A medida que circula por nuestro carril boscosa que dejas atrás tu vida diaria agitada y entrar en su propio refugio privado.

La casa principal tiene 4 RBs y 3. 5 baños. La planta principal tiene plan de piso abierto w / una cocina gourmet, una isla de 6 plazas, mesa de comedor para 10, y una sala de estar con luz natural con una vieja estufa de leña tradicional. La planta principal MBR contiene una cama king size, baño privado w / ducha grande dos cabezas, y un balcón privado. Fuera de la zona de comedor es otro balcón y / porche en cubierta. La cocina cuenta con una parrilla de la estufa de gas y con todos los utensilios necesarios para preparar una fiesta para la familia y amigos.

La planta baja dispone de 3 amplias reservas de biosfera w / camas queen w / libreros empotrados, 2 baños completos y salir acceso a un gran patio. La sala de prensa céntrico contiene una gran televisión y un montón de cómodos asientos.

El Coach House tiene 2 RBs tamaño queen y 1 baño completo. Un área de juegos con mesas de billar, futbolín, póker, y hockey de aire. También un vídeo de una zona de estar.

Una pasarela de ladrillo conduce a un estanque privado, cubierta / muelle w / cenador, bañera de hidromasaje y un montón de muebles de exterior para disfrutar de la atmósfera relajante.

The house was in a beautiful peaceful area. Clean and warm inside. There was plenty of room for us to have our own space and get together for meals and games. I would highly recommend renting this house and exploring the area!

Overall this property suited out families needs very well. The large main living area and kitchen was a great space for our 12-14 guests to gather, eat, and play games together.Compared to other Vrbo rentals we have utilized this one did lack a bit in the little 'extras, but those are not required, such as travel toiletries if something was forgotten by a guest, extra towels and wash clothes for bathing, extra pillows for those who may need to use a couch or air mattress for sleeping, but again. these are not required, but always a nice tough when offered. Thanks for being a nice host and offering such a secluded home for our families stay. The carriage house over the garage was a very nice space for the 5 teenagers to have a place of their own to go to at times to play games and veg on their phones.

Beautiful setting and loved the rustic charm of the home. Much of the high rafter decor was pretty dusty, but the living areas were clean and tidy. No coffee present and the nearest store was (as best we could determine) a 1/2 hour away. Had we known, we would have stopped to picked some up on the way in. (I don't think I've ever stayed at a VRBO before that didn't provide coffee or pods). We were also shocked to discover (after booking and arrival) that we were expected to haul out our trash to a landfill 6 miles away! Only expect that when remote camping, not when paying a required cleaning fee. Overall, the stay was fine.

Secluded and Spacious

We had a great time. The house had a good number of bedrooms and bathrooms, especially if you include the coach house. It also has a good kitchen/dining room/screened in porch area for eating, games, and hanging out. There were also many couch beds!

We enjoyed the house and it's location and also the use of the community pool. It fit all of us (13) with the use of the carriage house. With the kids downstairs, the adults could enjoy time on the main level, but if we wanted to all be together, that worked on the main level, as well. We made use of the deck and the screened in porch, and the hot tub. The kitchen was equipped with a big fridge and we used the dishwasher a lot. We did notice a few minor repairs that were needed on the house and sidewalk, but they didn't interfere with our use of the property. An electric water kettle would be a nice addition. We brought our own and it was used a lot. We would definitely go back to the property.

Amazing!

This property surpassed my expectations. The house is amazing and very comfortable for a large group. There is a huge living / kitchen area and a screened in porch. The bedrooms are all remote enough to have privacy. All bedrooms are very comfortable. The house was very clean. Master suite on the main floor was great for someone who doesn’t want to do stairs. The fire pit was so enjoyable. We saw a lot of wild life and the privacy was exactly what we wanted. Note that the decor and house are a bit rustic but we LOVED that about it. We are already planning our next stay!

Multi Family Weekend

The home was as listed. We enjoyed our time and the privacy the home provided. The home was clean, larger than it appears in photos and worked very well for 3 families (14 people) to stay. The kids enjoyed time in the coach house next door. We didn't get to use the hot tub but they enjoyed sledding down the hill in the front yard. There was plenty of cups and dishes for everyone. The owner was accommodating with our check in/out needs. Also, lots to look at throughout the house, it made for lots of conversation and the kids enjoyed all the unique treasures. We would stay again! Not deal breakers but things to note:- You have to drop off the trash at a site about 10 minutes away. The key card needed to get in needs to be returned to the home.- We needed to use the extra pull out beds. The house has no extra pillows or blankets only an extra set of sheets per room. - They only provided 1-2 towels per room. It wasn't enough to accommodate everyone. Bring extra towels and beach towels if using hot tub.

Thanksgiving Get-Away

We decided to go “over the river and through the woods” for our extended-family Thanksgiving holiday this year. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 70 and the house and property were perfect for our 3 nights together. Plenty of room (bigger than the photos indicate) for game playing, crafting and cooking together! The kids had fun in the hot tub, game room and exploring around the pond. Kitchen worked great for preparing our Thanksgiving dinner. Dishwasher was a bit glitchy - or maybe we were : ) A very comfortable (if not posh) place to hang out together in a beautiful secluded setting (and the hosts have curated a really lovely collection of children books for a variety of ages- MANY of which were read during our stay). Dave was helpful and answered the questioned we had. Lots of good memories made!

Great spot

Overall, a great place to get a group of people together. There were 10 in our group and we were able to relax, enjoy the screened porch, firepit and hot tub and cook some wonderful meals together.

Great kitchen!

Wonderful open kitchen and living room. The kitchen had plenty of kitchenware to create any meal you want. It was great! The teens loved the Carriage house!

Extended Family Gathering

Property was clean and had plenty of space for our family to gather. Access to Galena and Galena territory amenities was excellent. Plenty in the area for our multi age family, so having a central spot for staging and laughing was important. Deck and campfire is a great amenity to bring the family spirit together.

Cozy and comfortable retreat

We rented this property for a skiing trip to Chestnut Resort in mid-February. It's an amazing place—comfortable, cozy, and spacious enough for 13 people across 4 families, with ample kitchen equipment. The playful character and personality of the owner really shine through.

About eight years ago friends of ours loaned us their house for a couple of days while the well was being repaired at our home. Also at this time we were looking for a place to build a therapeutic riding center for special needs individuals. We fell in love with the Galena/Jo Daviess County experience and decided this would be the place where we would build the center. In 2008 our dream was realized and the center was opened. It is called 'Area of Dreams' and is located on Blackjack Road near Chestnut Mountain Ski Area. See links for further information.

The center relies 100% on volunteer help. At the time we lived 3-hours away and most of the volunteers were from the same area. The center operates on weekends, so we needed a facility to house the volunteers who came on weekends. Luckily we found this unique property that fit these needs.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This is a very secluded/private property that makes people feel they are deep in the north woods even tho civilization is just over the next hill or on the other side of the trees. As people enter the house they immediately begin to relax due to inviting and warm atmosphere of the house. Next they cannot wait to explore the many unique and fascinating features of the property. The tin ceiling, wood stove, hot tub and pier, pond, media and game rooms, and interesting decorative items. The open floor plan offers a wonderful place for family and friends to enjoy each others fellowship.
