The Owlery at Sugar - a unique 3 story mountain chalet.

The Owlery at Sugar is a unique 3 story mountain chalet with 2 decks that sits at the base of Sugar Mountain. This home provides level entry. On the main floor, you will find a completely updated kitchen, dining area with views of the mountains, living area with a wall of windows allowing plenty of natural light, tongue, and groove ceilings with exposed beams, ceiling fan, stone gas log fireplace, and large smart TV. Both bedrooms are also located on the main floor. The master features a queen bed with an en-suite bath. and a large jacuzzi soaking room. The room also has sliding glass doors opening onto the deck. The second bedroom features a queen bed and an adjoining bath. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and a smart TV.
Take the spiral staircase upstairs into the loft area where you will find a queen bed and sleeper sofa allowing you plenty of sleeping room if you want to spread out. Downstairs has a washer and dryer and a foosball table for your enjoyment. Owners have safety in mind with a wooden gate to block the stairwell.
Sits at the perfect location to offer mountain views of Beech Mountain and Banner Elk and be within walking distance to Sugar Mountain's ski resort. You are only minutes away from all of Sugar's amenities and a short drive to shops and dining.

OWELRY was as advertised. It had a well stocked kitchen that allowed us to cook our holiday meal. We enjoyed the house while relaxing and playing games. Great location.

Great Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is awesome! You're kinda in the middle of everything with mostly short drives to whatever you want to do. House still felt secluded enough to were you didn't feel like people could see you on the porch or through the windows. Only complaint was it was very cold when we stayed & the house seemed to struggle to get any warmer than 60-65 degrees at night even with getting up multiple times to turn the timer back on for the gas logs. That was a concern since we had our 6 month old with us but luckily we found space heaters in the closets that did the trick. We still enjoyed our stay very much & would stay again.

Awesome Stay!

Our stay was awesome! The house was in the perfect location. We went to Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville Falls. Every evening we watched the sunset from the back deck which was breath-taking. We will definitely come back.

Perfect location for skiing

We enjoyed our stay at this property! Lots of space and nice amenities. Using the gas logs downstairs caused the loft to get too warm but once we figured that out, all was well

Perfect Getaway

Beautiful cabin within walking distance from slopes. It snowed while we were there which made it even better! We will definitely come back!

Beautiful and well kept

Nice property, very clean and well appointed. Parking for only two vehicles, and kind of tight with two SUV's but worth it for the view!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Owlery is conveniently located and comfortable,This was the second time we rented it. I have some trouble walking, so I appreciated the ramp and accessible shower. However, it’s starting to show its age: sagging mattress, ants, old electronics, old deck furniture, broken kitchen drawer, wood planks at the front entrance need repair or replacement. If some of these changes are made, especially the old mattress, we might rent it again.

Great stay, perfect for quick Sugar Mountain access

We loved our stay at the Owlery! We came to ski at Sugar Mountain, and the location made it a super fast drive (less than 5 mins). We could have walked, but we had small children with us. You can see the ski lodge and lifts from the back porch, and if you happen to be staying over New Years Eve like we were, you get an incredible view of the fireworks show! We comfortably slept 8 people, but could have had more on couches or sleeping bags if needed. The whirlpool bath is huge and was a big hit with the kids.Everything was comfortable and in good working order. The kitchen was just what we needed, and there was enough space for all of us to hang out after a long day of skiing.A couple of things that didn’t detract from the experience, but just worth noting: Parking can fit 2 cars but no more. Street parking in front is not allowed since the roads are tight. The upstairs gets very warm, and the basement level is very cold! Crack the window upstairs and you should be fine, and unless someone plans on sleeping downstairs, it’s not a problem. It snowed while we were there, and though the roads were plowed and salted quickly, it still got slippery in places. Bring your snow chains just in case. We loved our stay, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to spend time around Sugar Mountain.
