Dar Lara - Architect's Private Home - Entire Riad

Welcome to Dar Lara!! A historic 15th-century riad being lovingly restored by an American architect as her own home and art studio!

You’ll have Dar Lara all to yourself — no other guests will be sharing the space.

The riad features extremely fast Fiber Optic WiFi, a newly renovated bathroom, a very comfortable bed, and breakfast included! The king sized bed is located upstairs, while the library sitting room on the ground floor can be turned into a Twin XL sized bed for a third guest :)


The Space

At the center of the riad is a sunny courtyard, surrounded by elegant gold doors that lead to the main rooms. On the ground floor, you’ll find a newly updated bathroom, a library sitting room, a small kitchen, and the open-air courtyard—a perfect spot to relax.

The bedroom is on the upper floor, featuring a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress topper and soft linen sheets for a restful night's sleep.

Please note that the bedroom does *NOT* have an en-suite bathroom; the bathroom is located downstairs on the ground floor.

Dar Lara is nestled in the most serene and safe neighborhood of the Medina, surrounded by trendy boutiques, rooftop restaurants, and the stunning Madrassa Ben Youssef—an architectural gem just a minute's walk away. You’re also just an 8-minute walk from a taxi stand, a 15-minute walk from Jemma El Fna, and 2 minutes from the entrance to the famous Souks, placing you in the heart of the oldest and nicest part of the Medina.

Dar Lara offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city, providing a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. It’s the perfect private oasis!



Amenities

During your stay, you’ll have access to:

-A beautifully appointed bedroom with a king bed and memory foam mattress pad

-A complimentary large bottle of water upon arrival

-A projector in the Library Sitting Room for cozy movie nights

-A SONOS music sound system

-We also provide an espresso machine, milk frother, hot plate, small oven, and a full fridge for your convenience.

- Dar Lara comes with workout equipment if you feel inspired! We have a yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, two 8pound hand weights, a jumprope and resistance bands.

-A charming open-air courtyard sitting area

-Our custom brochure filled with tips and our favorite spots around the neighborhood and Marrakech



Extras

-Airport transfers are available from 200dh or 20€/car (for 1-3 guests).. Mouad, our lovely house manager, will be at the airport to pick you up and walk you directly to the riad :)

-Daily, included breakfast service by our LOVELY housekeeper, who is also available to assist during your stay and can prepare dinner upon request (250dh per person)


We’ve poured our hearts into making Dar Lara a comfortable and memorable place for your stay. We hope you’ll love this little riad as much as we do!

You'll be able to access all the parts of the house *except* the 2 small bedrooms and the rooftop terrace that will be locked as they are still being renovated.

There will be absolutely *no* renovation work being done during the time you will be staying in the riad. It's all peace and quiet and just for you!

Our house manager, Mouad, will be happy to greet you and show you the riad, and give you the house key upon arrival. He will also help you with absolutely anything you may need during your stay at Dar Lara :)

We are also happy to arrange airport pickup (from 9am-9pm) for 200dh (20 Euro) with our House Manager, Mouad, who will gladly walk you directly to the riad, so there is no chance of getting lost in the Medina Maze.


If you are arriving after that time, we will provide you with a detailed video and directions to easily get you to Dar Lara :)

I’ll be happy to cover your airport pickup fee if you donate books!!
