Clean and well equipped. The lighthouse is fabulous, and the views of Lake Superior and the Eagle River are stunning. The Keweenaw has always been our favorite place, and staying here made it even more special. Jan is a terrific host, a wealth of information, and most responsive to our needs. We highly recommend.

The Eagle River lighthouse is in a class by itself regarding elegance, comfort, and a sense of history. Every amenity has been thoughtfully provided. If you're wondering whether it's really worth the money, I will simply say that I think the price I paid was an excellent value for the destination.

The stay was amazing. Cannot say enough about the host Jan. She let us know when the northern lights might be visible on the first night and you can see the result. The kitchen was a dream for a rental, and it was probably the most full stocked rental. Agree with others the sunroom/library is probably the most used room. Everything was absolutely AMAZING!

This is a beautiful property! It’s well stocked with all the necessities and more. We enjoyed the deck and the beach the night we arrived and then the rain came unfortunately so we hung out indoors quite a bit. We loved our time there!!

Stunning experience

The lighthouse surpassed all expectations - gorgeous property, excellent location, attentive host. The layout afforded so many views, lounge areas and space to stretch out. The decks and adirondacks were perfect for enjoying the lake view and the blanket of stars at night. Highest recommendations....thank you for allowing us to make excellent memories!

Very relaxing stay. Fun to here foghorn go off every 2 minutes when the Lake Superior was covered with fog. Then the sun comes out and shines on the lake making diamonds on the water. Sunsets were beautiful. The house had everything we needed to have a great time. The flowers in the gardens were so pretty. Seeing majestic eagles flying over every morning.

One of my all-time favorites

This is our second stay at the Lighthouse and we will be coming back. Awesome house with plenty of space, a phenomenal view and walking distance to the awesome Fitzgerald's Restaurant.

Great Get Away

Everything was perfect. Very nice finishes, clean and great communication from host. Tv could have been alittle larger but everything else was perfect and it was a nice week spent at the house.

Absolutely Amazing

The Eagle River Lighthouse is a lovely, comfortable home that is perfect for a relaxing stay on the Keneewaw Peninsula. The property manager, Jan, was very helpful and pleasant. It is beautifully renovated and stocked with everything that you could need to enjoy your stay. We were treated with a loaf of delicious bread, maple syrup, and local coffee. The lighthouse has great views of Lake Superior and is close to several sites like Copper Harbor. There are many eagles nesting nearby and yooperlites to be found. It is walking distance to Fitzgerald’s, a surprisingly good local restaurant. We highly recommend visiting the Eagle River Lighthouse.

The property is beautiful and the attention to detail was amazing! The owner placed fresh flowers throughout the house, did our grocery shopping and delivered it, and provided coffee/cinnamon bread. Our stay could not have been better!!

Beautiful, welcoming and comfortable home

Historic Lighthouse is thoughtfully furnished, to the smallest detail. Property managers Virginia and Jan are quick to respond and very accommodating. If you are in this area and wondering where to stay, stop looking and book the Historic 1850 Lighthouse in Eagle River!

The Cole family spent summer vacations on Eagle River's shores. Fond memories birthed a desire to invest in the community. Once owned by their great great aunt's daughter, the Eagle River Lighthouse offered a rare and special opportunity to preserve a vital part of Eagle River's history while providing a venue for new families and friends to create special memories.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The Eagle River Lighthouse is absolutely unique in its history and presentation. It was commissioned by the US Government to guide ships along Lake Superior's Keweenaw coast. Built in 1855 completely of red stone, it housed the light keeper and his family. The light was decommissioned in 1909 and the property sold into private ownership. The partners wanted to preserve the building's character and share its legacy as a beacon with others who treasure history and the splendor of lighthouses.
