Cozy, newly renovated 1BR cabin on the grounds of Kin Cabins. Amenities include an electric indoor fireplace, shared outdoor fire pits, and a canoe and two kayaks. Kin Cabins sits one street behind Lake Margrethe, with nearby road-end access to the lake. Grayling is a perfect place to visit anytime of the year with local attractions including canoe/kayak rental, riding trails, Hartwick Pines State Park, Hanson Hills, and the Manistee and Ausable rivers.

I selected two cabins to stay at while visiting family, my husband and I stayed in one of the cabins, and I set up the other one for my parents to stay in. My husband and I stayed in the Arnie, and it was so great! The internet was a little spotty in our cabin, but I didn’t really need it for anything, so it really wasn’t a bother. My parents happened to be signing paperwork at the time, and were constantly on the phone and checking emails etc, and said they had no issues in their cabin (joann).The property and surrounding area was so nice, and we walked around the neighborhood and went to a local beach. Also extremely quiet! (coming from las vegas it was such a jolt, that it was that quiet, i wasn’t used to it lol!) Such a great area to relax and unwind. 10/10 would stay here again!

Brand new place, close to the water, nice fire pit with great hosts. Be sure you have your own shower toiletries and simple spices if you plan on cooking. This place was great, and I'll be back for sure. )

Your experience here will depend heavily on what you're looking for. I'm giving two stars (instead of one) because the cabin was generally clean. However, we had several issues that made our stay less than enjoyable. There was no wifi for our entire first day and evening. When we asked about it, the onsite host said, "I don’t know anything about the wifi," and our calls to the property manager went unanswered, voicemail not returned. When we spoke with the host the next day, he told us that, "since we were on vacation, we shouldn’t want wifi." He eventually brought over a wifi extender that fixed the problem instantly, something that could have saved us a lot of frustration if done earlier.The second night, we were kept awake past 1am due to a loud gathering at the fire pit about 20 feet from our cabin, hosted by the owner. At one point, the shouting and cursing became pretty aggressive. Thankfully, we didn’t have kids with us.There were also a few smaller issues, no toiletries stocked when we arrived (resolved quickly) and some dirty dishes in the kitchen. The kitchen itself was minimal but serviceable.We booked this thinking it was a peaceful cabin campground with reliable amenities. What we got felt more like a converted garage in someone’s backyard, hosted by someone that saw us as an inconvenience. We will not book here again, in fact, WE LEFT TWO DAYS EARLY, forfeiting our payment.

Weekend getaway

Stayed two nights ,we went kayaking on the lake that was near by,,sat around the campfire ,also took a ride into town to small farmers market .

Weekend Trip

We had a great time during our stay! The property itself was wonderfully taken care of, with a beautiful patio and bonfire pit. The cabin was very clean and well organized. What was most impressive about our stay, was the community we got to experience. Everyone we spoke to in the area was incredibly kind, and very personable! The property manager, Kent, was amazing to get to chat with. He took the time to check in with renters, and was incredibly friendly. Overall, the cabin itself and the property was everything promised and more! We will definitely be back!
