov 1- Apr 1), California law states all vehicles must carry chains. On the mountain we have unpredictable weather and freezing temperatures where chains could be needed at any time. Make sure to check with Cal-Trans or CA Highway Patrol for current road conditions.
QUIET HOURS - Our cabin is located in a neighborhood setting. Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 10pm to 7am. We care about respecting the local rules and being outstanding members of the community, this is why we have a noise detector located in the living room. This measures decibels only and detects higher than normal levels of noise so you can avoid any disagreement with neighbors.
CHILD PROOFING: The only childproofing measure available in the cabin is a baby gate for the stairs. No other childproofing measures are available. This means no provisions to childproof or impede child access to things present in the cabin, like cleaning supplies and houseplants. Nor has effort been made to impede child access to things outside of the Rental Property that could be dangerous, such as outdoor plants or access to the street.
USE OF SECURITY CAMERAS: The cabin is protected with outside security cameras. These cameras are used to protect the rental property from potential break-ins, theft, excessive guests and to verify complaints from neighbors. The cameras are located in each of the doorbells overlooking the yard, overlooking the driveway and overlooking the kayaks and storage shed in the backyard. There are NO cameras inside the rental property.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento
We chose Sugarloaf because it offers the perfect blend of peaceful mountain living and easy access to all the fun of Big Bear Lake. Nestled among tall pines, it’s a quieter, more relaxed area compared to the busier parts of town—ideal for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature.
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
One of the things that makes our cabin truly special is the presence of three fireplaces—a rare find that adds an extra layer of warmth and charm throughout the home. No matter where you are, there’s always a cozy corner to curl up and relax. The cabin was designed to feel like a true mountain escape: inviting, peaceful, and full of little details that make you want to slow down and stay awhile.
