This Victorian home was built in 1902 by the town's sheriff, Van Houten, for his wife. There is an air of timelessness and charm about this unique place that will transport you back in time. It has been carefully restored and maintained to retain its original beauty. The home is now open for the first time to the public as a luxury vacation rental. Right across from the Western Hotel, this Victorian home is centrally located. Huge kitchen, comfortable beds, black out shades just to name a few amenities. Large second story patio perfect for stargazing. Views from every window. Beautifully landscaped yard with a gas fire pit. Perfect home for a great vacation!

Hello! I'm Liza. My husband Brandon and I are excited to be your hosts! Brandon grew up right here in Ouray and can offer a unique local perspective to our guests. Ouray is our family's favorite place on earth. There is lots to do here - hiking, jeeping, ice climbing, via ferrata, skiing in Telluride, and soaking in the world-famous hot springs. We feel so blessed to share our knowledge of the area not only with our two boys but also with you, our guests!
Whether you are looking for the best restaurant in town or a great day hike or just want to relax in one of the hot springs, we are happy to share our favorite spots with you. We deeply care about our guests' experience so please let us know if we missed anything, we will do our best to address it right away.
We live on the other side of the mountains, in Longmont with two wild boys, 20 chickens, and bees. Although we try to come to Ouray as often as possible, when we are not there ourselves, our mom Cindy who lives in town handles and supervises cleaning and any last-minute assistance you may need. Thank you for choosing to stay at the Ouray Haus, our mountain paradise. Enjoy and have the best trip!
