Nurturing five children, my grandfather, a humble bus driver, and my grandmother, a dedicated waitress in Manhattan and a compassionate caretaker at Jamaica Hospital, shaped the foundation of love and resilience in our family. Their deep connection with the countryside drew them to create a haven in the Catskills Mountains, offering an escape from the bustling city life. The allure of the mountains, reminiscent of their Irish homeland, became a source of solace and joy.
