Welcome to the Brewster House. Our Freeport, Maine Inn is the perfect spot for a trip to LL Bean, Freeport outlet shopping, your base from which to explore the Maine coast, perfect for a family retreat, group outing or specialty workshop.
At the Brewster House, we’re about comfort in an atmosphere of simple elegance. Our inn was built in the late 19th century blossoming of Freeport, and the amazing quality of the built-in details and materials of this 5,000 square-foot-home reflects the wealth created in Maine in this period. Our 9’ ceilings, large private baths, Comphy linens, large rooms with fireplaces, bay windows, cypress floors, mahogany mantelpiece, and Italian marble tiled hearth are yours to luxuriate in! We have parking for 11 cars, a porch to rock on with your glass of wine or Maine craft beer.
Freeport Village, LL Bean, restaurants and outlets are within a short three-block walk, yet we are on the quiet side of the highway access. We are only a quarter of a mile from the Maine coast, and on the turn east of the Maine coast, with the glacially carved rocky, spruce-covered peninsulas, beaches, rivers, islands, harbors, lighthouses, and lobster shacks that are so emblematic of “the real Maine.” Portland (and the airport) is only 15 minutes south. The Mahoosic and White Mountains are a scant 90 minutes west of Brewster House. We are minutes from Bowdoin and Bates Colleges, and less than an hour from Colby College.
Maine has the longest contiguous coastline of any of the continental United States, so be sure to take advantage of letting us help you plan your itinerary, based on your interests.

My partner Dave & I have been the owners and innkeepers of the Brewster House since May of 2016. We operate the inn as a full service Bed & Breakfast 12 months a year, but are happy to offer the entire Inn for your family, business or special interest needs. With 7 bedrooms, private baths and a full operational kitchen, our home is the ideal location to center a family reunion, company retreat or wellness workshop. Dave & I have over 50 years of combined hospitality experience and pride ourselves on helping guests make the most of their stay through individualized attention & customized experiences. Reserve the Brewster House and make yourselves at home or request our help with catering or other amenities.

Freeport Maine has been our home for almost decade. We choose it to be close to our extended family but stayed because of our strong ties to the community. Our little hamlet is anchored by LLBean's flagship location and complemented by over a hundred retailers comprised of national brands and local artisans. Just outside of town, guests can escape to the beautiful Casco Bay for recreation, relaxation and natural beauty. Portland is a quick 20 minute excursion to enjoy museums, galleries, & exceptional dining and The Jetport that offers both domestic & international flights.
