Communication with the host was smooth and responsive. The house is super charming and well appointed. The neighborhood is quiet but very conveniently located, and we saw at least 6 deer each night. Very pleased with our stay and would stay again.

Charming, Peaceful Pause

This is a wonderful place for a mini-vacation. The house is tastefully decorated and well appointed. The sounds of birds, crickets, and katydids provide a soothing soundscape for the surrounding wooded setting. All of this easy walking distance to downtown. Overall, a highly enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Great Historic Home!

We absolutely love this home and property. The owners are very good to communicate and we're extremely helpful. The house is great and has lots of wonderful touches like binoculars and a birding guide to use on the back porch. The great combination of modern convenience while also keeping the historic aspects of the home. Would definitely recommend!

Super cute!

Cute place, and Annie was great to work with. Only disappointed that our stay was cut short by a pet emergency back home. But would definitely book again if visiting Staunton or the surrounding area.

Perfect for a weekend away

Small, charming, old house tastefully updated and decorated, located in a bucolic setting yet close to town. Much thought has been given to amenities and supplies needed by guests during their short stay; we lacked for nothing. It has its own parking space, a front porch with a swing for 2 and a back porch with seating for six or so, overlooking woods where deer were roaming. Good restaurants and a fantastic bakery are close by, in town. It was just perfect for a get-away!

Christmas in Staunton

We stayed for 3 weeks just after the birth of our new grandson in early December. The location was very convenient. I cooked many dinners for the new parents and found the kitchen to be well stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils I needed, which made it much easier. Annie and Matt were charming and eager to please. Annie and I communicated several times during our stay. The house was very comfortable and met all our needs. I'd certainly recommend this property for a long weekend or an extended stay like ours.Thanks Annie and Matt for making our stay a pleasure!

Summer stay at Sweet Darling House

We thoroughly enjoyed Sweet Darling! We felt like it was a home away from home with anything we could ever need! There were even toiletries available in case we forgot any. We loved the patio out back and enjoyed the porch swing in the front. The area it was in felt secluded and safe, although close to downtown. There were board games that we could use, and the mattresses were comfortable. A TV was available with streaming apps that we could log in to. Upon check out, we could remove the log in info automatically. We would stay here again and recommend

Sweet Darling was Great

This little housse is like a very good cabin. 2 private bedrooms with one shared bath. Very tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed for a good stay. New appliances and heating system, back deck has wonderful private view of the woods. Very quiet and restful, yet right in the middle of Staunton. All amenities were minutes from the house. Very clean and had a very interesting history to the house. Yet great modern renovation. Would definitely visit again. The host even left wine for us celebrate our anniversary. Annie was very helpful and accomodating.

Our Sweet Darling House is fitted with vintage inspired decor throughout our historically significant home, dating back to the 1800's. It is situated on a large wooded area, where spotting deer and other wildlife is commonplace.
