Minutes away from the town center and local eating establishments.. Located on 5 acres adjacent to State of Michigan Paradise Pathway Cross County Ski Trails. Newly remodeled units with open concept and living area. Great bathroom and cozy bedroom with sitting area. An electric fireplace to add warmth during the cold months. Circle drive with ample parking for large vehicles.

Enjoy short trips to Tahquamenon Falls (10 miles), Whitefish Point (8 miles), and Vermilion Point Nature Preserve (13 miles) with many hiking and exploring opportunities. Can enjoy day trips to Crisp Point Lighthouse (28 miles), Ste. Marie (61 miles) to see the Soo Locks, or to the Pictured Rocks in Munising (103 miles). The beauty of the UP is endless!

Our stay was great, the location was excellent for restaurants, those that still operate anyway. (Shout out to the folks at the goat locker!) It was close to the falls, the shipwreck museum and the beach. The room was cozy for sure.

Very cute room. I think they are still renovating, but the room had a really nice cozy cabin feel. Would stay there again.

fresh, modern decor; quiet, great shower, comfortable bed.Some of the finish work isn't finished, but we enjoyed the ambiance of this small but functional room. Close to Falls and also Whitefish Point.

The location was okay. Very close to a diner with a great selection of food. The listing said there was a stove, microwave and dishwasher. None of these were there just a small refrigerator. This worked ok for us since it was just one night. The place was decorated nice and had a great shower.

What a cute little stay! This was PERFECT and exactly what we needed. Very small, but that was fine! You can tell this property has recently been renovated. All amenities within the unit were new, and everything was very clean. Looks like they are still putting the finishing touches on a few things (ceiling wasn't finished, outside door trim still needed attention.) But seriously, that is my only feedback - and it's nit picking. We would 100% stay here again!!

Just what we needed while exploring the area. It was warmer than usual. Since there’s no air conditioning the owner went above and beyond to bring us a box fan to help out with air flow. Great customer service!

Nice room, very clean. Bed is great-firm and comfortable. Big screen smart TV, electric fireplace, and lounging chairs made it feel a bit like home. Shower is fancy, but small even for a 5’5” person and no shampoo/body wash included (although, not listed amenities list, so we were prepared). Microwave was listed and wasn’t in room. Host delivered one within 5 minutes when we asked about it. Excellent service w all questions. Fridge in room was good size and even had a small freezer section with some ice cubes.

So this place was sorta odd - it seems like it was a pole barn converted into 3 rental units. There is no heating or cooling except for a box fan or the electric fireplace (which we couldn't figure out how to turn on). Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, etc, its not a hotel room. But it was quite clean and the property owner communicated promptly, and we had no other issues with our stay.

Overall, Black Pearl is a great spot for a winter retreat, 15 minutes from Tahquamenon, and a perfect location for those wanting to hike or snowshoe to the falls. The host was helpful and answered the couple of questions I had for them. Have had my VRBO account for years and have used many times, but there was a glitch logging into the system so I could not access messages from the host and had trouble accessing the code and thus getting in. VRBO helped tremendously solve the issue and I was finally able to get in. The room was very nice and warmed up once I learned how to use the electric fireplace/heater. Didn't see any written instructions. After a long day in the snow, I picked up food from a nearby mart only to find there was no microwave in the unit. Pulled out by 9:30. Any more snow and I may not have gotten out of the driveway.

Everything was clean & tidy. Would have liked sweetner to be available for coffee. I loved the "Bear"rug at the foot of the bed. It was so soft underfoot. Interesting shower! Would have liked more counter space around sink. No place to hang clothes. We had to live out of our suitcase. Not much place to put our suitcase. Sufficient, though for two plus days.

Perfect and relaxing

The Black Pearl is a great option for somewhere to stay in Paradise, MI. Updated, clean and well maintained. Great communication from property manager. Close to food and a short drive to multiple attractions in the UP. We will definitely be back.
