This cabin is phenomenal for a retreat. This was my second time going to this property, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The property itself is so serene, the trees are beautiful and everything is so quiet. The stars always look amazing and make it so much more beautiful. The amenities aren't fancy, but they are very very good for what the property is. The rainwater collection system does take some extra work, but it works really well and honestly adds a nice touch to the stay. The kitchen is pretty small, and in general I would recommend getting dinner out. The food in Croghan and Lowville is pretty good, and makes for nice outings. The area nearby doesn't have a whole lot of activities, but the hiking, food and overall atmosphere make it up. There are lots of outdoor activities, like hikes, rivers and state parks to visit with amazing views. The food places are various, and give a lot of great experiences like Tug Hill Vineyard or Jeb's in Lowville. The property being pet-friendly seals the deal too. Me and my fiance love going with our dog, Demi and the property is great for it. My dog is anxious, but her she has the best time. The quiet paired with the trees and plants make it the perfect place for her to explore.I really cannot recommend Mountain Laurel more. We tend to go to relax and treat ourselves, and the quiet and peaceful environment make it the perfect de-stressor.
