About this space
The newly updated Cedar Tree Inn is a 2nd floor apartment located just steps away from Crystal Lake public beaches and a short walk to downtown Beulah.

Enjoy being centrally located between major Northern Michigan attractions including: Crystal Mountain Resort (12 min), Frankfort (10 min), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (26 min), Lake Michigan beaches (13 min), Cherry Bowl Drive-in Theatre (6 min), the Betsie Valley Trail (3 min), and Traverse City (35 min) to name a few.

The space
Thoughtful attention has been given to this 450 square foot apartment located just across the street from beautiful Crystal Lake. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with all the tools you need to make a wonderful meal. Eat at the dining peninsula or at the outdoor dining table. Relax and unwind on the comfortable sofa or lounge chair while you enjoy a program on the Roku TV.

While this apartment is compact it can accommodate up to 5 people. One private bedroom with a queen size bed and a built-in twin size sleeping nook tucked around the corner complete with a ladder. A full size bed in the open concept living area accommodates up to two comfortably.
Kickback and relax at the outdoor dining table located just outside the entrance.

Guest access
Guests of The Cedar Tree Inn have access to the entire apartment above our detached garage as well as an outdoor dining area.

Driveway parking on premises - 2 Spaces with extra space for recreational equipment such as bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, or most boats.

Located just 5 blocks from the downtown Beulah. Enjoy a local brewery, great dining options, swimming, boating and fishing on Crystal Lake. Boats, paddleboards, bicycles and other equipment are easily rented nearby or bring your own equipment. World class golf, skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, and many specialty venues are close by. This property is also footsteps from Cognition Science & Discovery Center.

The cedar shake home on the property in which we live and the yard surrounding the home are private.
Other things to note
Along with the hosts, they have three young boys ages 2, 5 and 10 years old who enjoy playing around the yard. We try our very best to give our guests privacy and a calm atmosphere. However, our family lives, works, & plays on this property so chances are you may hear us a little and see us around!

Very clean

The apartment is super clean and very nice. The owners are very responsive. There's not really any outdoor area, but this is a great central location to visit nearby destinations.

Great apartment!

Very cute little apartment, perfect for 2 people! My mom and I just needed a quick getaway weekend, and this was perfect. While the garage door was a little noisy, they were very respectful and only opened it once late morning and closed it once in the evening, so it wasn’t disruptive. The kids were respectful of our privacy, and not loud or in the way. It was a very nice place to stay, and I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect stay for our family with teenagers who needed their own space vs a hotel with two beds. Played games in the evening and saved money by having a well equipped kitchen.

Cedar Tree Inn was a wonderful place to stay for our long weekend. First and most lasting impression is the cleanliness. I’ve never stayed in such a clean space! The hosts were friendly and the communication with Ireland was great. Truly this is a hidden gem. It’s within walking distance of Cognition (science & discovery center), a restaurant, and a fruit market and Crystal Lake. Easy drive to Traverse City too. Truly hope to stay again!

Wonderful stay, clean and cozy renovated space above a garage. Very nicely done, extremely well stocked with dishes, silverware, basic condiments and treats. Excellent communication with host. Would happily stay again.

Walking distance to town, 30 minute drive to the dunes. Worked out perfect for our family. Great host, very considerate even mailed back a forgotten stuffed animal to us!

The property was amazing. A short drive into the center of Beulah, 15 mins to Frankfort and about 20 minutes Sleeping Bear Dunes. Loved the area, loved the space. The hosts were great, would definitely recommend for a trip

Cedar Inn was great!

We stayed here while attending my brother’s wedding. Ireland was so kind and let us in early. We had no issues at all with this stay and she made sure of that. She was very attentive and kind and the apartment was clean and nice. There were some snacks, coffee, and the little things we would need. We really enjoyed our stay!

My name Ireland. Born and raised in northern Michigan. I enjoy jumping in Crystal Lake, going for early morning walks down our street and chasing our kids around the yard. When I'm not outdoors, you can often find me in the kitchen making homemade goodies for my family. Becoming a host truly brings me a lot of joy when I hear how guests have enjoyed the Cedar Tree Inn. I take pride in creating a beautiful space for guests to unwind!

Beulah is an up-and-coming small town here in northern Michigan. Over the last several years, Beulah has set itself apart with an awesome kid's museum located just half a block from the Cedar Tree Inn. Some families describe Cognition Science and Discovery Center as an extension of their living room. Chances are, we might just see you down there!
Additionally, Beulah recently got a new brewery called Five Shores Brewing. It's a sweet hangout spot for listening to live music or meeting up with friends.
I think what I love most about Beulah is that you can walk to the beach easily and enjoy Crystal Lake. The public beach in downtown Beulah offers open space to play as well as a park. Wanting a little more privacy? You can choose one of several public accesses located footsteps from the Cedar Tree Inn. The public accesses tend to be less occupied.
If you're looking to enjoy one of the many area attractions, Beulah is an easy jumping off point to your destination. Located close to the iconic M-22, Crystal Mountain, Cherry Bowl Drive-in, and so much more!

When designing and decorating the Cedar Tree Inn, we focused on comfort, function and beautiful aesthetics. The beds have very comfortable memory foam mattresses, and the furniture was selected for relaxation. When equipping the kitchen, special attention was given to equipping guests with all the tools needed to make a great meal, pop a bottle of wine or enjoy a good cup of coffee!
