Private Waterfront Cottage
About this space
This secluded cottage sits along the shores of breathtaking Penobscot Bay, at the mouth of the Penobscot River in Winterport, Maine.
The full property is a wedding venue, and this AirBnB is our Honeymoon Cottage! It is truly romantic, but also a perfect getaway for a few good friends to enjoy nature and kick it by the campfire. We only rent on AirBnB when we don’t have a wedding- so you’ll be the only guests here!
The space
This cozy cottage is one open room. It has a queen bed as well as two twins (a day bed with trundle). Everything was newly renovated in the summer of 2022 with brand new furniture, mattresses, and bedding. A brand new heat pump keeps the cottage warm in the spring and cool in the summer!
Perched 50 feet behind the cottage sits our brand new bath house with a shower, bath tub & toilet. The luxurious bath tub allows you to relax beneath a skylight and large window as you overlook the waterfront vistas
Guest access
From the road you'll see a sign to the cottage. You can drive down to the peninsula and park right there on the lawn. Once booked, our AirBnB welcome page will give you the exact address, help you access wifi, and answer any questions you have!
Other things to note
This oasis highlights our favorite parts of Maine: beautiful water views, bald eagles, passing boats, and a beautiful bathroom perched above it all.
However, it is important to know a couple things that make it unique:
The cottage is just one open room. The bath house is a separate structure (you'll need to walk up outdoor stairs to get to it).
The cottage has a mini-fridge, Keurig, microwave & water bubbler, but we do not have a full kitchen, and the cottage itself does not have running water. The bathroom DOES have running hot water, so no worries there!
Although this is on the riverfront, dangerous currents and deep mudflats prevent water access for swimming, boating or fishing. Public boat access is minutes away in nearby Frankfort.
Some might consider it a step above glamping... so if you love nature, this is the perfect spot for you and your loved ones.
