Highlands Haven
Five miles from Churchill Downs! Charming and beautifully decorated 100-year-old Craftsman, this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is on a quiet street, yet steps from Bardstown Road's "Restaurant Row," voted the Best Street in Louisville. Huge fully equipped kitchen. Dining room seats 8. Large back patio with plenty of space for al fresco dining, and a peaceful covered front porch. Lots of space to relax indoors, too, in the living room, family room, or den, each with a TV.
The space

The main floor contains the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Off the dining room is the family room, which doubles as a bedroom. It contains a queen Murphy bed, which effortlessly converts to a sofa for daytime use. There is a full bathroom in the family room.
A large back patio can be reached from the kitchen or the family room.
The second floor contains two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed (not a Murphy bed!) and the other bedroom has a twin bed. A 2nd twin bed can either be set up in this room or in the alcove on the lower level (basement.) Or, the twins can be combined into a king-size bed.
The lower level can be accessed from the kitchen or a door off the walkway beside the house. The den is downstairs, and contains another combination sofa and queen Murphy bed. There is a full bathroom with laundry facilities, and an alcove that can be used for dining for four, a dedicated workspace, or a bedroom with a twin bed.
The kitchen and bathrooms have been fully renovated, and contain every modern convenience. However, the house retains its historic charm, with hardwood floors, stained glass, covered porch, heavy molding, built-in cabinets, and quirky corners.

This is the house where I live except for Derby week. I love to decorate and to entertain, and friends often comment on how welcoming my home is.
The house is decorated with items that have little actual value but are precious to me, such as family photographs, books, and mementos. I will make plenty of space for your things in the pantry, closets, and dressers.
