Casa Miranda is a stone house built in 1859, retaining much of its traditional character. It has been completely renovated in 2023 and offers guests all the comforts of the 21st century (Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, flat screen TV). It is situated in a quiet area of Škofije, a small town in the Slovenian coastal region surrounded by green hills, vineyards, orchards and farmland. It sits amongst stone villages full of coastal character and is part of a renowned wine producing area. This is an ideal location for anyone who wishes to embrace nature, turn off their mobile phones and experience a healthier and more relaxed way of life.

This single-storey house has been designed and renovated for easy access and enjoyment. It has three parking spaces and lockable bike storage. As well as a large open living/dinning area and kitchen, Casa Miranda has two bedrooms and a spacious, modern bathroom with a double shower. There is also a washing machine – an essential item for anyone travelling from location to location or enjoying a longer stay at the accommodation.
♡ A well equipped kitchen and living area for people who enjoy cooking and for those who prefer total relaxation...
The kitchen has an electric ceramic hob, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is also a dishwasher and a big fridge-freezer.
Wide sliding doors connect this elegant living area with a spacious terrace. There you can relax in the pleasant shade of a wisteria and admire the surrounding countryside and magic view of Trieste far away in the valley.

We can also arrange the rental of electric bikes, mountain bikes and children's bikes or other sports equipment. Additionally we can provide transport for people and equipment, which is particularly popular for longer cycling tours. This enables our guests to explore and experience a wider geographical area.

Škofije is quite small but offers a range of facilities. Casa Miranda is around 300 metres from the centre where you can find a supermarket, a pharmacy, an ATM... On the square, there is also a fish restaurant where every guest of Casa Miranda receives a 'welcome taster-plate'. We have also arranged other special surprises for our guests in the local bakery, cafe Renata, at the butcher's Alan and at the flower shop Deborah.

The excellent tarmacked off-road cycling route Parenzana is located just 50 metres from the house. It takes about an hour of enjoyable cycling through green woodlands and vineyards to reach the port of Koper in the south or Trieste Bay in the north. Casa Miranda is also just a few hundred metres from the famous hiking path Alpe Adria which starts in Austria, continues through parts of northern Italy, crosses Slovenia, and then ends in Italy. Anyone who prefers swimming in the sea can visit beaches which are only 4.5 km away. Casa Miranda is also 8.4 km from excellent rock-climbing walls in Osp.
If you like discovering Mediterranean culture and architecture you can visit Trieste (14 km away), a splendid old city with a picturesque marina, numerous churches, Italian piazzas, and a castle. You can also visit the Croatian coast and Istrian peninsula, which are about 20 km away.
People who enjoy exploring nature or photography can find some wonderful views of the sea, vineyards and orchards with olive trees and figs, teeming with birds and wildlife in the local area.
