We wanted a secluded yet accessible spot for our last minute, quick, mountain stay with our dog. We also have a new Jeep and read the reviews stating an AWD or 4x4 would make getting to the cabin easier. So this was super fun. The cabin was exactly what we needed! We will book here when we come back to Townsend for sure.

We were looking for a getaway in the woods and that was exactly what we got! Surrounded by woods not people!! It was as peaceful and secluded as we were hoping for!!! Our host was absolutely amazing, words cannot describe! We were so blessed to have him!! The reception, WiFi, and tv all were wonderful even being so secluded!!

Great place!

Loved the place! I would heed the other reviews about the road getting up to the cabin though. It is doable with a 2WD SUV but 4WD would be best, especially if it is wet. Thats the only consideration. The cabin is very nice and clean..

Rustic cabin in the woods

We spent the night in this cabin while visiting Townsend. It is quiet and away from the busyness of downtown. It is in the woods and in the middle of nature. The drive getting to it is an adventure - read reviews so you are prepared!

Smoky mountain retreat

Great little cabin in the woods. The owner is very responsive. Very clean and has everything you need. Be aware that the road up to it is steep and gravel with about 4-5 cutbacks. Probably need an AWD or 4WD to get to it.

Secluded and convenient location.

Very secluded and quiet. Conveniently located close to Cades Cove and close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but without all the traffic. House was cozy and all that you need for a stay. The road to the cabin could be intimidating if you’re not comfortable with steep gravel roads. Wasn’t a problem for us.

The cabin was exactly like it was described, a cabin in the woods. The road getting to it is tricky, going up a steep hill on a gravel road. We had a hard time finding it the first couple of times, but bye the third time it was easier. Could have used some more lighting on the porch, and we had to replace a couple of bulbs inside. The shower took forever to get hot, and we had to go buy our own paper towels. Other than minor things the cabin was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was nothing fancy, but definitely an experience we’ll remember.

Great little getaway!

We loved this property! It's small in square footage, but plenty spacious for a couple to enjoy. We initially booked one night and decided to stay another. The owner was very responsive and accommodating, making it super easy to add the extra night. Also, the beautifully decorated Christmas tree and lights were a huge plus! I will say this cabin is very remote (a plus), but small, low cars may have trouble getting up the steep gravel road. We made it ok in a 2WD SUV, but if AWD or 4x4 is an option for you, I'd recommend it.

Okay Stay

Definitely do not stay here unless you have an AWD or 4WD vehicle. We had to swap vehicles with our family staying in another cabin because our SUV couldn’t make it up the road. Upon arriving the house smelled a musty and wasn’t very clean. The bed was really comfortable but only had a sheet and blanket with 2 pillows. Definitely needed a comforter and more pillows for that big of a bed. The curtains were stained yellow and the sheets had some stains. We would not return or recommend our family to stay here but it gave us a place to rest our head for the night.

What are great place. Private and out of the way from all the hub-bub of the the busy parts of the Smokies. Super short drive to the park and to some really good food. Even our dog Ms. Luna loved it. Joe and his wife were super kind also always quick to answer any questions we had, gave great recommendations for food and also accommodated us an extra night without any issues. My wife and I were also very surprised at the beautiful art that was for sell in the cabin. Just a heads up to anyone who doesn't have atleast a all wheel drive might have trouble on the road up to the cabin. Its a gravel dirt road and steep in a couple spots but very well kept.
